I think y'all are missing the point here. It's not the flag that's racist. This all most recently started when some asshole shot up a church. Had that cock stain mad a video with the Holy Bible and a picture of Jesus would we be calling for a ban on those items? No, we wouldn't make those scapegoats for his behavior. No, it is an action that led to the reminder that people have a problem with the flag. Some may have the two connected, but the general argument about the flag goes beyond the shooter at this point. And to address your one meme, people do go after Rap lyrics, they always have. And as for your second meme, money and ratings, that is all.

Check out this Wikipedia article regarding the word, and pay attention to the origin of the word itself. There is no such thing Howie... Racism is racism, no matter who the target is reguardless of the perpetrator. And yes I see racism directed towards white people just as much as any other 'race'. It's 100% acceptable to talk about Black Pride, Asian Pride, Native American Pride, he'll even Gay Pride. Bring up anything about being proud to be White, holy fuck, your a racist. All the while we forget that there is only one race, the human fucking race. People keep using this word, and I don't think they know what it means. Just as all these rappers will argue, as well as anyone else who doesn't want to be censored, I do have the right to fly that flag, just as much as the LGBT community has the right to fly a rainbow flag. Freedom of expression bitch...

Just those of African American decent. Now I agree that Confederate Flag had it's moment, and it died years ago, these redneck hillbillies need to just Let It Go as the song says. I will tell you from experience, that being white has cost me getting a job. I have several black and native friends who's resumes look almost identical to my, some with even a bit more experience. On several occasions I have been told I was over qualified and not offered the job. They were almost always told that while they were under qualified, they could still be trained. Affirmitive Action has done great wonders for this country, but people are so afraid of violating it that white working class males are inadvertently discriminated against. |

Blacks, gays, asians, native americas, etc. all use that to remind themselves that they are strong and rich with their own unique culture. Why? To build themselves up, man. It's almost like a woman in an abusive relationship going to a meeting group with other abused women. The whole "oh but white pride would make me racist" argument is invalid. It is racist and it is insensitive. It's like breaking and entering, raping someone, and then being like "Is it chill if I order PPV here? My cable's out." As to getting into "rappers" or "thugs" and all that talk, when you add that into a conversation, it's almost out of a lack of knowledge.
