Haha, I get your point, but our only challenge was Pantheon. Not to be a dick to the other teams, but when the semi-final was the firs time we went against a whole team? Yeh.
Fly is a fucking freak though. I have no idea where he gets the time. Perhaps I should ask to borrow some.

There's probably a dark web resource for roleplays you can copy, find/replace, and post. It's probably that.

I think we should either get a title in which there is a limit or a completely separate division. I can not and will not write book length rps... my girlfriend looks at me like I'm nuts the whole time I'm writing a 4k one lol I would most likely pull a Logan if I found myself booked against a book writer cos there ain't no chance in winning. Right now I'm kinda seeing myself slipping down the "I can't compete against these guys so I'll semi retire" path.
Also one more thing... Twilight once wrote a 40k rp for some PPV. Do you really want to get like that? I think not!

I've gone back and forth over this. I believe that a creative person can be so no matter what the word limit is. I also feel that in judging Seth has done it long enough that he can be fair when judging long and shorter rp's. It was the level of talent here that brought me to this place and keeps me coming back. Why? Because it makes me a better roleplayer going against such talent. I don't always read all of the longer rp's but I skim over them enough to get the gist of what they are trying to get across. Would a limit be beneficial or would it keep those who are writing the shorter ones from stepping up more and improving?

I have no clue what my longest word count RP ever was, and frankly I couldn't give two shits. I sit down and tell my story and let it evolve in its own. Yes I'll admit the longer ones I did were probably better, but I know I cranked out some mighty fine shorter ones. I always wanted to go for the World here and would still like to as it's basically the only one Doc hasn't held(active titles). Honestly though I get the 'fuck its' when I see the shit long RPs thrown down for that title. Could I put out the same quality as those, oh I don't doubt it one bit, however I have never been one for really long RPs, they are a bitch to write and even read. I got too many other things in life that take precedence to worry about throwing down some massive RP in hopes the quality stays good. I've never been one to pad my writings, hell, even my English teachers said I could have put more down even though I made my points succinctly. I guess it's just my brain at times not understanding why if I've driven home my points that I still need to put fluff and or filler in...

I'd like to point out the consequence this has on clusterfucks and (trio) tag matches:
I've been lately putting a little over 1k words into my shoot for each individual person I'm facing. So let's say we cap it at 5k this week: I've now spent 3k of that limit just shooting on my opponents and now expected to trim down my character development and personal story to have a competent shoot. This can work to the favor of guys like Cairo who have very shoot-centric promos, but for guys like Joey Flash, Dune, and I who have big, meaty shoots but also rich personal stories, it severely constrains our ability to craft quality RPs. I can't fairly create a conversation and scene between Howard and his wife which gives any readers insight or depth to their relationship with just 500 words. Maybe in singles I'm less inhibited, but with the Sentinels built as a trio and likely to get more trio matches, I'll have to continue to put in quality shoots to match my opponents.
I get that there's a huge "quality vs. quantity" argument going on here. It's a very important discussion to have. There are definitely people who use quantity over quality to win matches. But what about the guys who have both quality and quantity? Isn't this hurting them as well?

Pretty much everyone who does quantity does quality. I don't think the discussion is about quantity over quality. I think its more about making it a little more even for those who can't do so much quantity.

Since Howie mentioned Joey in his example I'd like to get Flashes take on this since he pressed the "yes" button

I think its more about making it a little more even for those who can't do so much quantity. I don't necessarily agree with this. I won't name names and cause drama (everyone has their own opinion and tastes), but I think there are some guys who write long RPs I don't necessarily consider great RPs. They're good, but I think some people who write shorter RPs write better RPs and should beat them.

That's true. But look at the majority of people who write longer RP's. The majority are quality as well as quantity.
Either way it should stay the way it is IMO.

As I've stated in a previous thread regarding this topic, I'm 100% opposed to a word count limit of any kind. We're already limited to one RP for most Slam matches and two RPs for most PPV matches. How many more restrictions do we need exactly? And quite frankly, if someone lacks the time, creativity or ambition on a weekly basis to go 5K or more on a promo, then maybe they don't need to be here in the first place?
It seems to me that the talent in the current WCF landscape is thriving, so I'm not sure why we need to implement more restrictions in order to make things more "competitive"? I'm not seeing any issues regarding a lack of competition. In fact, with the writing talent and roster depth that we currently possess, I think the playing field is as level as it's ever been.

Dude, we're as bad as Congress when it comes to getting a majority decision.

Dude, we're as bad as Congress when it comes to getting a majority decision. That is the real lesson here...WCF shouldn't run a country! Though...maybe we should...It would be one hell of a bad ass country!
