Thursday Night, September 24th. Four days removed from Slam and just three days away from one of the biggest PPV's in WCF. Newly crowned Television Champion Jay Price has returned home to Philadelphia to relax for a brief period before going back to training for the next big step in his career, the WAR match. WCF's own ace reporter Hank Brown has been given the privilege of being able to interview the most obvious dark horse candidate in the main event at WAR, and has come to Philadelphia in an effort to gain some insight on what is going on in the mind of the South Street Menace. Currently Jay Price is sitting beside Hank inside of the local gym's wrestling ring, his shiny new title belt draped casually over his shoulder. For once Price is not dressed in his usual ring attire, rather a pair of black Ed Hardy jeans, a pair of plain white Nike's, a black polo, and topped off with his trademark red Phillies fitted, a custom made watch with diamonds in the face and a pair of black Versace frameless sunglasses.
H.B.: "Ladies and Gentlemen I'd like to introduce my guest at this time, Jay Price, a man that honestly needs no introductions. The Television Champion, a two time wrestler of the week as voted by the fans on WCF.com, and currently undefeated in the WCF. This Sunday at WAR you will be competing in not one, but two matches. First you will be defending your TV Title in a three-way match against Anastasia Petrova and Hot Johnny Hott. After that, you will be one of thirty wrestlers competing in the WAR match, a match with big time implications that sends the winner straight into the main event scene and forever cements you as a legend in the WCF. I'm here to tonight to get your thoughts on WAR, your opponents and anything else that you might want to talk about."
Price: "Well damn Hank I'm not sure if I can follow such a clusterf**k of ass kissing. I mean really now, are you here to try and get me to go out on a date or talk to me about WAR?"
H.B.: "I was only trying to...."
Price: "Don't worry about it Hank, I was just messing around with you. Now to answer your question about my opponents, it's pretty much an open and shut case for the TV Title Match. Two weeks ago "Hot Head" Johnny Not-To-Be decided he would try to make an impact by attacking myself and Anastasia Petrova over the course of one night. Well that really seemed to do wonders for him now didn't it. Last week he gets his ass handed to him in a "New Superstar Showcase" four-way match, and yet still ends up getting a title shot at WAR. I mean honestly, if anything, Tyler What’s His Name deserves the title match opportunity more than Hott seeing as how he actually won his debut match. The man obviously has no right to be in this match and it's obvious that someone somewhere is feeling sorry for this slow witted, giant and decided to throw him a bone. Now Anastasia Petrova on the other hand, well she is a completely different story. She gave me one hell of a match-up on Slam, defiantly making me earn my championship, and making me look at her with a whole new respect. However, no matter what she thinks about my looks and how much she wants to go one-on-one with me in her bedroom, everything goes right out the window this Sunday because I will be one hundred percent focused on winning the match and keeping this title."
H.B.: "So then you have heard about Anastasia's recent sexual comments made about you before your Slam match. You must be flattered that one of the sexiest females in WCF is looking at you in a different way, right?"
Price: "Hank, you really need to think better before you say things, otherwise you'll just keep on asking stupid questions. Of course I heard about what she said, and yes I am a little flattered by the comments. She is defiantly a sexy beast that I wouldn't mind having some fun with, but for the time being she is an opponent, and you should never sleep with the enemy."
H.B. "And what about after the match, are all bets off or do you think you two might get together for some conversing??"
Price: "Well, then who knows what could happen. Once our match is over and after I win the WAR Match, if she still feels so strongly about me then maybe we can talk about it over some dinner and breakfast."
H.B.: "Defiantly quite the player you are my friend. Now getting back to business, you have a second match that you will be competing in at WAR. That match is of course the WAR Match. Thirty wrestlers, including yourself, will be in an all out battle to see who is the most dominant in all of the WCF. In a match where all friendships and partnerships are thrown out the window once the bell rings, do you have a plan or a strategy for how you are going to win this?
