We fade into Skyler’s personal gym, where Skyler is blasting away at a punching bag. He is talking to himself as he continues punching.
SS: Vagrant.. Vice.. Daniel.. Showdown..
Skyler finally lands a massive right hand on the punching bag, and stops. He grabs his water bottle from behind him and takes a long drink, then pours the remainder of the water onto his head. He shakes it off and resumes his attack on the bag, except his talking is now delivered to the camera, and is in literate sentences, besides having the tone of an intense madman.
SS: Vagrant, The Fatebringer doesn’t think you understand him at all. I have experienced more pain in my 23 years of life than you could know. I started wrestling at the age of sixteen, and I took more than my fair share of punishment. At one point I had a broken arm, fractured shin and a broken nose, all at the one time, due to a mishap that occurred when one of my students threw me through five tables from the roof. That was my blunder, and it cost me. See this scar on my neck, Danny? This one I got from being swiped at with a dagger by my father. I keep it as a reminder of what I’ve had to go through to get here. And I’m not about to let go of that lightly. I’m not about to throw it out the window. You’re not the only one who wants to cause pain, Danny. So do I. You forced me to act last week, and this week, it’ll be perfectly legal for me to drive you into that mat and break your neck. However, it takes more than pain to win a match. It takes a special something, and that something is destiny.
Skyler is continuing his unrelenting attack on the punching bag, sweat pouring down his face.
SS: You see, Danny, destiny is on my side. It always has been, and always will. That remains with me every single day. It’s the same thing with fate. It’s by my side constantly, reminding me of my goals and ambitions. They belong to me, and I to them. And so it comes down to the fact that it’s my destiny. My fate. My rules. And one of my rules is that you don’t attack someone without reason. You still haven’t given an answer, Danny. I want one. I want to know why you did it. Why you attacked me after I defeated Kuroi. I want that answer, and when I defeat you this week at Ultimate Showdown, Danny, you will give me that answer. Don’t be late, Danny. You’ve got a date with destiny.
Skyler throws another fist at the punching bag but it breaks from the impact. Skyler watches the sand pour out before walking to the gym’s spa, and he hops in.
SS: Shay!
SP: (offscreen) What?
SS: We need to go shopping – I broke my punching bag.
SP: Again? I bought you a new one a week ago!
SS: Just do it!
The scene fades out as Skyler sinks further into the spa.
