" Importance of Power"
RP1
WCF-Slam!
WCF Title Match
Odin Balfore ( c )
vs.
D-Day
_________________________________________
Scene One- “ Of Fate “
( A Monologue )
Strength comes from possession, integrity comes from passion and passion comes from pride. In WCF, where do all those things fall into place? As the WCF Champion, what do you have to be prideful for? For Odin Balfore, nearly nothing. He’s gained what he has because he has strength and that’s where his integrity lies. When he captured the WCF World title three weeks ago, he did it because he saw the current state of WCF, a state that still hasn’t changed and he capitalized on it.
Three weeks have passed and WCF is still the same, all but for one thing. A few good men. Phillips Baines and Ryan Banks are two men that see how things play out in WCF and are two men that are frankly sick of it. Joining forces with Odin Balfore they are the strongest group in WCF and right now they have their sights set on the status quote that the talent seek to establish.
Odin had taken the former champion and shelved him for two weeks, the idea that if your not the top then you aint nothing in WCF, whose been instilled by a man with lucky shots and few matches that test his true versatility. The match at Ultimate Showdown would test the true potential and mettle of Donald Deruty and he came up short. You can’t deny it, there’s no two ways around it. What Odin Balfore did was come in and show what it takes to make a true champion. D-Day never led the locker room, if he did then the antics that are happening, wouldn’t be happening. In fact the best thing to happen in WCF with in the past month, has come at the hands of Odin Balfore.
The title changing hands to a more competent and proficient talent.
The making of history
Sidelining the former “ head” of the locker room
Creating an Alliance with the top two stars in WCF
The next? Standing toe to toe against D-day with out interference, with out any other “ X” factors and letting him know that there’s no such thing with a fluke with Odin Balfore, just Fate.

Scene Two: “ The importance of Power”
* The scene opens to Odin Balfore standing before three mirrors. One of the mirrors are right in front of him while the other two are staggered off to peripheral sides. Odin stands in this undisclosed darkened room, with a light source some feet behind him, illuminating the immediate area around him and the mirrors. Dressed in his ring gear with the WCF title around his right shoulder an a smirk on his face he takes a moment to admire himself before breaking his silence. *
Odin: What are you thinking about Donald ? Here it is, the most precious thing you’ve ever had in your career. Yet here it is, on my shoulder. What was that you said about the US title.. YOUR US title; that it only produces mid card talent? Well I got all the angles on you D-Day.
* Odin takes a moment to slowly point to each of the mirrors. *
Odin: You’re right. The US title only produces mid card talent and that’s ultimately what you are. Now, now, I know your gonna sit there and argue that I got lucky or that because we didn’t fight one on one, that it didn’t count but who are you trying to fool? From where I stand, it’s looking like Donald Deruty is only trying to fool Donald Deruty. The fact that the last time we met, you dismissed me because of the company I kept and the title I held shows that you’re incapable of strategizing towards your given opponent. What are you going to say now, because I got the proof right here.
* Odin taps the title. *
Odin: Did I get lucky? No. I hit two finishers on you, I pinned you clean. Did I catch you off guard, where you getting the flu, did you have a death in the family? Was your mind else where ? What excuses are you going to play up to the world as to why you lost the WCF World title. You’re excuses aren’t why I’m here D-day. I’m standing here in front of three mirrors because a man see’s himself as the man he was, is and will be. What’s the man that you used to be? The young, hopeful kid, pushing for scraps, trying to prove himself and waiting for his shot? Not too experienced but not too experienced. Then there’s the man that you are- still pretty much the man that you used to be because you don’t feel that you’re the best in the WCF.
So what ever you feel that you’ve gained, you’ve lost when you lost to me. So here you are, back to my left at the man that you used to be. You’re hungry, you want to prove what you can do, sure you’ve gained some experience but you’ve also gained a psychological fall. you’ve been defeated, you’ve been beat up, you were out of action for two weeks and then when you came back, you got beat up again. The man on my left D-Day isn’t looking all that good. The man on my left D-Day, is also the man in front of me and will be in front of me come Monday. On Monday you have battle after battle, after battle. You have all these internal X- Factors that will work against you because you can’t seem to overcome what you were to become what you should be. Maybe perhaps this IS what you’re meant to be. Where do you go from here D-Day with the US title; the title that only produces mid card champions? Do you along with Roy Speede and FPV, go to star bucks and get coffee, sitting around talking about all these little blips of success that you’ve had over the YEARS that you’ve had in WCF ? D-Day, I look at these three mirrors an I see a man who refuses to change with the notion that he doesn’t need to.
