The camera fades into a locker room backstage where Skyler Striker is staring into a red lava lamp. The room is completely dark except for the lava lamp’s light. Skyler continues to stare into the lamp even when speaking.
Skyler: This is a message for Kuroi and Phillip Rocca. Well, boys, I have made it once again. I’m pushing myself to the limit. This will mark my fifth match this week. I’ve wrestled for WVWF, COI, YPW and GCW all in the space of seven days. And now I plan to take my body to the limit and beyond by fighting a triple threat match this week. Do you know what it takes to compete in five matches a week? It takes endurance. But no, that’s not what will take you to the top of the industry. It takes determination to win every single one of those matches. But once again, no. Determination is a good quality, but it won’t get you to the top. It takes ambition to have the mental capability to make it to the top. But again, no, that’s not what it takes.
Skyler shakes the lava lamp up and down a bit and continues staring at it.
Skyler: This week, I continue my quest to become the best. A triple threat match against both of you two men. Kuroi, I haven’t heard you, I haven’t seen you, and I have no doubt that you’ve got skill. But I need proof that you’ll be a worthy opponent. Rocca, I watched your match last week, and I’ll admit, you’re good. Yes, you did get screwed. Yes, you’ve got talent. But talent is not going to take you to the top in this business. You know what is? Destiny, Phillip. Destiny.
Skyler puts one of his hands around the lava lamp, darkening the room again, and continues speaking.
Skyler: You see, Rocca and Kuroi, I am undefeated. In four federations, undefeated. In two months of wrestling, undefeated. Yeah, it’ll catch up to me eventually. But for now, I plan to continue this streak. I continue to make it to the top of the food chain. You know why I’m undefeated? You know why? Destiny. It’s my destiny to make it to the top. It’s my destiny to win over the world and take every championship along the way. And in the WCF, I start with you two. I start by hitting the Final Revelation on you, Kuroi and the Destiny Dive on you, Phillip. Because once you see me on the top turnbuckle, you know it’s over. No one has ever removed themselves from the impact of the Final Revelation, and you two won’t be an exception. I win this match, and I head towards more glory. I begin my climb on the stairway to WCF gold.
Skyler finally breaks his stare on the lamp and turns towards the camera.
Skyler: And that all starts on the 13th of August. I aim to put on a damn good match. I expect you to do the same. I respect both of you, and I look forward to wrestling both of you. But I won’t hold back and I won’t hesitate. When you get in that ring, you’ve committed yourself to facing the Fatebringer. And that means you will get what’s coming to you. I ask only one thing, boys. Don’t be late – you’ve got a date with destiny.
Skyler grabs the lava lamp and sets it on the floor, where he crushes it under his boot. The room darkens and the scene ends.
