The scene opens to the outside of the WCF Arena. The parking lots are filled with cars of all shapes and sizes, all colors and hues, and of all makes and models. The arena stands towering like a mountain over the otherwise flat surface of the ground outside the arena. There is a sidewalk that runs around the building that features two doors in front, two doors on each side, and multiple doors in the rear for staff entry, and a chain link fence surrounds the perimeter of the parking lot. There are several patches where bushes and shrubs are present along the outer walls of the building, but the area is predominantly paved over, and there is very little area with just grass and nothing else present there.
The camera proceeds across the parking lot, passing several fancy vehicles amongst the mass of cars, trucks, vans, and vehicles on its way to the doors in the rear of the building. It stops in particular as it catches glimpse of a fancy tiger orange Lamborghini Aventador with the engine running. The engine soon cuts, and the driver’s side door swings open. From that door steps a man in a sleeveless tee shirt and jeans, with his hat backwards and his sunglasses repositioned so that they rest on his forehead. That man is Roy Speede, and he wears a solemn look on his face as he closes and locks his vehicle, and then he opens his mouth to speak as the camera continues walking toward the building at a slower pace, moving backwards as it keeps the frame centered on Roy.
Roy Speede: “So here we are, less than six hours until the start of what will be one of the most populous, stress inducing, and perhaps dangerous matches in the history of the Wrestling Championship Federation. On this Monday night, the WCF is reopening its doors for the first time in over a month, and to a match that requires the very highest level of endurance from its competitors. And what more, ask you? Oh, it’s very simple, really. I plan on not only showing what simple Christian values can do for a man in need of help in his quest to praise his Lord, Jesus Christ our savior, but I plan on teaching those mindless critics what it truly means to fight for what you believe. I came to fight, I came to thrive, I came to conquer, and most of all, I came to win.
Now, some of you all have been trying to convince me that my efforts to convert those of you into believers have been in vain. I assure you, the Will of Christ is what separates those who are good from those who are great. It will be in the name of my Lord and Savior that I will take flight in this match and it is through his mercy that I am forgiven of my sins and have been persuaded to give my all for this match. I be not a Pope, nor a high-ranking religious official like some claim of me, but rather I am a servant of the almighty God. I have been saved by his grace and glory, and it is through he that I have learned to speak and act.
Doc Henry is but one of those people who now respects me as one who is above him in religious right, and I commend him on his efforts to acknowledge the love of Christ that burns with a passion within him, but he still has much to do to fully accept the almighty as his Lord and Savior. He has understood the error of his sloth and laziness and has taken a step toward remedying the error of the ways in which he has been slothful and refusing to make effort, but false claims of intentionally injuring people and ‘putting people down’ as if they are ‘diseased runts’ are what still holds him back from the true potential he has as a human being to choose what he believes. I will not deny him the right he has to believe that he will be a sadistic being and cause untold harm to people in this War match, but self-idolatry, bold arrogance, and ungodly claims will fail to aid him in his quest. He can keep telling himself he found his full potential inside of himself, but he has not opened up to Christ and accepted him to be his savior, and therefore he has not reached the full potential he holds inside of him.
Jay Williams has been all but silent, and humility is one of the greatest things he holds within him at this point in his life as he does not show many other signs of Christ. He did make the statement that he is better than our Lord and the seven sins he hath taught us are the most heinous of crimes against the Almighty god, claiming that he is better than those seven deadly sins. He is not better than our Lord and Savior. Nobody is better than our Lord and Savior. He can self-idolize just like Doc Henry if he so wishes, but I say again that self-idolatry will take him absolutely nowhere except straight to hell. He cannot repents his sins if he worships only himself above all others, and for that he shall burn for eternity in the fiery depths of hell.
Another who enjoys the thought of burning in the depths of hell is Oblivion. The so-called ‘Monster’ has claimed falsely time and time again that he is an almighty being and that he should be bowed down to and worshipped, but he is of evil and ungodly nature by heart, and only through admitting his sins to our Lord and asking for forgiveness, and by professing the good news of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ can Oblivion truly be saved, and then, and only then, will the Lord come to his side and guide him through a wrestling match. He may try all he wishes, but the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is what will truly make all the difference.
