Scene one - “ Invoke. “
( A MONOLOGUE )
A few months ago I sparked the fires of change, of revolution in a time of uncertain turmoil. When WCF squirmed and clammed together, not knowing what to do with its self, I stepped up to lead it. When WCF had no one, when its “ legends” and “ hall of famers” left it to die a slow painful death, I breathed new life into it. I know that more then a few didn’t like it, perhaps they didn’t believe in me or.. Perhaps they just wanted to see WCF fade away and close its doors to time and space like it never existed.
Well it does.
It does because I willed it so. I’m the guy that took up the task that no one in WCF could have managed- let alone succeed at it. Uncertain times called for unfamiliar devils, I was that devil. Gone was the passing of the championship and days of paper champions and place holders. I emerged as the top guy in WCF an I still am. That position would be challenged however when jealousy reared its ugly head in the form of Seth Lerch. Seth had left an was unable to return due to a DUI. Driving-under-the influence, driving under the influence- the influence an ignorance of his own ego that just because he came back that things had to go back they way they were before..
So I put that ego through a table and let him know exactly how I felt about it. I didn’t win any points with that but I wasn’t about to abandon all that I had fought for, being that I was one of few that actually fought for this companies survival. Seth knew that my ability, determination and power was virtually unmatched, even against his beloved hall of famers. It was at WAR X where my title would be contested and won by Johnny Reb, meaning that I had fallen short. I told the world however that I would leave wit the title an I did only to have it taken back by Reb and Seth the week following.
Now it’s a quest for pride and vengeance. Seth tried to stack the odds against me by pitting his best friend Logan against me with a title shot on the line. My eye sight aint too good anymore but I don’t see Logan around these parts no more- guess that shows you how I’m willing to put my all into this quest when I took Logan out of action; a bad omen for Reb and Seth. The weeks after that had me defeating Reb in a tag team match and Lawnmower Jones, the third attacker in the brawl that ended with my title being taken away from me.
I had defeated all those who had sided with Seth in defiance of everything that I had created in his
“ absence .” Now with the right to challenged Seths puppet at Helloween I will cut the strings of the past and continue on with my plan to recreate the WCF in my own image. that’s where we’re at right now, Reb is just the place holder set forth by the man who refuses to believe in the future of this company. I’ll see to it that he changes his mind because after I drown Reb in a sea of disappear I’ll go after Seth Lerch and show that that’s its none to wise to invoke the vengeance of a Norsemen.

Scene Two- A Falling King.
* It was a cold sweat that gripped him, clung to his skin like spiders silk. His vision blurred and etched out figments of the landscape before him. As he looked around, there was no one there and he had this feeling of emptiness in his torso, much like a hunger pain. Gazing downward, he could see a spear protruding out of him. Could this be real? his sluggish, weekend arms struggle to play the music that would force his fingers to dance and touch the pole arm of the spear. Odin begin to see into the black abyss that is the unknown void as a voice echo through out it.. .. … *
“ What you did, you did for them. Now, now you do it for you. “
* Odin winced in pain *
“ Give yourself unto yourself and set them all free. Oppression by any other name is a tyrants folly. If that’s what they make you out to be then don’t disappointment. Their god is one of mercy; you are not. “
* Odin gazed out into the abyss as a rune began to appear. *
* Odin sat up in from his bed, patting his stomach franticly. *
Odin: It was just a dream, it was just a dream.
* He tried to shake it off but when he looked over he saw that same rune laying on his nightstand. He puzzled over it for a moment before getting out of bed and walking over to his custom made chess board. Picking up the white king he clutches his fist around it before putting his hand to his chin.*
Odin: Their god has returned, a man of ill fate. I’ll fate because he ignorantly picked a fight with Odin Balfore. Was it business? Yes but was it wise; no. It’s not wise to anger the man who can and WILL crush all that get in his way, in fact- I’ve already done that. I’m not sure if its Seth’s delusions, his ego or a combination of both that makes him think that one man in the form of Johnny Reb will be able to step up and stop The Nordic Tank. I’m sure its his vision to pick up where he had left off but it’s one vision that won’t come to fruition.
