The scene opens on the WCF Interview room, and standing there is none other than Hank Brown, in his funky suit, holding a microphone. Beside them is none other than Roy Speede, wearing a dark gray Simple Plan tee shirt and blue jeans. Hank holds the microphone up to his mouth.
Hank Brown: “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with one half of the new tag team champs, Roy Speede! So Roy, how does it feel to once again get your hands on one of the tag belts?”
Roy Speede: “Well, Hank, it’s amazing. And having daddy Logan be the one to lose his team the match made it even better to have won them. I’m sorry that D-Day got caught in the crossfire after the match though; he’s one of the guys in this business I really respect as a wrestler and an opponent.”
Hank Brown: “What about the fact that you’re teaming with the guy who started what seemed to be a cold streak for you, Mr. FPV? He beat you in the semis of the WCF Classic in April, and since then, you haven’t been doing so well. Do you still have a grudge against him?”
Roy Speede: “I’m not one to usually hold a grudge, but that loss hurt me; all is forgiven, though. After his performance in the tag titles match last week, I’m not gonna hold a grudge against him for what happened two and a half months ago.”
Hank Brown: “Another thought that’s been on a lot of minds lately; what’s going on between you and Aubrey Summers? Is it strictly business, or are you two like... dating or something?”
Roy Speede: “I’ll be completely honest with you Hank, Aubrey and I have gone on a couple dates now, and I have to say, I’m really enjoying spending time with her. She’s a really friendly girl, and I honestly don’t know how I could be so lucky as to date her. But one thing I do know, however, is that Kaylyn James Evans has been treating Aubrey in such a callous, menial, sadistic manner ever since Aubrey first came to the Wrestling Championship Federation, and it’s gone far enough. That degenerate needs to stop treating my girlfriend as if she were a second-class citizen. Aubrey is like royalty to me, and if Kaylyn doesn’t learn to treat her with kindness and respect, there will be consequences.”
Hank Brown: “Those are some strong words toward Kaylyn James Evans, Roy. A couple weeks ago, you were actually seen on a date with her; what made you decide to turn on her in the first place?”
Roy Speede: “Hank, when I first met Kaylyn, she was just posing as that beautiful sweetheart girl that everyone wants to get with; that ruse drew me in and got me to take her out for dinner, and I am ashamed that I fell for it now that I see how she really is. Now that I see her for what she really is, I can’t stand her because of her cruelty and self-centeredness. She lured me into her trap and made me think I was a friend to her, and then when I asked her to do me a favor and leave Aubrey alone, she went and stepped her bullying up a notch to amuse herself! She proved it to me right there that she doesn’t give a damn about anybody other than herself alone. She’s manipulating Corey because it gets her what she wants, and she has every guy on the roster, with the exception of me, drooling over her trying to get to bed with her. The only reason she’s got that title belt around her waist after a full month of defenses is because Creeping Death is getting more head from Kaylyn than he could get from the vast majority of America’s cabbage farmers!”
Hank Brown: “Uh... Are we allowed to say that on live television?”
Roy Speede: “I honestly don’t give a damn! You got me started on explaining why Kaylyn needs to go die in a pit, and I’m sure as hell gonna finish saying what I gotta say!”
There is a dramatic pause.
Hank Brown: “Well?”
Roy Speede: “Ask me a question, Hank! I’m trying not to let my anger get me to say anything I’ll regret, and the utter silence on your part ain’t helping!”
Hank Brown: “Calm down, Roy; getting worked up about it now is pointless.”
Roy Speede: “Well ask me a question or something to get my mind on a different topic.
Hank Brown: “Okay, okay! You said you’re dating Aubrey Summers, and she’s got a match this week that’s a preview of the elimination match at Ultimate Showdown. In that same match is your tag team partner, Mr. FPV. I’d have to imagine you’ll be paying close attention to this match, all things assuming, and I have to ask; who are you pulling for in this match?”
Roy Speede: “Hank, of all the questions you could’ve asked, you had to bring this up and make me choose a side? It’s not all that difficult, really, Hank. Franky is my tag team partner; I don’t want him to get injured or beaten badly, but I’m sure that he’ll stand up for himself in any situation he gets himself into regarding any of his opponents in that match. Aubrey is my girlfriend, and had the most impressive debut I’ve ever seen last week. But with Kaylyn lurking in the shadows, I’m worried about her. If at all possible, I want to be there at ringside to back her up.”
Hank Brown: “Well, it’s rather honorable to defend your girlfriend, Roy... Anyway, your opponent this week is uh...”
Roy Speede: “Hank, do you expect me to give a damn who my opponent this week is? I don’t; I really don’t. I have already heard her comments, and they don’t impress me a bit. This is miss “I learned from Owen Hart and my skills got me titles elsewhere” we’re talking about here; first off, this is the Wrestling Championship Federation, not a piece-of-shit Indy company. If she want anyone to give a damn about her accomplishments, she’s going to need accomplish those things here!
And another thing that puzzles me about that girl is why the heck she’s so quiet. If she’s a former champ, she’d better act like it; humility only gets you so far in this business, and I learned quickly to be proud of my accomplishments. If you’re going to bring up that you’re a former hardcore champion, you might as well be proud of it, whether you won it from Phillip Baines, or whether you got it while wrestling on a trampoline in the backyard with your grandmother! If you’re too timid to show some pride, don’t even mention your previous career within the business. If you’re going to be a proud former champ, then say it like you’re proud of it!”
Hank Brown: “So what you’re saying is, she needs to grow an ego?”
Roy Speede: “No, but I’m saying she needs to stop making it look like she doesn’t know how to act in front of a camera! One minute she’s bragging, and the next she’s quiet and timid. And if she has that much trouble just speaking in front of a camera, I couldn’t imagine how terrible she would be actually wrestling in front of millions upon millions of fans week in and week out. And if she can’t come to her senses and get her head straight on her shoulders, then it’s her fault. I’m going toward our match this week with my mind firmly focused on winning the match, and if she doesn’t pay some attention, there’s no way she’s going to get a win. The Silver Lining’s got this.”
Roy drops the microphone and walks away. The scene cuts to black.
