Anastasia Petrova is in Babies R Us walking up and down the aisles.
Anastasia: Jesus Christ, what the hell am I supposed to buy?!
Anastasia pulls out her cell phone and calls her friend Serena.
Anastasia: Serena, where the hell are you? I don't know what the fuck to buy!
A young mother with two children glares angrily at Anastasia, most likely for swearing in a place where there are many children. Anastasia glares back and the woman quickly walks away.
Serena: I'm pulling into a parking spot now. Just hold your horses I'll be there soon.
Serena hung up and Anastasia put her cell away. Anastasia pulled out her flask and took two swigs of vodka.
Serena: Jesus, you couldn't resist alcohol just for like a half an hour?
Anastasia: Oh, please, don't get all high and mighty with me! Help me pick out something, I don't have any clue on what to buy!
Serena: Well did you check the registry?
Anastasia: Registry? What the hell? Where's that?
Serena: At the front of the store, come on...
Serena grabbed Anastasia's hand and pulled her to the registry computer. She clicked on baby registry and typed in Amanda Jasinski. Up popped a list of what Amanda needed.
Serena: There, see, now you know what Amanda wants. I'll buy the stroller and you can get...
Anastasia: I'll buy the baby monitor, the one with the camera so you can always see the baby.
Serena: Awesome, let's go get them.
They printed out the list of items wanted and went to go pick up the items. When they arrived at the baby monitor section, the noticed that if they bought the baby monitor with the video monitor and the remote control crib soother they would get a free umbrella stroller.
Anastasia: Sweet, so we can just split the price of this and get exactly what she wanted for less!
Serena: Nice, let's do it!
After they retrieved the stroller, they grabbed some baby wrapping paper and went to the cash register.
Cashier: So, did you find everything you wanted?
Anastasia: Yes, thank you.
Cashier: The total is 243 dollars and 79 cents.
Anastasia handed him 250 dollars in cash and received the receipt and change and walked outside. Once outside, Serena and Anastasia wrapped the presents in the parking lot and loaded each one into their respective cars.
Serena: So I will see you there!
Anastasia: Yea, see you there!
Anastasia and Serena both drove to Amanda's house. When they arrived they noticed other women arriving as well.
Beth: Anastasia, Serena! Hi! How are you two?
Serena and Anastasia both waved and walked over to Beth.
Serena: We are doing just fine. What about you?
Beth: Oh, I'm doing fine. Gosh, I haven't seen you two since my wedding.
Anastasia: Yea, it has been awhile! So how's Rob doing anyhow?
Beth: He's just great, just great. We are considering starting a family too. I'm so happy for Amanda. This is so exciting.
Anastasia: Yea, yea, that's great for you guys. And Amanda. Although for me, well, I'd rather hold off on kids. But I guess that won't be a problem, seeing as I've got to get a guy first!
Beth, Anastasia, and Serena all laughed, kind of awkwardly.
Beth: So, are you still doing that wrestling stuff, or did you finally give that up?
Anastasia: Nope, I'm still doing it. You know, it's my job and all.
Beth: Oh, yea, sorry. Just curious. And Serena, what about you? Any boyfriend or anything?
Serena: Yes as a matter of fact. I've got a new guy, his name's Derek. He's very nice.
Beth: Well, I guess we should head inside.
All three of the ladies walked towards the front door of the two story house. Susan opened the door.
Susan: Hey! Hi! How are all you doing? Here let me help someone with something.
Serena: Don't worry about us Sue, we've got it. Just let us know where to put the stuff!
Susan: Right over here. Right here, right here. Oh, goodness, I haven't seen you three for awhile. Well, Beth, I guess I saw you recently but you two, it's been a long time!
Anastasia: Yea, it's been awhile alright. How have you been?
Julie: OH MY GOD, IS THAT ANASTASIA?
Heather: Anastasia! Where is she? Is she here?
Anastasia: Yes, ladies, I'm here!