* Odin moves the chess pieces around arbitrarily to different spaces on the board. *
Odin: He had this elaborate plan to stop me too, pity.. Pity that it didn’t work. I put Logan out of action, put Jones through a table an even put his paper champion on notice. Now what more could he have up his sleeve; what other lives and careers is he willing to sacrifice in order to stop me? Reb; his little ace in the hole? The man that came from the back of the pack behind the smoke and roaring of Kane and Logan that beat me at WAR; well the scores two - one, in my favor. He can’t cling to that little nugget forever because it won’t win him this match. What I saw in him is what I know he saw in me. Terror. He saw it for the past three weeks. For three weeks he saw me display reckless abandonment for those across from me- because of Seth. When a leader knows that he can not win, he sends in his all. He sends in the best to get the job done an expects them not to fall. Ironically enough, they all did. Now it’s time to show that mild mannered gods can fall like the those he put in my way and the world will once again cry out to be saved for the wrath of the Norsemen.
* Odin slowly releases his grip on the white king as it falls in slow motion to the ground, landing on its side. The camera zooms in as it gentle rolls back and forth for a moment before the camera fades. *

Scene Three “ Vili Vinna “
* The scene opens to a local Radio station in Reading, Pennsylvania. Being a topic of interest all onto his own, Odin stops by WKRX- to give an interview for the up coming Helloween Pay Per View that will be hosted by the town. Odin sits, hulking over the cramped radio controls as DJ “ The Doc” and his co host “ Jenny the Nurse “ Welcome Odin to the newest Edition of “ The Script “ *
The Doc: Good afternoon, good Afternoon to all my patients out there. it’s the good Doctor here along with my Nurse Jenny. Today on the script we’d like to welcome a man by the name of Odin Balfore. Odin’s a professional wrestler whose come through the area many times over the past decade or so but never has he appear on this show. However the WCF as we know is our local promotion whose home area is based right here out of Reading an Odin is headlining the show titled “ Helloween” against Johnny Reb for the WCF World Title. So welcome Odin and thank you for coming on the show.
Odin: Thanks, it’s a pleasure to be here.
The Doc: Now Odin do you and Johnny Reb have any history previous to what’s been going on recently?
Odin: No, not really. He had a match a few months back- our “ groups” were feuding at the time, he and Jay Williams came back to try and jump back into the spot light on their accomplishments from months prior an as the top guy, the champion- I wasn’t having any of it.
The Doc: Then WCF went on Hiatus till Seth come back and reopened the place.
Odin: Well, we didn’t really close, we were at a boil over, pretty much. Things got so intense that no one really wanted to be around. So we were taking the time to cool off and let things settle. We didn’t close as we did just take a break because a lot of people were burned out.
The Doc: Now, were you one of those guys because I heard that a lot of the boys in the back weren’t too fond of you.
Odin: I wasn’t burned out, no. I was doing all I could to keep the company going but there were people in the back that weren’t fond of me because I wasn’t what they were used too. I was the new guy still, you know? I’d had only been around for a few months now I was the guy who got the ball and had to carry it. I’m sure that ruffled a few feathers but that’s the businesses. I was the only guy that could do what needed to be done at the time an I made sure things got taken care of. If I wasn’t there, WCF wouldn’t be here right now. If there’s still guys in the back that don’t like it, I’m not a hard guy to find haha, you know.
Nurse Jenny: Ya, your not exact travel size.
Odin: Uh, traveling so hard on a guy like me.
Nurse Jenny: I’d imagine.
The Doc: Now we’ve all seen the promos an if you havent you can see them at WCF dot com where you can view various promos from the wrestlers at WCF but Odin I gotta ask you, are you nervous going into this match against Johnny Reb, he did beat you after all.
