I feel you mistake my character for the actual me. Perfect example, when I played Crystal Knight she was played and handled in a COMPLETELY different way to how Lilith is handled ... so much so that most people (apart from admins) didn't even know it was me. If it's a characters gimmick to act and behave in a certain way I don't see what the issue is. #heatmagnet See my argument for what it is, not for attacking you. Because I wasn't attacking anybody in particular. Just something I've noticed lately and we - as a community - should be helping, not hindering. I mean, I'm with you on this, don't get me wrong. No one sold my gladiator gimmick when I tried it, forcing me to change the gimmick entirely, and I'm still pretty salty about that (though granted, I didn't develop it much). AAA changed his name because he felt it would make him an easy target. Especially for us new guys, if we can't get over in a sea of assholes, then what's the point? I get we're not the mainstays of the show, but we can easily be the future of the show, if we can at least get the rub we need early. But at the same time, people are assholes on the internet. It is part of my character. He talks about being an upstanding guy, yet is willing to tear into people online. CJ and I are in a match with Baron. For a title, on top of that. Per Blaze's questionnaire, that first question perfectly qualifies for comeuppance, whether its a beatdown or getting pinned or whatever ends up being the decision. Interactions between characters, both IRP and OORP (not IC and OOC, distinctions here), are important, because unless we are promoing on the shows, how else do we interact aside from this? It is important to establish characters, yes, but it is also important to establish relationships between characters, even if it is an internet keyboard warrior spat.

I feel the main thing here should be selling people's characters and matches etc in the sense that... if you have a brutal match you don't just go on Twitter the next day like "LOL well that was fun". Example, one time I had a match with Twilight which was so brutal I wrote myself into a coma for several months lmao!

Actually what's really awesome, and falls on the match writer, honestly, is when you can incorporate Internet board details into the match itself, lol.
So yeah, if your plan has always been to showcase Baron as beating the tar out of people for their disrespect (even if it doesn't mean winning the match), then bravo, you are doing everything right.
In fact, if you really REALLY want to make it awesome, sell the beating after the fact. Have your character tweeting from a hospital bed, needing stitches because of the beat down that Baron put on you.
It's kind of a trade-off in the latter case. You make him look strong, and it in turn makes your character seem strong when you (barely) beat this unstoppable monster.
Again though, that falls a lot on the match writers and what you do with the result.

I agree, we should be working together. The issue comes in when someone brings in a powerful character and expects us to react right away. Sure your guy may be 10 feet tall and can juggle with the planets, but how good is your guy in the ring? Our roleplays equal out to our abilities, our skills in the ring. If someone comes in acting like Brock Lesner but has the roleplay = skill equivalent of Gillberg, then he's going to be treated as Gillberg.
The problem is that everyone wants to be the biggest toughest guy here. There's nothing wrong with that, but understand it is a gamble. If you prove it with your roleplays, I feel the WCF will treat your character the way you want to be treated. I feel they have done so for me. I also feel that if you're trying to be an Undertaker character but can't match up "skill" wise, then you're not going to be treated like The Undertaker.
Another point; some characters are designed a certain way.
Sometimes an established character, or a character being established, is of a certain skill set, and of a certain mind that would write off certain other types of characters. Lilith is nuts, she's crazy, and she wouldn't understand that she NEEDS to be scared of Oblivion. Bates is strong, powerful, and confident enough that while he respects Oblivion's strengths and powers, he feels he can beat him. It all depends on the character.
Another point; the Booking.
When a new, unproven character comes in with the gimmick of big, powerful, skilled, etc, then they do not need to instantly be booked against the more seasoned veterans of the company right away. If a character joins the company as some Kurt Angle type "best wrestler in the world" character, and is put up against a good roleplayer with a gimmick less than "best wrestler in the world", if the Kurt Angle type loses, it destroys his character.
Last point; new characters are new.
One of my biggest issues in efeds, and it has always existed, is when someone joins the company and tries to act like they're the best wrestler because they were in this fed or that fed. It doesn't matter what you've done before hand, if you're new here, then you're new. One of my characters has 31 World Championships, but do you think that matters here in the WCF? No, it doesn't. If I were to bring that character in here, he would be new anyway. The only way this isn't an issue, is if the roleplayer is talented enough, and has worked out a deal with the rest of the roster to play off the character.
Anyway, that's my ranting on this subject. Some of it might make sense, but we'll see.

With my rp 'Worst call ever' I incorporated the other wrestlers accordingly And recently I saw how Spearman sold well about his opponents thanks to a bees nest. (funny shit) But in general what Odin is saying is true. Lilith may be too detached in the brain to see Oblivion as a threat, but Sarah Twilight would proceed (should proceed) a little more cautiously because she has enough common sense in character to reconise the threat in the same situation.
Our match writers do a generally good job overall, but to bring in Odin's point for the match writing would just be over the top results, but would also discourage a few match writers from performing. Odin is right 100% and Lilith is right 40%. She's hiding behind her character to no sell in my opinion. The character's craziness could be given a 'nudge' especially since Lillith is returning, to allow the understanding of fear and concern.
Too many character types are no selling, which is a secondary reason for my retiring Freezer Burn and bringing in a different character, which allows me to play off others no sell much better and incorporate traits that don't exactly have an iron skin. Crystal Knight would be a perfect character for the fed right now where Lillith is just another in the group of evil dysfunctional, mentally handicapped assholes that for character reasons don't sell.

