(Just in case people forgot how it ended last time)
"Listen doctor, be honest with me. What is your honest opinion on Angie's situation?"
The doctor gives a brief look at Angie and then reconnects with Kevin’s solid glare.
"Well I wouldn’t hold my breath. We don’t know what has caused her organs to shut down. There will be a gap in between now and when we can give her the other organs, so if this illness was to advance further, it could kill her."
Kevin now starts to lose the color in his face, as he fully understands the severity of the situation. Just as the doctor pats down the bandage, he goes over Angie’s vitals, however his reaction was different from the nurse who just checked on her. All of a sudden, Angie starts twitching around like the hell below them possessed her with the devil's spirit. The doctor pushes the red button near her bed as three nurses rush in and start prepping Angie as Kevin looks on in utter horror.
"SHE IS CRASHING. SOMEONE GET THE DEFRIBULATOR AND GIVE HER 20 MILLIGRAMS OF ADRENALINE! STAT! Sorry, but we need to take care of this Mr. Hardaway."
The doctor pushes Kevin away and shuts the door immediately as he stands outside, in what feels like himself, as Hayley comes back with the nurse and sees Kevin standing there. He turns his head to her to see Hayley rush over, what appears to be slowly.
It all has to be some kind of bad dream. It has to be.
He closes his eyes, expecting Hayley to rush over to him and shake him until he's awake in his bed, next to Angie. Everything as cool as the other side of his pillow. He expected for her to move slightly over to him and kiss Kevin gently on his cheek. He wanted everything that way and he wanted that way right now. But, when Hayley did rush over there and shook him like no tomorrow, he opened his eyes to hear loudly...
"What the fuck is going on, Kevin?"
Kevin couldn't get the right words for it, mixed up with his emotions of fear, denial, and hope for a better tomorrow. But as he stumbled at first, Hayley kept shaking him until he got it right.
"Can't you hear it? Angie is crashing in there. Something's happened to her and I...I don't know, OK? Just..."
With that, he screams as loud as he possibly can. So loud that every single, solitary person in the hospital can hear his cry for help. Kevin runs away though from all of the madness though. He runs as far away from the beeping, the crying, the screaming, everything, as he possibly can as he rushes out of the hospital, passing nurses by as they see the confusion of what's going on. Then, they look at Hayley, like she had something crazy to do with it. Nonetheless, she runs after Kevin, trying to catch up with him.
Out into the pouring, drenching rain they go, where Hayley sees him on his knees, face down on the concrete, either letting the water pound on his head like a thumping headache or maybe just not moving at all. Hayley sees this and rushes over to Kevin, worried and freaking out right about now as she trips over to him and shakes him again. He doesn't move.
"Kevin? Kevin? Kevin? Wake up."
No movement.
"Oh my god. Kevin? Are you ok? Speak to me?!"
Once again, no movement or no words coming out of his mouth but he starts to twitch up in Hayley's arms.
"Dammit...SOMEBODY HELP!"
===================================================================================
A dream but in the very eyes of the wounded soldier.
A small and cramping taxi cab is driving along the luscious highway of New York City. The city that never sleeps, from what he's gotten word of. He's inside the cab though, as the driver nods to him and tips his cap. Something you don't see everyday. He turns to his left though to see somebody there next to him though. At this point, he has one of the best smiles he has ever put on.
Because Angie is sitting next to him. Smiling as well. Looking more beautiful than he has ever seen her look before in his life. He reaches out to touch her cheek and she immediately accepts it, nuzzling up against his hand as they both look out into the beautiful night time sky. We can barely see the stars due to the lights and the glam that the town has to offer, but soon enough, they reach a place where you can see every single star out in the open, where a full moon shines it's light on the couple.
He continues to look at Angie though, as she can be seen blushing for a few seconds. Hey, beauty doesn't come all that often. But before the two can lean in for a kiss, the cab stops in it's tracks.
"Here we are."
The two are confused, like they don't know where they are at this point.
"Where are we, exactly?"
"The hotel, of course."
Kevin and Angie look out the backseat window to see that a hotel was there. It was like something you saw in the movies. It was huge, elegant, beaming with vibrant colors. And that was just the outside. The inside was even greater to look at. This couldn't be real. Could it? Everybody also seemed very nice, the lobby clerk, the bellboy, even the elevator music seemed romantic and happy. Something was off about this place. But Kevin didn't matter, because every little millisecond, he would turn his head to see Angie smiling all the while...over the hotel, and him.
It was a surprise that he heard the elevator music at all, because everything between then and the time Kevin and Angie got into their suite, it all seemed like some magical giant blur. In all of the best way possible of course.
Inside their room, it's...well, it's mindblowing to say the least. Perfect view, perfect size of bed, perfect Angie. She walks right towards the slider door near their bed and opens it, walking outside on the small patio. She can see most of the city from that very spot, all of the wonderous lights, the sounds of cars passing through, the skylight just perfect at this time of night.
"Oh my goodness. Kevin, isn't this the most beautiful thing you have ever seen?"
He walks up and stands behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist as he smiles at the view as well.
"It is amazing...oh, and the city view ain't half bad either."
Angie looks at him and smiles. The most perfect smile he's ever seen. And with that, they finally kiss. Seems like eons since they kissed from the way they're doing it. He moves down and starts to kiss her neck in the most passionate way possible as she closes her eyes, letting all of the pleasure soak in. But it's immediately interrupted by a knock at their door. They want to continue, but the damn bellhop waits for them. He whispers into Angie's ear...