Odin: Well from where I see it, the scores two - one in my favor an I think Doc Henry said it best when he pointed out that Reb is at least a little scared of me because he didn’t get the title back himself after I -
The Doc: You stole it.
Odin: Yeah, stole it. Sure, I mean OJ went to jail for stealing back his own property so why not throw me in there with him; ya know? I took it because in my eyes it was still rightfully mine. The fact that Reb has done nothing to keep me down says a lot. What message do you think it send me when all he’s done was hide behind WCF brass? He got the best of me for three seconds and that’s all it takes in this business but at Helloween- I’m going to control the match and best him from bell to bell. That’s a claim that Reb himself could not make an if he does then he’s a bold faced liar.
The Doc: What if he does say that though?
Odin: Then he’ll be cursing my name from a hospital bed, hissing through the wires that hold his jaw shut. Right now he’s just poking the lion an eventually that lion is going to maul him. At Helloween, the cheep shots stop. The running stops, the excuses stop because when its just he an I in that ring- alone for twenty, thirty, minutes, how ever long I feel like torturing him, he’ll have learned that there’s no getting the best of me. Seth won’t be there to plan an attack on me where I gotta fight off three people an he’ll have no one to blame but himself.
The Doc: I noticed that, he blamed D-Day for his lost against you the other week.
Odin: Funny how he blames D-Day for losing but if you go back and watch the math- Reb hits me with an enzugeri and then DIVES to make the tag. He had the chance then to go after me and do some damage but he tagged out. He tagged out because he knew that I’d murder him.
The Doc: Some would say that’s a smart move.
Odin: Yeah, it is but this isn’t about smart moves- its about proving a point. I’ve been proving points and making statements since I arrived in WCF. All Reb has done is hide behind excuses. He could have beat the hell out of me in that tag match and made me regret taking the title but he didn’t. He let D-day take the brunt of the match an the pin fall but then he has the gall to blame everyone but himself for losing the match? What a great “ champion” he is. I’m the guy that took the title, laid him out at WAR X- put the boss threw a table an all Reb can do is make excuses? Its pathetic, simply pathetic.
The Doc: Well why should he get involved in all this- he is the champion. Why do more then he has too before Helloween ?
Odin: Because he actually has too. Believe it or not, Rebs looking really weak right now. I’m sure he doesn’t want to admit too it but being the champion, not answering the attack by me or even personally settling the belt situation says a lot. It says even more when you blame everybody else around you for your short comings. What he has to realize is that all of my moves are focused on the head and neck area, that’s a big target, especially for him an his injury. I’m sure when I leave him in the ring with a class four concussion, he’ll just blame Doc Henry for it. Ya know, its all Doc’s fault, not his.
Right now, the title is a secondary thing, or at least should be for him. He’s got to defend his honor an he simply isn’t. He’s just making it all worse for himself when we step into the ring because he’ll have no where to go. No one to blame, no where to hide.. just two men in a contest of strength and wits an I know that I best him in both.
The Doc: Well you do want the title back, don’t you?
Odin: I do but I’ve been winning the battle up to this point. My fight isn’t with Reb, its with Seth an what did Reb say about him? That Seths just the boss- as long as the checks get signed; right? As long as the checks get signed, he doesn’t care about Seth-- well I don’t care about Reb. I don’t care about Reb or anyone else in the WCF as long as Seth keeps that belt away from me.
The Doc: Well he’ not exactly keeping it from you.
Odin: Of course he is. I represent all that he’s afraid of and with good reason. I’m change. Its Obvious that WCF is afraid of change. If you wana branch out and grow bigger, you gotta switch it up from the norm. They.. “ they” the hall of famers, legends.. They represent all that. I don’t think you can go a single promo from the past few weeks with out Reb comparing himself to somebody else. He’s gonna be up there with so and so or that He’s just as good as X or Y. Reb isn’t concerned about being himself, rather what they all want him to be. I’m not about that. I don’t care about whose been here an what they’ve done. I’m only concerned about what I’m doing right here, right now an right now through Johnny Reb I have the opportunity to grab the WCF World title for a second time and lead this company- not just follow the whims of “ the boss .”
