The scene begins on a cool summer evening in Downtown San Diego. Danny Vice and his two siblings, Jimmy and Janie, are driving in Jimmy's white Escalade on their way to dinner to celebrate Danny's in-ring debut for the WCF this coming Sunday at Slam in a match against Chino.
Jimmy acts and looks in similar manner to his older brother. Many say Jimmy idolizes Danny's take on life, that every day is in opportunity. Life should not be taken for granted, so take advantage of anything and anyone to get the most out of it. He wears a long sleeved red RVCA shirt with a black falcon across the right shoulder and pectoral. He wears baggy black jeans and a backward all black Padres baseball cap to cover his shaved head. Jimmy also has several facial piercings and full-sleeved tattoos on both arms. He's about 6'0'' tall and around 245 pounds. Although shorter than his older brother, he has a much thicker build to him.
Jimmy drives, while Danny rides shotgun. Jimmy's twin sister Janie sits in the backseat. She stands out from the other two. She's a long-haired, attractive blonde of about 5'8". Although Jimmy is an aspiring wrestler, Janie is merely a supporter of her two brothers' dreams. She dresses with a similar chic and trends of her Southern California surfer lifestyle.
The three sit rather quietly in the car while the latest Underoath album plays. Danny simply stares out the window at the bright lights radiating from the Omni Hotel. The Omni stands just next to Petco Park and is the gold standard for the San Diego skyline.
Danny: What do you think it would be like to base jump off the top of the Omni?
Jimmy: That would be pretty incredible. If you went midday without the nightly ocean breeze, you could land right out in centerfield of Petco.
Janie shakes her head that her brothers would even contemplate such an act. The Escalade pulls up in front of Fleming's Steakhouse. Jimmy valets the car and the three of them walk inside.
The restaurant has slightly dimmed lighting. As one of the nicer steakhouse chains in America, the Vice brothers looks slightly out of dress code. Danny is wearing a torn tight grey t-shirt with blue jeans and a long black leather trenchcoat. Janie figures since she is the one in the nice white summer dress, she should talk to the hostess. Danny stops her as she is about to open her mouth, signaling to her he will handle it.
Ya, the Vagrant is here with his brother and sister. We have reservations for three. Tonight we celebrate the Vagrants debut.
The hostess nods her head, then looks over at her co-workers and mouths "who is this?' to them.
Hostess: Sir. I'm terribly sorry to ask you, but who is the Vagrant?
Vice's demeanor changes instantly. He places both hands on the hostess stand and leans in very closely.
The Vagrant is the newest superstar of the WCF. The Vagrant is debuting on Slam this Sunday against Chino. The Vagrant just silenced Skyler Striker. The Vagrant is the most important customer you will deal with tonight, honey. So, the Vagrant suggests that you take your overpriced dress, cliche little shoes, and Supercuts cookie-cutter haircut, and go get his table before he takes his important business elsewhere!
Of course sir, let me make sure your table is ready.
Jimmy laughs as his older brother takes care of what he sees as minor nuisance. Janie has a look of horror that her brother would be so inconsiderate. Danny turns back toward his siblings with a small smile on his face.
Excuse me sir, but were on Slam last week?
So you did recognize the Vagrant. The Vagrant was on last week, but not in a match. The Vagrant was the one with the sweatshirt on.
Ya, why did you attack that Skyler Striker?
Listen, sweetcheeks. Have you paid attention to that Skyler Striker lately? Skyler Striker is a nuisance. Skyler Striker is a pest. Skyler Striker is exactly the type of disease-ridden vermin that is poisoning the WCF. All he does is go on and on and on about how great he is. He says he is "The Fatebringer" and that he is undefeated in XYZ, ABC, DRE, and RunDMC federation. Name-drop this overrated opponent. Show clips of matches against that handicapped opponent. Skyler Striker has no business working in the same company as The Vagrant. Skyler Striker has absolutely no business being in the same industry as The Vagrant!
Danny stares at the hostess in the eyes for a few seconds. She has leaned back from his as if she was worried about him spitting on her during his sermon. Danny relaxes, and stands straight up again. He takes in a deep breath-in to calm himself.
I dunno. I think he's kind of cute.
Danny's face begins to get red with anger and he lifts his arm as if he was about to bring it down hard upon the stand before Janie interrupts.
Janie: I agree, Skyler is a good-looking guy. But that doesn't change the fact that he's doing a whole lot of talking so far with a guy who hasn't accomplished very much in the WCF. My brother entirely respects Skyler as a person, but does not appreciate his mindless and repetitive banter.
Janie's interruption seemed to be enough to calm Danny down, and her response seemed to be enough for the hostess to also be content. The hostess grabs three menus from beneath the stand and leads the Vice family to their table.
