"Chad fancies himself a modern day Dirty Harry, but he doesn’t use guns, just his hands and feet." - Chad Evans
That line alone, among with many others, was well worth mentioning before I even tried to throw any two cents on this piece of writing. Following that and besides just personally being a huge Dirty Harry fan; the line quoted above concreted the tone for 'Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City'... for me, anyway, which brings me to my opinion or better said, take, of Chad's writing.
I took it as Evan's looking at Hartford, Connecticut as a disgusting piece of shit city that he wants to 'fix' OR feed off it's errors the same way he'd relate to WCF's stature. Not trying to be rude, obnoxious, what have you.. that's just the attitude I got off of reading the writing down word for word. But, yeah, that's just me.. the reader, that may've not been his intention. I'm just merely pointing out with great appreciation of what I took in from the role-play, which, makes that alone a great piece of writing when the reader can be given the option to choose a different conceptual path from the writers original visionary.
Anyway, like said before, the line quoted above really stapled and ribbon bowed this role-play up neatly. After you get the idea that 'this city' is blood sucking vermin, you're immediately introduced to a man who wishes to shine a warm light in the darkness of it all; the ever-so heroic character Chad Evans. But, then, what really grabbed me.. or at least grabbed me enough to desire the importance to share my thoughts with, was that the character, Chad Evans, wasn't exactly this heroic standup guy. He's just like another bastard in the population of the city's bastards that can actually take off the blind fold and bullshit cool guy look and say, "Hey, this place is shit, I'm goin' do something about it".. with a riot kind of tone.
After that you get Evans going into Batman mode basically, which eventually ends as a dream in the next role-play that follows after. Which, ya' know, adds comedic satisfaction to MY personal meaning of it all, but, it fits, and plays everything off nicely. So, that's my two cents for Evan's latest work; work that has heavily influenced my own writing and work that'll inevitably make me become a bigger fan of Evan's. Nice RP!
