The apartment of Craig Jacobs. It still has a few boxes here or there but none of them belong to himself or Alexis. Nope, instead he has the displeasure of helping his parents move in just a couple of weeks after he finally moved out. Such horrible luck for the guy. Finally strikes out on his own and something like this happens but he really can't do a thing about it. What kind of sick guy would force his parents to live in the streets. Perhaps its just the payback for all the years he lived with them rent free. Either way, his parents don't seem to be in right now and that's a perfect chance for Craig and Alexis to do something. A video camera is set up in their room, Craig sitting on the bed with a smile on his face. Oh no...
Kool-Aid Man: OH YEAH!!!
...Moving on, Craig looks into the camera before winking. Alexis giggles before walking past the camera. What is it about wrestlers and sex tapes these days?
Alexis Wilson: And in five, four, three, two, one! You're on!
Wait, what? Oh my did you get swerved by these two. Seems as if Craig is finally going to record his first promo since joining the Wrestling Championship Federation. He inhales, a little nervous about doing something like this.
Craig Jacobs: Well, I suppose I'll start this off by saying good day to you people of WCF who might be watching this. If you are, I apologize because it's been a long time since I've tried to do one of these promo things. Hell, the last time was when I was still wrestling around various places here in Iowa. You really don't have to put much thought into what you say around these people because most of them are usually just your common wrestling fans. Nothing really hardcore as far as telling me my workrate sucks or I can't work on the stick really well. That's one thing I really haven't run into yet and that's critism. Suppose I will now at some point and that's fine.
A short pause by Craig before he continues on.
Craig Jacobs: Now I know the popular thing for this War match has seemingly been to run your opponents into the ground, trying to make yourself look better then they are verbally. I'm not really a huge fan of that. Any inbred moron can make up some stupid story about someone else and try to pass it off as the truth. That's really not my style unless I know them really well. Take my friend Troy for instance. I've cut a few promos against him here in Iowa. Instead, I'd like to take this time to probably bore you with a story.
A second short pause by him as he really doesn't move at all. Just stays in the same sitting position.
Craig Jacobs: The reason why I wanted to become a professional wrestler a few years ago was due to the fact that I hated school with a passion. Never really cared for anything my high school had to offer and most of the people were assholes. I was a huge wrestling fan and it kept me going through school. That and the best girl in the world. Either way, I knew that pro wrestling was something I could do with my life. Its been a struggle at times trying to wonder if I made the right choice.
He nods his head towards the camera.
Craig Jacobs: Traveling from place to place, even in this state is tough to do. The pay you make is barely enough even for the gas to get there and back home. Few times I was lucky enough to eat after a show. But now my situation has improved because I finally got my big break. This is my time to rise up above the countless others that tried out and failed to make it here in WCF. I've paid my dues. I had to set up the ring before a show. I had to tear it down after the show. I got my ass beat by the veterans. I was forced into time limit draws with the other fresh guys coming up in this sport. This is my first big shot on a national, international stage like this. I've never appeared on TV before my debut here at WCF. This is my pay per view debut.
A slight grin is on his face now.
Craig Jacobs: This is my shot, this is my chance to prove that I'm the right choice to become a wrestler on the national spotlight. I don't know about anyone else here in WCF, the dues they had to paid to get this far in their career, even they even had to. I'm sorry if I'm boring your or becoming repetitive but this is my first shot at becoming something more then a local Iowa hick wrestler. A guy that can't help fill a small middle school gym with people during the summer because people are too busy farming to do anything else. Coming to WCF was my first time at seeing a sold out arena. It scared the living daylights out of me when I came out from behind that professional set and saw all these people cheer because they hadn't a clue who I was, they just wanted to make some noise.
The passion in his voice is rising. You can tell that Craig Jacobs loves this business. This love is only second to the love he has of his girlfriend.
Craig Jacobs: I know because I'm a realist that I don't have a chance of winning this War match. How or why would a guy with only three or four matches under his belt on the national stage win a match such as this? It'd be like another rags to riches story you see all the time these days. My story isn't a rags to riches, its just a story. The War match, just my chance to show what I'm made of. Wrestling Championship Federation, I'm not going to win but I'm coming out a winner either way.
And Alexis stops the camera before Craig stands up, exhaling. She gives him a big supportive hug.
Alexis Wilson: That was great honey! I really thought you nailed your points pretty well. I'm proud of you.
Craig Jacobs: Thanks babe.
He gives her a kiss on the forehead before they hear the front door open. They exit their bedroom to see Craig's parents sitting on the couch, out of breath.
Craig's Dad: Why'd you have to get an apartment on the third floor?
Craig Jacobs: Maybe because it was the only opening they had here. We like it here.
Craig's Dad: I suppose we'll get use to it.
Alexis Wilson: Well I'd hope so.
Alexis giggles before sitting down on a chair. Craig heads to the fridge to grab a bottle of water. He takes a moment to look at it all, again. Just when he thought he was free of his parents, they just have to come back. He reaches into his pocket and smiles, pulling out a small box just large enough to contain a certain ring. He walks back to Alexis, kneeling down next to her.
Craig Jacobs: So hey, Alexis, you wanna marry me?
Alexis Wilson: What kind of sil...
She looks over at him, seeing the ring. A gasp follows before a kiss on his lips.
Alexis Wilson: Of course I will! Took you long enough!
Craig Jacobs: Had to get the right ring first.
They kiss again before standing up and heading out of their apartment.
Kool-Aid Man: OH YEAH!!!