* Suddenly the mirrors start to change fro Odin’s complexion to D-Days. The left mirror shows a slightly younger man then the front one an a slightly older D-day in the mirrors off to Odin’s right. *
You have no future D-day because you can’t get out of your past an this, even now with the US title.. You’ve fallen into your own trap but you go and shoot your mouth off about me getting lucky or how this time will be different or that I’m not the true champion. What ever leg you had to stand on to get here, is gone. So tell me, champ? How’s the man that you were just a few months and subsequently the same man you are now going to become the man that you so desperately want to be? We know about your past but your present it looking just as grim. Am I your redemption? Gee.. Hehe. I bet you never thought you’d say that, did you? Face it D-Day, your time, though short in WCF has come to an end. You’ve had your time to shine in the fading light of greater men. The men that you fought have retired, gone away.. Names that bare no significance anymore and frankly, never will. You had the chance at Ultimate Showdown to take your stand against the one person that would actually rough you up and you failed. That right there stunted and caped off the man that you stride so hard to be. Doesn’t that tell you something; it tells me a lot. It tells me at Monday night Slam, that your going to be either the same man I buried a few weeks ago or the shell of the man that I buried a few weeks ago, either way D-Day you have weakness for me to prey upon and rip away at. You have zero direction, zero confidence and yes, that might make you a tougher opponent but that leads you to fumble and me to capitalize. You want to prove to me that this guy right here-
* Odin points to the mirror on his right, the future D-Day appears. *
Odin: can over come the man back here.
* The left mirror shows D-Day again but the front mirror stays blank, reflecting Odin. *
Odin: That’s leaves right now, the present, Monday night where Donald Deruty must fight Donald Deruty while fighting Odin Balfore for the fading light that he once had but what you don’t have this time, is MY light. You see D-Day, what ever I can say about you.. It’s already been said. Monday night is YOUR redemption but you have no redeeming qualities. All that you have is what we see before me right now, a man running from mirror to mirror trying to play catch up, trying to beat himself and STILL continuing to prove to everyone why he is and should be the champion.
Nothing’s changed, of that you can be absolutely sure. We all know it. We all know that you aren’t any different from a few weeks ago so don’t try to spin it like that. You’re not, hungry, confident, determined, dangerous, zealous, masterful or even knowledgeable. If you were ANY of those things you would have shown them by now when you WERE WCF Champion but you were too busy trying to prove to everyone why you should be it an I just went right in there and took it from you because I’m the only guy that can see threw each and everyone wrestler in this company, that’s why I’m holding this title and your not.
You need this title to feel important. So that everyone can look at you an say “ there goes the champ.” So that people will pay attention to you but they aren’t doing that anymore, they won’t care to do it anymore and you’ll just fade away into obscurity like Oblivion and Doc Henry. it’s the importance that no one looks up to you. For me, people have been looking up to me for as long as I can remember. What this title means to me is..
Nothing. ..
I’m the same guy with or with out it all it does is put me in charge of the roster an if some guy comes rooting into WCF, claiming to be some sort of hot shot and wants to take a crack at the champion, I’m that guy D-Day, not you an lets be honest; if you like me or not people will want me to take on a challenge rather then you. Why; because you’re insecure, unfocused, you lack confidence and direction. Heart doesn’t win you matches, it wins you trips to the hospital. Every time you wana get back up, that’s more opportunity for me and slam you back down. You’re an obstacle of misdirection, you’re not a champion, you never were. You never can be, even when you have that title in your possession you never acted like one. What are you gonna do if someone or something comes into WCF and tries to take it away; beat them with heart? Go sit around a fucking campfire and sing folk songs, maybe roast a few marshmallows and get drunk off O’Doul’s? No, fuck no.. I have among many things the attributes that you lack to lead a company, to shape a company but one of the things I have is the ability to be a bad motha fucker, with a short tempter and a iron fist. More importantly I have what you never will..
* The lights in the room slowly click on with a deep echo to reveal that Odin’s in a large ware house. Each row of lights that click on in rows, extending out an away from Odin reveals more and more mirrors scattered in fanned out rows. Each mirror shows Different parts of Odin from various angles and with varying degrees of lighting. *
Odin: I have depth. What else you got to stand on D-Day? You got nothing. Monday night will be a repeat of a few weeks ago when I jack you up and smash you over my knee like a step child on the first of the month. Right now D-Day you’re 0 for two against me with nothing but an uphill battle to go through. You be good to remember though D-day, I’m not the champion because I have this title on my shoulder but because I’m the only wrestler in WCF with all these depth and angles to me. While you have only these…
* The lights cut back off to the original three mirrors in front of Odin. *
Odin: and good luck D-day trying to prove to everyone that you have just as much depth as I do with out this title because you couldn’t do it before an you certainly won’t be able to do it now. At slam when we meet, last time I was aiming to hurt you, this time. I’ll end your career like the other four I ended who you were just like you. They tried to make three angles look like three million but their past, present and future all ended up the same.. In the shadow of the Maverick Elite.
Ragnarok’s come for you D-Day and it shall not be kind because the importance of power isn’t the object that gives it to you but how YOU use it and D-Day you’ll see just how well I can when for the third time in a row, I crack your back over my knee, lift you back up and slam you on your skull. Its about making a statement, creating change, taking everything you know and making it non exsistent. Monday night will be end of Donald Deruty, the end of the shameful era that made him champion and the start of something much more with me leading the way..
And it WILL be epic.
* the lights cut out on Odin and all that’s left is Odin laughing with a deep bellied laugh as the scene cuts out. *