Brad Kane, a man I truly have come to respect over these past couple of months. I am truly impressed by his past, and he is one of the very few who shows his true heart even without the love of God there to guide him in his efforts. He shows how he has spent countless hours with his daughters and his family, and makes his family happy the very best he can, and that is one of the most honorable things to have been portrayed to the Wrestling Championship Federation fan base in any way, shape, or form, since I have been a member of the roster of competitors. He is, in all honesty, a very likely candidate to have great success in the War simply because the Lord looks with a smile upon those who put others before themselves. I used to have little respect for Brad Kane, and I regret not looking upon him as a better person merely because I could not see beyond the courageous and merciless exterior he presents in the wrestling ring. Facing him again would be an honor, but just because he has good morals does not mean he will be successful in the War. I wish him the best of luck, but it will be the Lord himself that decides on the outcome of this mach, and I hold the Lord on my side.
And finally I come to a man who has yet to make a name for himself in the ring, and yet consistently runs his mouth preaching about how he is the “Epitome of Cool”, a man who is more simply known as Aaron Miles. Aaron, I don’t know you, nor do I feel the need to know you, but you, much like the others, fail to repent your sins. You remain there preaching ungodly things and saying that I am a fool for following Christ and his teachings, you repeat the same procedure I have already performed to tell me of my sins, and yet you are on your own a hypocrite as well. I am no hypocrite, Aaron, for I know I have sinned, and I ask the Lord to forgive them, and so he does.
Yes, Aaron, I do desire to win this match, and I do indeed desire to become the World Heavyweight Champion, but unlike you, I have professed these sins to the Lord, and he has forgiven them. I repent my sins, and for that I shall be saved and shall remain in good standing with God, where as you have not only failed to repent your own sins, but tear down others for ungodly reasons with no suggestion to change. I did indeed list reasons ways in which Creeping Death, the former owner of the Wrestling Championship Federation has sinned, and I tell you again, manipulating the entire company for his own selfish gain was a terrible crime against all of us in the WCW, but I do so to tell him that in repenting his sins, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will forgive him of his sins and the blood on his hands will once again be washed clean. And I, too, am washed clean because I repent my sins, and the Lord helps me through each and every day because I hold him to be the one true Savior above all others. You, however, do not, and because you cannot commit yourself to the Lord and Savior, you will die, while those who have repented their sins will live for eternity in Heaven.”
Roy opens the door to the building, letting the cameraman enter first, and then enters himself, closing the door after him. He continues walking about the building as the camera keeps focus on him.
Roy Speede: “You are, however, right Aaron. My full focus isn’t on the match itself. My focus is on winning the match for the glory of God. Should it be the Lord’s will that I be the victor in this match, I owe all credit for my victory to Him, and to Him alone be the glory.”
The first door Roy comes to as he turns down a hallway has a gold nameplate on it. The name plate reads ‘H. Brown, Interviewer’. Roy stops at the door and knocks, and then opens the door a moment later. Inside sitting at a desk with his feet propped up on one corner of the desk is the interviewer himself, Hank Brown.
Hank Brown: “Well now, if it ain’t Roy Speede showin’ up at my door. Good to see ya, lad! What can I do for you?”
Roy Speede: “Well, Hank, I figure that since everybody and their brother feels they ought be formal about how they say stuff and coming to you, I might as well do so too. Basically what I’m saying is, would you mind giving me an interview slot a few minutes before the show please?”
Hank Brown: “Sure, Roy. Of course! I don’t turn down clients an interview unless there is literally no possible way to interview said person... Hold up, did you say please? I ain’t never heard that one before from you! What’s up with you?”
Roy Speede: “Well, Hank, while we were away on break, I found Christ, and have welcomed him into my life. He hath changed me, and I am but his servant, working to change the WCF, one person at a time.”
Hank Brown: “Ahh. Well, good luck with that, man. I don’t think you’ll have too much luck with that around here though.”
Roy Speede: “You’re right, I haven’t had any at all to this point. But I hope success in the War match will bring religious success to me as well. But anyway, if you’re going to be interviewing me on camera, the set might be a bit better than your office, if you don’t mind my saying so. The way I’ve been getting lost along the path toward life with Christ, I’ll let you lead the way though.”
Hank Brown: “Again, sure thing, Roy-O.”
Hank gets up from his chair, rather slowly, and steps out of the office. Roy follows, and Hank locks the door to his office behind him, and then they proceed down one of the many winding corridors of the WCF arena. As they go, they talk a bit.