The Doc: Well your gonna have to follow the boss anyway, right; I mean that’s what you gotta do.
Odin: But I don’t agree with him, so fuck him. He hasn’t fired me yet an what’s stopping him? Me. that’s what. He knows that WCF deep down needs me, that Seth Lerch NEEDS Odin Balfore. I’m different, I’m unique. If I go, a lot of WCF’s base will go. Sure, “ the boys “ will be happy but then they just keep going in this vicious circle an I think secretly Seth’s all done with that. On the surface he wants the same old an he’s proud of it, as he should be but now is the time to make new stars an I’m that guy. If I go, there’s no one else to step up and take my place. There’s no controversy without Odin Balfore, there’s no main event scene with out Odin Balfore that means that Odin Balfore equals MONEY. Seth knows this, I know this, the world knows it but they arnt willing to accept it. So what do you do to people that aren’t willing? You force them. I’m going to force WCF to swallow the pill that is the Evolving Revolution that is The Nordic Tank Odin Balfore.
We had the time of the confederate, it didn’t work. So many guys are pretty much one note champions, not known for anything; even if they are multi-time champions. I have substance ya know. You look at me an go “ there’s a main eventer, there’s a guy that gonna get shit done “ an your right. When CD tried to run with the company I took it from him an all he was trying to do was keep it alive. Now that Seth’s back, why should I stop doing what I’ve been doing? It’d be the same thing with or with out Reb. He’s jus some interchangeable part in the grand scheme of things. If it was him, Kane, Logan , D-Day, who ever you wana put in his place it doesn’t matter because I have a goal. I’m going to shake things up an Excesses McGee over there, Johnny Reb certainly ain’t gonna stop me. He can train, pray, have faith, know with out a shadow of a doubt that he’s going to beat me but it’ll all be in vain.
The Doc: Well he had a goal too, he set out to win WAR an the title and he did. What makes you think your goal of social change out weighs his goal of keeping the title?
Odin: The “greater” cause isn’t the issue. He’ll say it til the cows come back to sweet home Alabama, that I don’t know what I’m talking about. He’s just digging his own grave here by calling me a mid carder.- wait that was before he lost the tag match to which he just blamed someone else so what does Johnny Reb matter- he doesn’t. His goals don’t matter, his life doesn’t matter because after Helloween he’ll just be another statistic in my long list beaten opponents.
The Doc: Well can you take us inside your thoughts of your match? This showdown of goals, desires on the opposite of the spectrum. Reb just wants his place in the WCF hall of fame, to be remember for ever where as you just want to do away with it all WCF has accomplished. This has the making to be one of the best matches of the year.
Odin: His goals are the same as anyone else’s. He wants recognition, I’ve taken it. I’ve taken what I wanted an I’ve taken Rebs little identity because he’ll be known as that asterisk champion. He’s the foot note champion. He’ll get his little hall of fame induction to spread his legend like the herpes that it is- same as everyone else around here. He shouldn’t be so concerned about that as he should be concerned about what damage I’m going to cause in that ring. He can get right back up, come right back at me an I’ll drill him down again. I know Reb will try an use fancy words one minute and then spit out that southern slang, ranked in alcohol telling me that he won’t give me a second thought because he’s a better champion then me because he’s a hard hitting, hard fighting.. I don’t even know what.
It’s the one on one with me that he’ll have a problem with. it’s the realization that he’ll have a problem with because if he managed to do his home work rather then neglect it like me he’ll have known that my title wins come with history, not a pat on the back an a six pack of swill. Johnny Rebs crushed, lifeless body is my gold watch. I got a few of them. D-Day twice, Creeping Death.. Now Johnny Reb. That’s stand alone history that I made, not some hash tag to be compared too. This is a different animal, a different match then what he’s used to having though I’m sure he’s done it all right? Everybody everywhere has done it all, haven’t they? Except when the company itself is on the line. Match time, the crowds gonna cheer an he’s gonna skip around with his crooked teeth an his broken fucking nose that you can use a carpenters levels, the shits so fucking flat-he’s gonna get into the ring, be announced as the future hall of famer, the current champion and then the fans will chant his name.. boy is that gonna be something special. They’re going to chant his name an he’s going to feel so proud that he’s made it. Years of hard work pay off, he is the man.. Until..