"You get ready and i'll check the door, ok?"
Angie nods her head and gives Kevin a sweet kiss on the lips before he heads to the door. She whispers...
"Don't look behind you. I want it to be a surprise."
Walking over, he follows his promise. He doesn't look behind him. He wants to so badly, but he can't. It's just one of those "little things" that they like to do we guess. When Kevin does open the door, the bellhop is indeed there. Kevin doesn't have a eager look on his face, but he abides anyways and listens.
"How may I help you?"
"Yes, Mr. Hardaway. I have a letter here from you that was addressed by a "Ms. Cooper". I thought I would deliver it first hand to you right away, sir."
The bellhop hands him a envelope, which he smiles and opens it up. It reads the following:
Actually, we can't read what it says. Only Kevin can read it. He smiles once again. He knows Angie wrote down that letter to him. Some things in love are just too amazing to share. He puts the letter back in the envelope and nods at the bellhop.
"Thank you, sir."
"Oh, Mr. Hardaway. There's one more thing I need to give you."
Before turning around to face Angie, he faces the bellhop again. He nods to him.
"What is it?"
"CLEAR!"
The bellhop pushes his hands into Kevin's chest as a jolt appears from Kevin. Angie looks up to see this.
"Baby, what's wrong?"
"I don't know, he just--"
"CLEAR!"
He does it again, jamming his hands into his chest. Kevin falls to the ground as Angie appears scared looking.
"What's going on?"
"I have no idea."
"CLEAR!"
All of a sudden, Kevin jolts up from his prone position...in the hospital bed. Scars and bruises are covering his head as he gasps for air. Doctors and nurses are around to see that everything seems to be working fine.
"Heart rate stabilizing. Pulse back to normal. We got him back."
A couple nurses try to restrain Kevin, but he lays back down anyways and closes his eyes. No danger this time out, the drugs just start kicking in, and back out, he's out like a light.
===================================================================================
A couple hours later...
Slowly a pair of eyes open to reveal the beaming, bright flourescent lights shining down on everything in that very room. Faintly, sounds of beeping can be heard as his eyes fully open now. Kevin is strapped in, barely able to move due to the lightning pain that is racing through his body. He can still look around to see doctors walking around, his heart rate, and a curtain that is drawn across, so we can't see who's laying next to him.
He lays back now and slowly closes his eyes again, but not for long as a door opens and in walks, Hayley. She smiles at him and sits right beside Kevin, right next to the curtain actually.
"What happened?"
"Heart attack, honey. You just went out there in the rain and all of a sudden, you just crashed on the ground like a rock. Must've been the stress.
Kevin closes his eyes again. Yeah, he did do that. He just didn't want to remember it due to the gripping headache it caused.
"They prepped you up and everything. It looked like you were just going to come out of it with minor injuries but then you started to crash. Although you didn't have to get an adrenaline shot, they did shock you."
He remembers it now. The dream he had. That was why the bellhop was acting weirder than usual. And that's why he shouted CLEAR!
"That's why I woke up. I had this dream, and Angie was there. It was the most vivid dream I could've ever recalled in my life. I felt nothing like it to be honest. It was like I was in heaven. And then the bellhop knocks on the door and starts to zap me. Those damn pedals."
Hayley smiles at him and chuckles a little bit.
"Reminds me of that damn Bruce Almighty movie."
"You know, thinking about it. It does. Weird, huh?"
The two share a laugh. Kevin's laugh is a little harder to take though since the pain keeps shooting in his system.
"You ok?"
"Yeah...i'll be...fine. Where's the damn drugs when you need them?"
Kevin keeps grunting, trying not to move. He can't even move anyways.
"Did they say how long I was going to be like this?"
"You'll probably be fine in a couple days to at least get out of that damn bed."
"Heh. I needed the sleep. I've been awake for about damn near 36 hours. What time is it?"
Hayley looks at her watch. She ends up chuckling.
"8:22"
Kevin sighs in a easy relief.
"Only a couple hours...that's ok for me."
"Umm, I mean 8:22 AM."
"Get the hell out of here?"
"You were out pretty much all night. Hell, even I went home to get some sleep. I figured that there was nothing I could've done, so instead of sleeping by myself in a cold hospital, I went home and slept. You were fine, don't worry."
Kevin breathes another sigh of relief as he lays back...and immediately shoots up again, grunting again over the pain in his body as he lies back. Hayley seems confused and bewildered at what just happened.
"What's wrong?"
"I forgot...Angie. How is she doing? Is she still okay?"
She gives off a brief smile and looks at the curtain. She grabs it gently and looks at Kevin.
"Umm...why don't you ask her for yourself?"
She pulls back the curtain to reveal who was Kevin's roommate for the time being. He sees this and smiles. Just like in his dream. The most perfect smile, as he looks at the beauty laying next to him. She turns her head over...awake and alive. Like in the dream, she also gives the perfect smile. She slowly moves her hand up and waves gently, mouthing off the words...
"Hey, love."
Angie. Alive and well.
(Just in case people forgot how it ended last time)
"Listen doctor, be honest with me. What is your honest opinion on Angie's situation?"
The doctor gives a brief look at Angie and then reconnects with Kevin’s solid glare.
