Logan kicks Price in the stomach and drops him onto the metal trash can with a sickening DDT. The can crumples as Price's skull makes contact, busting the top of his head open. Logan gets back to his feet and looks around at the crowd that has gathered to watch the brawl. He looks back down at Price and reaches down to pull him back up once again.
Zach Davis: This is too much. Price is an asshole but even he doesn't deserve this.
Shannan Lerch: Somebody stop this!
Logan turns Price around and locks in the Sleeper Hold.
Zach Davis: Not the connector. On the concrete this move could kill Price.
Logan whispers something into Price's ear...and then nails the Connector, sending Price headfirst onto the pavement. Blood is flowing from Price's head and face as he lies motionless on the ground. Logan gets back to his feet and stares down at Price, with Price's blood on his shirt, hands and arms. Price isn't moving as Logan takes one last look around before walking off as the camera moves back down to show a lifeless Price, blood pouring onto the concrete.

The camera cuts back to the office of Seth Lerch, with a shot of him sitting behind his desk with his face resting in his hands. Seth looks up as he hears the sounds of the cameraman walking into the room.
Seth Lerch: Ladies and gentleman earlier today I received some rather disheartening news about one of our own. As many of you may have seen last week, an unsanctioned brawl took place between Logan and Jay Price. And as many of you also know, that brawl ended with Jay Price lying unconscious on the pavement outside, bleeding from the mouth and nose. Tonight, it's my duty as the owner of WCF to inform you all of his current condition. Shannan will you please come in here.
Shannan Lerch walks into the office, her eyes red and puffy from crying.
Seth Lerch: Shannan brought me the news earlier in the form of a video that was shot at the hospital. I thought it would be best if the situation was explained by a medical profession, so go ahead and roll that footage.
The live feed is cut and is replaced by the following video.
Inside of a hospital room, an obviously distraught Shannan Lerch is sitting beside the bed of Jay Price, her eyes wet with tears as she tries to keep from crying. A doctor walks into the room holding a clipboard and clears his throat. Shannan looks over and sees him and stands up.
Shannan Lerch: Doctor is he going to be okay? Please tell me that he's going to be okay.
Doctor: As far as we can tell he suffered severe damage to his neck. From the tests that we have done, we've discovered a fractured cervical vertebrae, two herniated disks and a pulled muscle. The good news however is that he should be able to fully recover and there is no indications that he won't be able to lead a normal life again.
Shannan Lerch: What about wrestling? It's his life.
Doctor: There have been cases of athletes experiencing the same injuries and they have made comebacks. But the risks involved are serious enough that I myself would discourage any such thing.
Shannan Lerch: Well what about him still being unconscious? I mean...he'll wake up eventually right?
Doctor: That's the other thing that has us worried. He's been slipping in and out of consciousness since he arrived here Monday night and we can't seem to keep him conscious. Our thought process is that he suffered a severe concussion and that, along with his injuries, has us worried that he might end up slipping into a coma.
Shannan places her hand over her mouth as she takes a step back. The tears in her eyes start rolling down her cheeks as she is slowly losing the will to hold them back.
Doctor: I'm really sorry ma'am. I'll be sure to do everything that I can to help him, but for now all we can do is pray that he is as strongly willed as he is strong on the outside.
The doctor takes one last look at Price's monitors and writes down some things on his clipboard before turning and exiting the room. Shannan takes her seat back at Price's bedside and places her hands on top of his.
Shannan Lerch: Come on Jay...don't do this to me.
The video cuts and the live feed comes back. Shannan is sitting in a chair beside Seth's desk, crying her eyes out as Seth tries to comfort her. The cameraman signals to Seth that they are live again and he stands back up.
Seth Lerch: As you saw the injuries that Jay suffered are no joking matter. The doctor's are talking about surgery already and it looks like he will be missing some time. There is no official word on when he may return, but the thought process seems to be anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks..maybe even longer. I'll make sure to keep you all informed, but for now I think it's best to go on with the show.
Seth motions for the cameraman to leave as he kneels down beside Shannan once again, trying to comfort her. The live feed cuts with a shot of Shannan crying in her brother's arms.
Hospital: 01/14/2010
The scene opens inside of the office of Dr. Hai-Dong Jho, a respected spine and neck doctor in the athletic business. At the moment the good doctor is seated behind his desk working on some paperwork. A knock is heard from the other side of the door.
Dr. Jho: Come in.
The door opens and in enters WCF's own Hank Brown.
Hank: Dr. Jho, I was hoping that I could get a minute of your time to talk about Jay Price.
Dr. Jho: Mr. Brown, as I've told you several times on the telephone, I'm legally unable to discuss my patients information with you.
Hank: Ah. Well that's why this time I decided to come prepared.
Hank turns around and motions for someone out in the other room. A few seconds later Shannan Lerch enters into the room.
Hank: Miss Lerch is here to give permission for us to speak. She believes that his fans deserve to know how he is doing.
