The scene opens up in the makeshift interview area backstage in the WCF Arena. Seated in the interviewer’s chair is none other than one of WCF’s commentators, Zach Davis. Make-up people are attending to a place on Zach’s forehead as Gravedigger, Adrian, and JJ walk up. Zach starts waving the make-up artists away and stands up.
Zach Davis: Welcome! Glad you three could spare the time before tonight’s events.
Zach Davis shakes hands with all three as Gravedigger gestures to the camera with a grin on his face.
Gravedigger: Zach, did you honestly believe I would turn down an opportunity to be on camera? Really?
Zach lightly touches his forehead.
Zach Davis: Duh, right. What was I thinking?
Gravedigger and Adrian sit down in the chairs across from Zach’s chair as he also takes a seat. JJ stands next to Gravedigger with her hands resting lightly on his shoulders. Zach looks off camera and as if given the cue, he turns to Gravedigger to begin the interview.
Zach Davis: Ok, so everyone is still in disbelief not that you eventually made your return, but that you returned on the side of Seth Lerch. Excuse the harsh language here, but what the hell, Gravedigger?
Gravedigger grins and shakes his head.
Gravedigger: Like I said the other day, it’s business. Seth can see that I’m good for business. That’s all I’m really going to say about it for now. Trust me, there’s more to the story here, but that’s not going to be revealed for now.
Zach Davis: Right, right. Well, I do have one more question about your return that I’m sure people are wondering about and hopefully this is one that you can answer right now. You returned with Adrian here and said that MS-13 has returned. Not counting your time as Troy Malenko’s manager earlier this year, the last time you had a long run as an active competitor you were with the MS-13 as an active competitor and not long after you won the world title you sided with The Dark Side once more. Why did you choose to return with MS-13 and not with The Dark Side?
Gravedigger thinks about the question for a couple of seconds before responding.
Gravedigger: Well, it’s like this. Back in 2003 and some would say even in 2008, I had plenty of success with The Dark Side, but other than that the past couple of years The Dark Side just wasn’t what it was back in the early-2000s. The Dark Side was a really formidable force in the early-2000s, not just in WCF but in other federations as well. The last couple of years I consider nothing more than a failed attempt at recreating that awesomeness. MS-13 is more about who I am, being half-Mexican. Odin’s comment about me and Adrian seeming like two Mexicans on the side of the road selling fruit was obviously a ridiculous statement because I’m half Mexican and Adrian is three-fourths Mexican so obviously that would mean he was actually seeing one and one-fourths of a Mexican. Obviously, Odin needs to get his eyes checked.
Adrian lowers his head and shakes it in disappointment.
Gravedigger: No, but seriously. It’s all about who I am. It’s about embracing my heritage…even if it’s only half of my heritage. Like I said earlier, The Dark Side was a formidable force here years ago in WCF, but MS-13 will eclipse that. Some would say the riot and all the chaos we caused leading up to my world title win last year was almost enough to already eclipse it. Adrian here, he is only the first piece of the puzzle that is MS-13. He is the first, there will be more.
Zach Davis’ eyes grow a little big.
Zach Davis: Are you saying the MS-13 faction here in WCF will grow in numbers?
Gravedigger: Are you seriously asking me that? Of course it will. You’re talking to Gravedigger here. You know I travel in a group. There’s no telling who I will end up bringing with me to WCF. The only people who know who all is coming are myself and Seth Lerch. Anyone who knows me knows that my shit is always planned out. I don’t do things on the fly, I know what I’m going to do in every situation.
Zach Davis: Corey Black said earlier that you always have a group following you around making sure you win even when you’re on your back fighting for your life. What do you have to say to that?
Gravedigger grins at the mention of Corey Black’s name and then is laughing by the end of Zach Davis’ question.
Gravedigger: What do I have to say to that? I have to laugh because it’s so amusing that Corey and Odin are teamed up. They’re like peas in a pod because both men are so stupid and don’ t know their history as well as they think they do.
Before I answer the question, I think I may need to issue Corey an apology for referring to him as Creeping Death. You’ve switched from Corey to Creeping Death more than once in your career, it’s hard to tell who I’m talking about or who is standing in front of me. I could go out there tonight to see you back as Creeping Death and I wouldn’t be surprised.
But no, let me address the garbage you said about me having to have people interfere for me to get a win. Yeah, I am almost always in WCF with a group of people watching my back and yes they do interfere on occasion, but maybe you should shut your mouth and do some research you ignorant twit and look at my most important matches. The matches where a title was on the line, where I was either winning one of my many titles or defending it. In major title matches, I won or successfully defended every single one of them without help EXCEPT for my tag title win earlier this year with Troy Malenko and my world title win last year against Chad Evans. Speaking of that world title win, could you honestly expect JJ to not get involved when he made things into a personal issue for her?
So, I have had MANY matches involving titles and nearly all of them the deciding factor behind my win was my own ability. I’m sure though that this needed correction of your idiotic babblings will be seen as more whining by you rather than me making you look stupid. I find it funny that both my opponents are accusing me of whining and all that when that’s all I hear coming out of their mouths.
Zach Davis: Yeah, Corey took it pretty personal when you barely addressed him last time you were on camera.
Gravedigger: Haha yes, he got his little panties in a wad that he didn’t get hardly any attention from me in my last promo. What’s even funnier is that he looks at all my accomplishments and acts like they’re nothing and that he’s still better than me. Corey, how many major matches have you won against me? None, unless you count him being on the WCF team against The Dark Side three years ago. How many major matches have I won in against you? I won my first tag titles and world titles while you were in the ring. You also weren’t good enough to win the company back from me three years ago either.
It’s funny how you act like you’re better than me by naming the WCF Classic and how you won it back-to-back. The part that’s funny is that when that was going on, I don’t even think I was part of the company. It’s funny how nearly every time I’ve been in the company with you, I’m the one with the world title. I’m the one running the show. I’m the one dominating the company while you’re making small appearances against lesser opponents most of the time. And the times we’ve faced, I won. Somehow you don’t see me defeating you nearly every time we have been in the ring as a clear indicator that I’m better. That’s kinda odd. I figured that’s how this whole competition thing works.
Oh and one other thing I want to address before I quit correcting every single thing that comes out of your mouth, I wanted to address you talking about me leaving and being worse than Logan and Torture. Are you out of your mind? Do you even pay attention when watching on the monitors from the back? I retired once. I left in 2005 on my own. I left in 2008 because I WAS FIRED. I shut the place down in 2010 and then I left earlier this year because I wasn’t even supposed to be in active competition. So I have no freakin clue what you’re bitching about when you act like I “leave” a lot.
You know, I can’t wait to get into the ring with you and Odin tonight. All I have spent this week doing is correcting you two ignorant morons on my own history with the company. My history and what I’ve done is thrown in my face incorrectly but when I correct you I’m told I’m talking too much about the past? Seriously? Maybe the past wouldn’t be talked about me so much if both my opponents weren’t bringing it up as well.
The fact is, whether you like it or not. Whether you like that I take what is mine or have it handed to me. Whether or not I roll around with a group of people or by myself, tonight MS-13 will dominate. Adrian and myself will dominate and we will come out on top. Corey Black, I have beaten you before and I will do so again tonight. Odin Balfore, you might be the world champion, but that means nothing to me. I will defeat you tonight like I have defeated so many of the greats in WCF history.
The scene fades to black.
Zach Davis: Welcome! Glad you three could spare the time before tonight’s events.