The arena grows dark and the crowd goes silent if only for a moment. In that moment though, the unraveling begins. It’ll start to creep and sink in his mind that he’s alone. Then my music hits, the fans will cheer, some will boo but they all know what’s going to happen. That’s why they’re split- they know exactly what’s going to happen but there’s Reb in the middle of the ring, waiting for it, guessing at what it could be. He thinks they’re booing because they don’t like me. “ I’m the bad guy. “ He’s the drunken, slobbering, flat nosed, busted teeth, racist., go figure. So while these thoughts are going through his head and he’s trying to carefully go over and plot out what he’s going to do to me, how he can’t wait to go back and get himself a drink and be hailed a hero- the crowd knows what I’m going to do to him. The same thing I did to D-Day, to CD, to Logan.. To many, many other people who stood across from me in that ring and they’ll go ballistic. So now here I stand at the top of the stage, eyes cold, face like stone. My intentions known to all except for him as I stand out and gaze at that ring- my fans sing along with not only the chorus, the war cry but the truth.
It’s the truth, the undeniable truth of it all that even though he an his fans, the fans of the WCF out number me and those that share in my beliefs - its that I get results. He’ll catch a glimpse of me an be hypnotized by my focus an he’ll start to doubt himself. His stomach will go to knots and he’ll be praying that he had a few more shots of liquid courage before stepping out of the curtain because right about now he’ll be needing them. It’s put up or shut up time for Johnny Reb to prove that he is the guy but deep down he knows that he isn’t. he knows that he isn’t because there’s more qualified guys in the back if Seth had truly planned on stopping me but he hasn’t so then Reb just starts thinking that he’s been led into a massacre an he’s right on that broken fucking nose of his, flatter then a ken dolls chest.
I start my methodical walk down the ramp, not taking my eyes off him as he pleads with himself, begging his eyes to look away if only for a moment because I am in his head. I’m in his head in the worst way possible because now he’s thinking about how I crushed D-Days back, how I power bombed Creeping death right out of WCF; how I sidelined Logan, put Seth through a table and completely an utterly mangled Lawnmower Jones and Switches all because I felt like it. His balls will try an escape through his throat because they know better. Pride will have checked its self at the door of the hotel Confederate Champion in the better judgment of physical safety but wait.. He might not get his gold watch if he backs out now so he stands his ground foolishly just to get his moment in the sun but if you stand in the sun for too long, you get burned. As I make my way to the ring, Johnny Reb is getting burned for the sake of his own better judgment. He wants that hall of fame induction an he could probably get it with out this match but he’ll have no one to blame but himself at this point an owning up to his mistakes just isn’t in his nature, is it? He knows that what I’ve done, I just did for no reason other then the fact that I could. I’m not here to win friends, you can make friends or you can make money.. I’ve been in his game for a long time, trust me when I say that I have plenty of money. I’m sure he knows that, I’m sure he knows I have no real reason to do what I’ve done here. He soon realizes that it’s like asking the sun why it shines or why birds fly or even why Seth hasn’t put a stop to this match- things just happen. Things just happen and Johnny Reb has just come to the grim fact of life that the destruction that I cause, just happens.