Dr. Jho sighs loudly to voice his opinion on the issue before standing up.
Dr. Jho: Very well...if that's what you wish.
Shannan nods before exiting the room leaving the doctor and Hank alone in the office. Hank takes a seat in front of the desk as Dr. Jho walks over to the door and closes it.
Dr. Jho: So what would you like to know about Mr. Price?
Hank: Well first, what can you tell us about his current condition?
Dr. Jho: Mr. Price came to our hospital the night of January 4th with a neck injury. After running several tests we were able to determine that he had suffered a fractured cervical vertebrae, two herniated disks and a pulled muscle. On January 6th Mr. Price went into surgery to repair the damage, which I would like to say went extremely successful.
Hank: So the surgery was a success? Does that mean his rehabilitation has already started?
Dr. Jho: That it has. In fact Mr. Price was more than eager to begin his rehabilitation as soon as possible in hopes that he could get back to wrestling soon.
Hank: That leads me to my second question. How soon might we see Jay back in action?
Dr. Jho: That's really up to Jay and how he progresses. With any injury to the neck and/or spine, you have to take precautions so that you don't re-injure the area. You need to take time to allow the damaged nerves to heal, along with slowly working to rebuild the strength in the muscles.
Hank: So time wise what are we looking at?
Dr. Jho: I've had patients with similar injuries return to their respective sports in 4-6 weeks.
Hank: So we could see him wrestling in a month to a month and a half?
Dr. Jho: Yes, but as I have told him, in my professional opinion I do not recommend rushing back into the ring.
Hank: And how did he respond to that advice?
Dr. Jho: His exact words were "Fuck off you stupid quack".
Hank: Sounds like Jay. All right Dr. Jho I'd really like to thank you for your time.
Hank stands up and extends his hand which Dr. Jho shakes. The scene ends with Hank leaving the doctor's office as Dr. Jho goes back to his paperwork.
Price's Home: 01/27/2010
The scene opens on the 2nd floor balcony of Price's South Philadelphia home. He's resting as comfortably as he can in a lounge chair with a neck brace on. He's able to fish a lighter out of his pocket which he lifts carefully up to the joint between his lips. He lights the end and drops the lighter back onto his lap as he takes that glorious first hit. He takes the joint out and exhales a cloud of smoke.
Price: I always thought medicinal weed would suck but this shit is just as good.
I swear sometimes I think you love your weed more than you love me.
Shannan walks up from behind him and moves a nearby seat close.
Shannan: How you feelin'?
Jay grins as he takes another long hit and then exhales.
Price: Muuuuuch better.
Shannan shakes her head and sighs.
Shannan: I'm being serious, how's your neck feeling?
Price: Meh..it still hurts now and then but not so much. I'm thinking the rehab has really been helping.
Shannan: See. And you said that rehab was a bunch of bullshit made up by doctors to get more money out of you.
Price: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Shannan: Jay...
Price: Yeah?
Shannan: I still don't think you should be at Ten.
Price: How many fucking times are we going to go through this? I'm going to go to Ten and beat the living shit out of that fucker for what he did.
Shannan: But you're not ready yet? What if something happens and you injure you're neck again? It's just too soon.
Price: Okay Dr. Lerch thanks for your diagnosis. I know my damn body and if I think that I'm ready, then I'm ready.
Price raises the joint back up to take another hit.
Shannan: I thought that you might still be stubborn about this. So I called Seth yesterday.
Price stops raising the joint and closes his eyes.
Price: You did what?
Shannan: I called Seth and talked about you. He agrees that you shouldn't come.
Price: You think I'm going to listen to that sack of shit? I've been doing what I wanted for months and he never once even tried to stop me.
Shannan: Well he's serious about this one. He said he wants to make sure nothing happens to his main event, so he's beefing up security and putting it out that you are banned from the arena.
Price: Psst. You really think some added security and a ban is going to stop me? Tell you what, ask Seth what happened the last time he had security try and stop me.
Shannan: Fine then Jay, don't listen to Seth. But please, just listen to me for once. Don't go to Ten. Please?
Price takes the last hit off of his joint and flicks it over the balcony.
Price: Fine, I won't go.
Shannan: Promise?
Price: I promise.
Shannan: Good. All right we'll I'm going back to bed. Do you want me to help you up?
Price: Nah I gotta do this stuff for myself.
Shannan: Okay. We'll don't be out here all night again.
Price: I won't.
Shannan goes back inside as Jay reaches into his pocket and pulls out another joint. He places it between his lips and lights it. He takes a hit and exhales. He grins as he raises his other hand up, revealing two of his fingers that have been crossed.
Price: Damn she's gonna be pissed.
The scene ends with Price looking out into the darkness towards the city lights in the distance, a cloud of smoke hovering above him as he takes a hit.
Logan kicks Price in the stomach and drops him onto the metal trash can with a sickening DDT. The can crumples as Price's skull makes contact, busting the top of his head open.
