Thursday Morning. Around noon.
- Bright, sunny day. A man in blue jeans with black Nike shoes. White t-shirt underneath an unbuttoned button up shirt. A necklace around his neck. It's Torture. Torture, just standing there, looks up.
- We notice a sign on a building. It reads "THE DOCTORS MEDICAL CENTER".
..Last time I was here, I was rolled in by Medical staff. I was soon rolled out by my ex-bestfriend..
- In Tortures left hand is a small thing of a flowers. Torture walks into the Medical Center. He turns the corner and walks down the small hallway. He walks up to the girl at the desk. She turns upward... and notices Torture.
Girl:.. OH... OH MY GAWD!.. OH MY! You're.. YOU'RE... YOU...
Tort: Yes.
Girl:.. I'm so.. sorry.. I didn't know what he was going to do... I..
Tort: It's okay.
- Torture hands the flowers to the girl. She looks at them and then looks back at Torture.
Tort: For The Doctor's Wife. Tell her I'm sorry.
Least I could have done.. for the Doctor that was there from the beginning.
- Torture slides his sunglasses back on and turns around. Tort takes a few steps. He stops as soon as he hears the girls voice.
Girl: I'm.. sor..sorry.
- Torture doesn't even look at her when he speaks. Just turns his face to the side.
Torture: Don't be. Not your fault. Just go about your day.
- He walks down the hallway and turns the corner to the front doors. He walks outside.
one more stop.. right down the street.
- Torture walks to the sidewalk, where a Bus is waiting for people to get on and off of it. Torture steps on. He stands in the middle, only because he has to go down the street. With his sunglasses on, Torture notices a family of four. A man and his wife, and two daughters. For 30 seconds, nothing is heard. Everything is silent. Actually, nothing exists but Torture. The bus is gone. The people are gone. The family is gone. Torture is floating in mid air. A man speaking into the Bus Phone System breaks the silence. Torture notices everything and everyone again.
This should be my stop.
Loud Speaker: WE ARE NOW STOPPING AT FIRST STREET
- The Bus slows before coming to a complete stop. Two elder ladies step off and Torture follows suit. He walks through a parking lot thats pretty much empty except for the three or four cars that are visible and spaced out. He gets to the front doors and the scene fades out. It's now visible Torture is at a church.
- A new scene opens up with Torture walking inside, meeting a Christian Pastor.
Pastor: How are you doing Torture.
- Torture just takes off his sunglasses. He just looks at the Pastor.
Pastor: Right.. stupid question. Please sit down.
- They both have a seat. About 2 minutes of awkward silence, finally Torture speaks up.
Torture: Why? Why did I survive? If I would have known the outcome, I would have wished to die. Everyday I wish to die. I regret waking up in the morning. When I roll out of my bed, I wonder what life would be like if none of this would have happened. I want to rewind. Why? Why am I still alive. Why didn't I die too?
Pastor: Well... It must have been the man upstairs reason. His passion. His motive to keep you here on Earth. He wants you to find reason in life, Torture. Now, I don't know why yet, but the reason will be right infront of you soon enough. It has to be. He speaks in ways we know. Torture, I suggest you go home get rest.
- Pastor stands up and pats Torture on the back whose sitting in a pew. Torture bends down and puts his head in his hands, which his elbows are sitting on his knees. He puts his hands together and prays.
God.. I come to you a humble man. I don't know much about you, or how you work, but I know you work. On that day, I was left to die. I was dead. I woke up. Alive. I don't know much inbetween. I do know however, that I woke up sometime after my family was killed. So why. Why did you put me back on this Earth? What is the reason..... DAMN IT...
- Torture just looks up with tears coming down his eyes. The scene slowly fades out.