So what does he do; he tries to cover it up, like I can’t tell. I’m like a shark smelling blood when it comes to fear an uncertainty- once I know that its there- there’s nothing anyone can do to change that. See I’m thirty feet away, not even in the ring with him yet an I’ve altered everything he built up for himself. Seth signs his checks but this is one that Reb just can’t cash. I guess you can just call him bank of America, I’m the dept collector an Reb is up to his neck in bills. Why did the promoter you trust do this to you- money, its business. Now the gears are starting to turn even more in his head. If its money, business then what’s that make Reb.. Collateral. He’s just disposable collateral. Do you really think WCF needs another hall of famer to run around the back and chime in every so often with a fact that no one cares about anymore like they’re still relevant; no, fuck no! So now he’s asking himself if he’s still relevant.. He’ll assure himself that he is that this is about gold! Gold! that’s what he’ll say. This is about being a better champion, this is about the career of Johnny Reb god damn it!
And you know what..
He’s right.
This is about gold, being a better champion, the career of Johnny Reb but its not exactly how he’s envisioning it. You see, its about the gold, that he rightfully won but was wrongfully taken from me. Its about being a better champion, which I am because I have the means to back it up. I’m causing all this chatter in his head. I’ve got all these fans in a frenzy- I have the entire world waiting on ME- not Johnny Reb. So whose the better champion; I don’t need to convince the world, let alone myself of that fact. Perhaps he’s the better champion because he beat Drake in a ladder match or that he beat Brad Kane? Does that make him better? Is he better because he lasted through the War match? Or is he better because he’s failed to live up to the responsibility that he inherited from that title? Maybe that’s why. Maybe he’s better because he left WAR without the title, maybe he’s better because he had to have the owner get the belt back for him. Maybe he’s better because he left D-Day out to dry in his tag match. A coward is only better when he has a place to run too but he’s simply got no where left to go. Now I’m in the ring, now that chorus is starting to hit him. He starts thinking that it really is futile to resist. He starts thinking that this is all wrong, this isn’t how it should be.
But..
There’s no time for that, the bells rung an he’s standing there with his pants down and his thoughts are scattered about. That bell rings an it takes him a moment to realize that. By that time though, its too late. I’m on the attack. I’m on offense an its going to take a lot on his part to change that. At Helloween he’s the sacrificial lamb for Seth’s “ revived “ WCF. If he really wants that hall of fame induction and take his place next to the supposed greats of this company then he’ll have to put a little bit more blood, sweat and tears into the mat. Too bad though that collateral doesn’t have a name, just a number. A statistic, a scratch mark.. Another brick in the wall. At Helloween Johnny Reb will fight for his life to stand out and make something meaningful of his career. Helloween will be the greatest night of life, the night that Odin Balfore graces that ring and does to him, the very same that I’ve done to those before him.
At Helloween, Johnny Reb is a well known, hall of fame bound “ superstar” but it’s Odin Balfore who will make him famous. I’ll make him famous like I did to everyone else who dared challenge me to a fight because that’s what this is a fight. This is a fight for his career because when he gets that precious little induction it’ll read : “ Johnny Reb, made famous by Odin Balfore. “
That’s what he really wants but I get my gold watch just the same because I will have shelved him indefinably just because what he stands for. I’ll pick him up, hit him with my mark, I’ll break his back over my knee, I’ll crush his skull to the point where al his thoughts and memories cease to exist because after I get through with him on Helloween.. He will cease to exist and he’ll have Seth to thank but only himself to blame as I capture the WCF world Title for a second time against another would be legend of WCF, only to find out that they’re just fodder to be fed to the monster, to the Bad Motha Fucka known as Odin Balfore.
After the dust clears, the bells ring an I’m dominated him worthless meat sack of a body and he’s staring up at those bright, harsh, unforgiving lights and he hears the ring announcer : “ And the winner of this match and the NEW WCF WORLD HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPION.. “ .. .. He’ll know that he.. Has lost.. Everything.
Dio Vindice.. But Odin Vili Vinna.. I will conquer
So I have spoken so it shall.. Come to.. Pass..
The Doc: Well thank you Odin. Folks, we have to take a quick commercial break, I'd like to thank Odin for being here with us and best f Luck at Helloween, on Halloween night, monday night. You can catch all the action LIVE ON PAY PER VIEW.. we'll be right back.

* the mic cuts off as the go off the air and the scene fades to black. *
