Cameras Fade In:
Scene opens up to the hospital and Chuck Watson and "Sweet" Willy Carter are both seen in the waiting room, still waiting on news about Boone. They have been there for what seems like hours today. "Sweet" Willy Carter is talking on his cell phone with Adam Knite and explaining to him about Boone's condition. He finally clicks his phone off and Chuck begins to speak.
Chuck Watson: So....what did you actually think of Rich "The Xtreme One" Marciano's latest promo?
"Sweet" Willy Carter: What did I think of it? Let me just put it to you this way....he's a complete moron for bashing on Davey Boone....and after all that Boone's done for him through the years. All I can say is....if he goes into his tag team title match alone....win or lose....he's going to get his ass kicked...bad.
Chuck Watson: Yeah....I do hope he pulls it off though. I will admit, they are damn good champs, but I think it's time for a change...and besides, they got it coming to them for what they did to tvo. I mean, I'm really getting sick and tired of Jerk-off Williams and the Big Red Machine, Kane, being the tag team champs. .....(laughs to himself a bit)....that was pretty good wasn't it?
"Sweet" Willy Carter: Well...hmm...alright. Not bad for starters. I'll give that to you.
Chuck Watson: So I'm curious. What exactly did the doctors mean when they told you that Boone was mumbling something about the "so called" Shadow Riders? What does he have to do with it?
"Sweet" Willy Carter: Well...when I told you the story, I basically told it the way Craven told me. The only thing is...he left some things out. For instance, when Craven was mugged by those bikers, it was Davey Boone who ran the bikers off. You see, he was there visiting with a good friend of his...you'll know him as Adam Knite. It was Boone who got Craven to the hospital.
Chuck Watson: (shocked) Oh man....I can't believe I didn't even think about that. Of course....and that's how they met right?
"Sweet" Willy Carter: Yep. While Craven was in the hospital, Boone visited him once...now what for...I don't really know. But, I do know that Boone left shortly after his visit with Craven. When Johnny Craven finally got out of the hospital a month or so later, he took to hiding. As mentioned before, the only thing his parents left him was a bike. You see, it was his dad's bike. His dad was always good to him. It was his mom who wanted to leave Craven, and unfortunately, his dad was forced to leave as well.
Chuck Watson: Oh. That does explain a lot. Why did his dad have a bike?
"Sweet" Willy Carter: Well, his dad also rode with a gang when he was younger. Craven never did tell me which gang...oh well. Johnny Craven's dad knew he loved the bike, so before he left, he made sure that Craven got the bike. He hid it in a friend's garage and told them to make sure they find Johnny Craven and give him the bike, once he got out of the hospital. Anyways, when Craven got out of the hospital, he took to hiding, and eventually, the friend found Craven and gave him his bike. Whenever he got it, there was a note left on it. The note read as follows: Johnny Craven....your a man of few words. I know about your past...and I know your fears. You fear the world and the depravity that lurks within it. The longer you run...the longer it's going to haunt you. The answer lies within the shadows that you so fear. But in order to conquer it...you must ride within it.
Chuck Watson has a puzzled look on his face, so Willy Carter explains it in layman's terms.
"Sweet" Willy Carter: What that means, is that Johnny Craven had to ride within the shadows....and what better way than to ride in the night. So therefore, Craven began riding at night. He too was puzzled at the meaning of the letter...but the one thing he understood, was that it was signed...Davey Boone. Apparently, Boone just happened by the garage where Craven's bike was kept and recognized it and talked to the guy who ran the garage. Boone gave the guy the note and made sure he attached it to Craven's bike. Now, the note had a little more to it. The note also read: it is within those shadows that Johnny Craven would become one with the riders of the night....or as they are more widely known as the Shadow Riders.
Chuck Watson: So are these "shadow riders" like ghosts or something?
"Sweet" Willy Carter: No. Like Craven said....they are but mere restless souls searching for answers. They just freak people out by the way they look and because of the fact that they only ride at night. You've seen Lord of the Rings right?
Chuck Watson: Yeah. In fact, I've seen all three of them......damn good movies too.
"Sweet" Willy Carter: Well, then if you remember the Ring Wraiths....that's what people think of when they describe the Shadow Riders. They describe them as being in a zombie--like trance...and they describe them as appearing like, as mentioned before, apparitions. They say that the riders are just there and then (snaps fingers) they're gone...vanished. So you see, it was Davey Boone who told Craven to ride with the Shadow Riders...and not to be outdone...Davey Boone has been rumored to have ridden with the Shadow Riders as well.
Chuck Watson: And you actually believe all that bullshit? If you ask me, it ain't nothing but hot air blowing out a story teller's ass.
"Sweet" Willy Carter: Well, believe what you want to believe. I ain't going to try to change your mind. You're just going to have to see them for yourself I guess. I still ain't seen them, but that don't mean that I don't believe it.
Chuck Watson: Do you?
"Sweet" Willy Carter just shakes his head and gets up and walks outside for some fresh air. Willy Carter goes outside and looks up into the night sky. As he is doing this, the scene fades into somewhere in the world, where Craven is seen sitting in a dark room, with that crazed look on his face and smiling that same sickly smile. The whispers from before are still heard, only this time, they are louder. Eventually, Craven's name is heard and repeated slowly in a loud whisper. The scene then fades out.
