So it wasn’t in the cards for me to win. It was not my time to win the War, as the LORD hath chosen for me to wait until another time to step into the circle of greatest victory. But I know that the LORD is all powerful, and that if He does not want me to be victorious, my efforts are but hopeless. For His Holy Word reads:
LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?
He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart
who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts,
who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.
Now, this week I’m facing Aaron Miles, the self-labeled ‘Epitome of Cool’. Now, he had some strong words for me last week going toward the War, and I’m surprised that he’s been as quiet as he has this week, but that quietness is only humility sinking in as he realizes just how powerful the Lord can be, he is bowing down to him to accept him as his savior. Whether his profession of faith will truly help him in the ring or not, I do not know, for I have brought salvation to this company already, and the fans have accepted him into their lives, but Aaron Miles shall be saved if he truly confesses his sins and professes his faith to the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Lord, help me to fight this fight with strength and humility, to compete in a way that teaches your Holy Word o’ Lord. Please open the heart of Aaron Miles so that he may be saved by your grace and mercy, and please allow safety from injury for both of us competing in this match and for a successful match that makes the fans happy. Thank you Lord for all the blessings you have bestowed upon me and forgive my disobedience and unworthiness. Amen.
I worship my God and pray Daily, and with that prayer comes my opportunity to thank him for all that I’ve been given. What are you thankful for, Aaron? Are you thankful for the fact that you’ve got a job? Are you thankful that you’re facing someone like me who could go on to be famous? What about your fans, are you thankful or them?
I’m thankful for all of the above, Aaron, and I thank God for them every day. At the same time I thank him for the fact that I have the talents to compete in a business like this.
When this match comes, one of us will be the winner, and one of us will be the loser, and if my prayers are answered, the latter of the two will not be I. Good luck, Aaron, and I’ll see you out there.
Amen.