A lot of this could go in for match writing too. At some point someone should do a "match writing tips" thread in order to encourage more people to participate. Heck, I'll write it if people want lol. I think we have kind of fallen into a trend of having some matches be "this guy hits a move from the move list, commentary, this guy hits a move, commentary, finish, commercial break" which admittedly is sometimes necessary, but it also kind of makes the matches skippable? I dunno.

A girl is playing with a puppy and people are like "be careful! He could bite!" but the girl knows she's never been bitten... That's how Lilith views Obi lol Lilith would definitely be worried and concerned if she came across Bates or some other scary person she's never had anything to do with before though for sure

should a slot be added to our applications for in ring attitudes/responses? To help match writers get a better idea of how to write appropriate results for the characters and matches?

What I think the problem here is his people are hinging too much on saying that's how their character is, rather than adding in the other things that should be taken into consideration. Things like history, we can approach this as this is everyone's first match against someone else. Can Lilith get away with not seeing a Oblivion as a threat in their very first match? Yes. But historically encounters between the two have not ended well for Lilith. So at this point saying she doesn't understand the threat is a cop out to no sell. Whereas my character has had several matches with Oblivion, and has defeated him several times. So his threat level to her is much less. I realize we've used oblivion as an example here, but this applies to everyone depending on situation and history. The way Sarah twilight approaches Johnny fly is much different to how she'd approach someone she's beaten multiple times. Forgive the miss spellings I'm doing voice to text on my phone

Hey everyone! I can understand all of your point of views and personally i think it comes down to respecting one another...
I respect everyone here and i'm pretty that i've messaged everyone one of my opponents/partners wishing them a good match and congratulating them on their victories our great RP week to try to build good 'working' relations with them.
When i'm booked i usually try to go back and read past RP's/matches to included that in my own RP to validate/push whatever their doing right now and try to incorporate what happened in my last matches as well (most specifically in the KODT). Communication between the people involved including the writers is really important to try to get your gimmick over.
I've had some great match done for me liek the one The Plague did againsy Mikey Extreme and included things from my RP into the match and then on a late RP i included stuff he wrote from our match into another RP!
So to resume for me: Respect, communication and integration are what make this fun for me.

Okay I feel like i should weigh in because in the beginning I too was an easy target... I mean come on, I came in with this character I have used for many many years and he just so happen to be a cult leader... In a company who has seen it all waaaaaay too many times and believe me from the word go, you all were sure to remind me of that fact. So instead of becoming a person who complained, I took all of that I chose to evolve my character. My character doesn't tash talk on the internet boards because I don't feel he's the kind of guy who uses Twitter or the internet. I created a keyboard warrior to play a somewhat voice for him to keep that idea going. So I say as long as Baron rolls with the punches and continues pushing who he is no matter what, then I say he will be fine. Let your haters be your motivators and hell turn them into your muses. Massaker wants to be a butcher... Well everyone who trashes him on the boards becomes a new name on the butcher's list... Boom that's how you spin that shit on your favor.
Just rise above it all, that's all I say. Hell I'm still a cult leader but I'm constantly evolving myself and I know my character isn't the most loved but I enjoy writing as him all the same.

Just to add to the conversation of "getting over" in efedding.
As far as internet boards go, they could of course be toned down. When I opened my fed, a toned down internet culture was one of the big points as it can turn into a shitfest of no selling and just general meta lameness.
Now, I will say that the internet boards don't mean much in the grand scheme of things other than the title match threads. Everything else to me was always..just not important.
See, getting over isn't just getting over like it is in normal wrestling. If that were the case, everyone would've seen that HMM asshole and just praised him from the start for his 576 world championships on AOL.
There are a few ways of getting over and very few times has that ever been just your character. I will list examples below.
Be the funny guy: (Ex. Vulgar, Richards, Purse, Ryan Blake, etc.) People always like a good laugh. It's a no brainer that if you write a funny and enjoyable character with funny and enjoyable pieces, people will receive it well.
Be a dope writer: (Ex. Fly, Dune, Flash, Howard, Cairo, etc.) People appreciate top tier RP ability. You get over when you're talented at this shit.
Be a nice guy OOC, not a doucher: Believe it or not, most of getting over in efedding is being over OOC. You do this by just being a decent dude who goes above and beyond in that regard. Look at Teo/Teddy. Why is he so universally fucking over with everybody? Because he's contributed more to feud building than probably anyone in the past year or two and is the most down to Earth person you'll have a conversation with. It's that simple.
Be different: Uniqueness. Pretty simple.
Grind, grind, and grind some more: I fucking sucked when I started in this place back in like late April of last year. I'm not saying I'm the greatest or that I myself am "over", but the grind to be better is part of it.
Legends are over: Here's the thing..legends in a fed will always be way fucking over. So nobody no sells Obi in an IT thread? That doesn't mean shit. I guarantee you everyone with a brain respects the hell out of that guy (myself included). Guys like Obi, Digger, Purse, Corey, Odin, Price, etc. earned that legend status and that's something that can't be taken away from them ever.
So unless it's an IT match, don't sweat the IT board. It's a simple extra whatever in non-title situations that has no real impact on how over or not over your character will be. Just look for ways to be better and make things around you better. That's getting over.