Hank Brown: “So anyway, what all did you think needed to be covered in the interview? Anyone in particular you feel should be highlighted?”
Roy Speede: “No, I don’t believe there is anyone I need to highlight, Hank. Thanks though.”
They come to a stop, and Hank motions toward an X on the floor that appears to have been made by two pieces of white masking tape lazily placed anywhere the person who placed them could manage to have dropped them on the floor. Roy stands on his spot, and Hank on his, and the camera cuts to a more official looking camera as Hank starts to speak.
Hank Brown: “Good evening ladies and gentlemen. As always, I am Hank Brown, and I bring to you my guest at this time, none other than ‘The Silver Lining’, Roy Speede. Now, Roy, how do you feel about the return of the WCF? What changes should they make, and what have they already done that you don’t approve of?”
Roy Speede: “Well, Hank, first of all, thank you for so graciously giving me the opportunity to speak this evening, I’m very excited to be back among the WCF locker rooms and hearing the WCF fans cheering me on. I can barely hold off the anticipation and excitement toward competing in my first War match tonight in front of all the fans, and I’m even more excited to finally get the chance to work for Seth Lerch, and see exactly what his style of running the company was that made is phenomenal before he left a while ago. I’m sure he’ll change the company for the better, and I am most confident that there will be no problems with the way he runs things and the way he changes things. One thing I am not that fond of, however, is that he shelved all of the titles to start anew, and now I do not have my Tag Team Championship belt. I do look to try and achieve even better tonight, and that’s the World Heavyweight Championship.”
Hank Brown: “I understand that you recently came to a new conclusion about the style by which you have chosen to live your life, and that’s affected you quite a bit. What’s up with that, exactly?”
Roy Speede: “While we were away, I found God, and I have accepted him into my life as my Lord and Savior, and it is in his name that I have come back to the WCF with the rest of the company to profess the good news of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I preach to you the word of the Lord as I have learned it myself, that we are the sheep of his pasture and we are His, and His alone. Psalm Twenty-Three says:
‘The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul.
He leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; for thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil;
My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.’
And surely I tell you that he leadeth me, and he protecteth me from danger, from harm, and he hath blessed me. It is his goodness and mercy that shall indeed follow me, and it shall be mercy bestowed upon me through his might working the hands of others. I fear no evil, for He is with me, and I have nothing to fear with him in my life. Oblivion, Odin, Doc Henry, all of your efforts to make me cower in fear are futile, for I have the Lord to guide and protect me!”
Hank Brown: “Oh... kay... Anyway, who do you consider your biggest threats in the War match?”
Roy Speede: “I’m sorry to disappoint you, Hank, but there are not threats, only opponents of varying skill levels. I believe those with the best chances of winning are Odin Balfore, Brad Kane, Logan, Johnny Reb, and Jay Williams. They are all very skilled and have proven themselves in that very WCF ring time and time again, but chance mean nothing, and they may all have a ‘shot at winning this. I wish all of them the best of luck, and all the competitors the best of luck, but I still feel that without God, the odds are definitely stacked against all of them. Therefore, I feel my chances are significant merely because God is on my side. But anyway, I do have to go pray before the match begins. Thank you for your time, Hank, and thank you for listening, WCF Fans. I’ll see you all in the War.”
Roy hands Hank his microphone back, and Roy walks away at a rather heightened pace. The camera follows him, and he goes into his locker room, leaving the door open for the camera. He kneels down, bows his head, and folds his hands.
Roy Speede: “Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for all of the blessings you have bestowed upon me. Thank you for my job, thank you for the opportunity to perform for the fans of the WCF, thank you for the opportunity to wrestle against some of the best wrestlers in the world, thank you for the blessings of food, drink, shelter, clothing, family, and friends, and thank you for blessing me with your Holy Word. Please watch over all the participants in the War match and keep them safe from severe injury. Please alleviate the suffering of all those in trouble or need. Please keep my family and friends safe, and keep everyone safe. Please assist me with professing your word so that I may do so more fully and so that I may influence those that have not yet seen your abundant love and mercy. Thank you for giving me life, O’ Lord. In the name of your son, Jesus Christ, Amen.”
Roy stands up, and the scene cuts to black as he removes his shirt, presumably to change into his ring gear.
