Potentially pragmatic solution: Introduce a new belt (or use an existing belt) and put a word limit on the RPs. Everybody who wants a limit can fight for that title. Done. That's a cool idea.

That's actually a great idea.

I've actually considered this! I think with the new Trios Titles it'll never come to pass because we probably have too many belts as it is, but I've definitely considered it.

Also, if I did it it would be the Cruiserweight Title, which may or may not be a good thing. I could also tweak to the Television Title rules.

Here's an idea make the cruiser weight belt it. Because cruiser weights are smaller.

Im not sure the Cruiserweight title would work because there will be people who want the limit who's character won't be eligible.
TV title would be perfect IMO. Defended every week with a word count limit.

Yeah, TV Title would be a good place, since it is a belt for newer folks with less material on their opponents.

The US title is always just kinda there, it could breathe new life into that belt too.

I like the idea of the TV title being on limited words as a compromise.... could we wait until I lose the belt though?

Do it with the US Title, the word limit, but extend the RP limit out to 2 for a regular show, and 3 for a PPV. Like the World Title, but with a word limit.

I don't think a word limit belt is really a compromise, and surely you guys can see that (mainly because the exact opposite argument could be made for those who want no limit to have their own title), but unfortunately there really isn't a compromise on this issue. But oh well, the majority spoke via the poll and Seth said he isn't keen on a word limit either. I wasn't expecting this to go the way of a word limit, but still feel that it was a discussion that was needed.

I like this idea.
but besides this, I'm against a word limit. There is already a one roleplay a week limit. I've always been of the opinion if someone does a long, better, more in depth roleplay than me they deserve the win. They put more work into it. But that's just one man's opinion.

Plus with a word limit... how much harder would it be to judge a match?

Waited a long while to chime in on this because I was really not convinced either way what the solution was. But now I am. And I feel it's the best compromise we can make right about now.
SLAM: All matches have an 8k limit, title and non title.
PPV: No word count limit.
People might not feel burnt out now, they may feel okay; they might want to push on and be creative. But in four, five months time, who's to say? And what happens when 9, or 10k is needed to win matches? Here's my analogy of the situation. You all want to show off your best work, you want to cram in as many high spots into a match as possible. But guess what? You have to work smart too. Any actual wrestler in the real world will tell you that. Save the best stuff for the PPV. As Dusty would say, "That's the money, baby!". You have four weeks to get that 10/12/15k masterpiece in size ready if that's the road you want to go down. Get it perfect. Get that character development in there, because that's the PPV. It's bigger. You don't do 60 minute iron man matches every week on free TV. Whats the point of a PPV if it's nothing special?
This isn't football, it's wrestling. To me, that's the only analogy that matters.
I want Steve Orbit back full time. I want Corey Black back full time. If the size of role plays are putting off talent such as these? Then we have to look at what we're doing very seriously.
Well that's my two cents.

I appreciate the sentiments, but a rule change for two guys isn't really all that feasible. It has to be something everyone wants, and Seth will go along with. All I wanted was to bring my point to the table. Even 8k is too much, honestly. For a Slam match, which may or may not matter. PPV I can see bringing the thunder. Likely a title or culmination of a feud. That's where the problem lies.
Take Trios. I was face to face with nearly 40k between three opponents. You really think part timers like Fly, Orbit and myself had a snowballs chance?
If it isn't a rule, then we should look at common courtesy. This is for fun. We write to escape and make stories for like-minded people. It's competitive, but at the end of the day, I just want to have fun. Getting crushed by 15k every match of a feud is ridiculous.

Not to be a dick because I love all three of you but Fly especially has proven he can go toe to toe on long RPs. Orbit not so much but he excels in quality and you guys made it to the finals. It's not like you jobbed in the first or even second round. If your argument is "part timers don't have a chance!" well....

I really don't kike my wording there - holy shit, autocorrect didn't catch "kike" and I'm not fixing it! - I didn't mean to insinuate anything about your team except that you definitely could have won, word limits or no, and that it was a bad example.