A crowd of women came towards Anastasia, Serena, Beth, and Susan.
Catherine: Wow, I can't believe you came!
Elizabeth: Hey, oh my goodness and Serena's here too!
Tina: This is more like a reunion rather than a baby shower!
Maria: Oh I'm so excited! This is going to be so much fun, catching up and all!
Lucy: Hey ladies, how's it going?
A long procession of hugs begins to take place. Exchanges of hellos and how are yous went flying left and right.
Anastasia: (thinking to herself) This is exactly why I didn't want to come! Damn Serena.
Elizabeth: Amanda's not home yet, David's bringing her. They went out to brunch or something. Everything is all set up, I think. Only thing missing is the star!
The garage door was heard opening. All the women began giggling, nervous and excited all at the same time.
Lucy: Hurry, everyone to the garage door. They're going to come in through there!
All the women went scurrying to the door in the kitchen. They all grabbed streamers and confetti to throw. The key sounded in the lock and slowly the door opened. They could hear Amanda talking.
Women: SURPRISE!
Streamers and confetti went flying, Amanda nearly collapsed on the floor. She began laughing and crying. David helped her stand straight. Once she was steady, he nodded to the women.
David: Well, I'll be heading back out! Going to play golf with the guys.
Amanda: Oh my god! This is so unexpected! I had no idea! No idea!
She quickly turned on her husband.
Amanda: You can never keep a secret. How the hell did you pull this one off.
David: I was only told last night to get you out of the house this morning!
Everyone was laughing and David slipped out the door.
Amanda: Oh my this is so exciting. Now, I'm not sure what to do! Hahaha.
Catherine: Well first things first, come inside. Sit down. We have lots of things to do. Games to play, presents to open, cake to eat! And catching up with people we haven't seen in awhile!
Amanda: Well who's all here? Catherine, Lucy, Elizabeth, Tina, Maria, Heather, Susan, Julie, Serena, Beth, and Anastasia! Oh my goodness! Anastasia, I wasn't expecting you!
Anastasia stepped forward and gave Amanda a hug.
Anastasia: Of course I would come! How could I miss something for you? And anyways, even if I wasn't going to come, Serena would've dragged me here!
Amanda: Well I'm glad you're here! But I must admit I'm surprised. Don't you have to be getting ready for a wrestling match?
Anastasia: I have to get ready, sure, but I have plenty of time to come visit my good friends! Especially if she's pregnant!
Amanda: I'm so happy! This is so exciting!
Heather: You already said that, hon! C'mon sit down in the living room.
They all walked into the decorated living room.
Amanda: So, what do we do first? Games?
Susan: Well, sure, why not?
They spent about two hours playing games, talking amongst each other, and eating food. After the games, they opened the presents and then ate cake. After another two hours, they were all just sitting around the living room, chatting.
Catherine: Well, this sure was fun! We should do this more often! So, either we need to make a date every other month or someone else has to get pregnant!
Serena: Well, Beth is trying to. So next baby shower is most likely going to be hers!
Beth blushed furiously.
Beth: Maybe...
Tina: I'm going to have to head out. I'm sorry to be the first to leave. I had a great time though! It was great seeing everyone!
Serena: Yea, I think I'm going to leave too. I see David pulling up now!
Anastasia: Well, I guess I should be heading out as well!
Maria: Me too.
Amanda: Well, I'm glad everyone could come! I've had such a great time! This was so much fun!
Most of the women began to get their coats and say their goodbyes. They all hugged and walked towards the door.
Anastasia and Serena were the second and third to get out the door.
Anastasia: Well, that wasn't so bad!
Serena: No it was actually kinda fun! I was having fun at least!
Anastasia: Me too! Well I'm probably gonna head home and change for the gym.
Serena: Well, have fun doing that!
Anastasia: I'll try! Do you wanna get together in a few days? Lunch, or drinks?
Serena: Sure, call me soon and we'll arrange something!
Anastasia: Sounds great! See ya!
