[The past few weeks have certainly been a roller coaster ride for Bobby Cairo. At Blast!, Bobby had Reckless Jack locked in the No Way Out, seemingly moments away from capturing his first WCF World Title. That's when RJ used a chair shot to get himself disqualified and retain the title. RJ continued his assault after the match with several more vicious chair shots. At Slam, Bobby extracted a measure of revenge by using a chair attack of his own to help Victor "Outcast" Taylor defeat Jack for the World Title. In just 5 days, Bobby and Jack will lock horns one more time, with the winner receiving a title match against Outcast. In preparation for this Sunday's match, Bobby is with his trainer Bolts Quackenbush at the gym. Right now, Bobby is in the midst of running 10 miles on the treadmill as he discusses strategy with Bolts.]
Bobby: "I'm telling you, Bolts, this thing is personal between me and Jack. I'm not even thinking about that title shot, I just want to kill the guy."
Bolts: "Bobby, you can't let yourself be blinded by rage. I know the history between you and Jack, and I know that it's hard to focus on anything other than revenge. But you have to remember what's on the line in this match. If you win, you get another shot at the World Title. That's what you've been working toward your entire life, the opportunity to be the best in the world. You can't let that focus and that discipline get away from you. Do you understand what I'm telling you, Bobby?"
Bobby: "I understand, Bolts. I do understand what you're saying. I'm just having trouble getting past the fact that this man tried to end my career with that chair. He thought nothing of trying to take my dream and my livelihood away from me. How disturbed do you have to be to do something like that?"
Bolts: "He's a callous individual, Bobby, there's no question about it. However, you hold the edge right now and you need to use that edge. You cost Jack the World Title against Outcast. That title meant more to Jack than anything. After all, he thought nothing of trying to seriously injure you in order to keep it. Can you imagine what must be going through his mind right now, Bobby? The one thing that meant more to him than anything else in the world is now gone. It's gone. You have to use that to your advantage, Bobby. The same way that he got inside your head, you're now inside his head. Use it."
Bobby: "You're right. I hadn't even considered that."
[Bobby uses a towel to wipe the beads of sweat off of his face.]
Bobby: "Hey, Bolts, I'm not complaining or anything, but don't you think 10 miles is a bit much?"
Bolts: "Bobby, this is your first match in 3 weeks. I want to make sure that you still have your stamina. Besides, you only have one more mile to go."
Bobby: "Only one more mile? That's easy for you to say!"
[After a few minutes Bobby finishes the last mile and grabs a bottle of water.]
Bobby: "Boy, I'm glad that's over."
Bolts: "It won't be any easier on Sunday. I just want you to be prepared."
Bobby: "I know. Don't mind my bitching."
Bolts: "No problem, I'm used to it by now."
Bobby: "Hey!"
Bolts: "I'm kidding. Anyway, you did a good job today, so I want you to take the rest of the day off and relax. We'll do some work with weights tomorrow."
Bobby: "Ok, sounds good."
[Bobby packs up his gym bag and starts to walk away.]
Bolts: "Bobby, before you go, just remember what I told you about staying focused. Keep your eyes on the prize, ok?"
Bobby: "Eyes on the prize?"
Bobby: "No problem."
[Bobby turns and walks away, smiling to himself.]