Price: "Well if I did have a strategy I wouldn't just go blurting it out on national television for everyone to hear, that just isn't a smart thing to do. But no, I don't have a plan or strategy for how I am going to win this match, but I can stand here right now and say that I will be doing everything possible to win. If I have to work with an enemy to take down a larger opponent, I will. If I have to fight dirty to keep myself from being eliminated, I will. And if I have to spill the blood of someone, or break their bones, or maybe even end their career in order to win, I will. Conscience is just the thirty-first opponent in this match, because everyone will fight it at one point. A tag team partner may have to eliminate his partner or long-time friends may have to fight it out. But I have no conscience, I feel no guilt, and I feel no pain when it comes to my actions, because I am fueled only by my desire to win. It's like you said earlier, this match propels the winner to heights reserved only for the top class of wrestlers. It puts you into the record books and makes you into an instant legend of the business. And more importantly, it puts you into the main event scene and almost guarantees you a World Title shot. And as it stands right now, there is nothing more important to me than the status of the World Title."
H.B.: "Now, to get off the topic a little bit, I'd like to talk to you about something else that has been happening around the WCF as of late. A lot of people are saying that you, as a rookie fresh out of the "minors", is getting a little bit too much attention already. They say that maybe you shouldn't be the TV Title so soon, and that maybe you haven't earned your shot in the WAR Match, despite Seth Lerch wanting everyone involved in that match. What is your response to these people."
Price: "Of course there are people talking trash against me, but it's not because they think I'm an undeserving rookie, it's because they are scared of what I'm going to do. These old timers that have been here since the beginning of the company see me as the threat that they never before experienced. I am a once in a lifetime talent and they are scared that I will run them out of this company by exposing them for the lack-luster talent that they are. So to them I say: Keep on talking your talk, and I'm just gonna keep doing what I do best, and that's kicking your ass and winning matches."
H.B.: "Now before we end this interview is there anything else last minute that you would like to say, possibly to anyone else involved in the WAR Match?"
Price: "As it stands right now I'm still watching the tapes of some of my bigger threats in the match. Logan, Mikami, Johnny Reb and Slickie T defiantly seem like they are going to be the ones to cause some sort of problems for me but I'll be ready. Hector Rodriguez, my boys The Superfans, who I will add are two of the craziest mother f**kers I’ve ever met but still are damn fine wrestlers, Greenfever, the hardcore freak of nature who has a title that I will be taking very soon to add to my collection, and Doc Henry are also just some of the names on my short list of people that I will be watching for in this match. My message to them and everyone else is simple and short: Do not get in my way or I will hurt you. Point blank I will do anything it takes to win this, and I do mean anything."
H.B.: "Jay I see it in your eyes right now, you seem more focused than ever and that is saying a lot. One last thing that I was meaning to ask you, what is up with the different look? Usually when I come around to talk to you or when I see you doing some other sort of interview you're in your wrestling gear. Today you're dressed in street clothes, looking like you're on your way to do some official business or something.
Price: "Well let's just say that I'm on way to discuss some business opportunities with some powerful people. Now that I'm a success in the big times, winning matches, winning titles, and putting myself in the spotlight, there are a lot of people that want Jay Price and his services, and of course I'm always happy to oblige….for the right price. Now if this interview is over I really should get going, and as always it was nice to see you."
Price gets up from the chair and walks out the front door, leaving H.B. and his cameraman to clean up their equipment. He checks the time on his watch and sees that he still has some time before he needs to head to the airport so he can catch his flight. He looks around at the beautiful Philadelphia skyline and thinks to himself about how soon he will be the biggest thing to ever come out of this city and about how this Sunday everyone will know his name and about the lasting impact that he will make. He pulls out his cell phone and sends a quick text message to someone, a slight smile crosses his face as the message goes through. As he is putting the phone back into his pocket, he gazes over at the Television Championship resting on his shoulder and reads his name engraved on it for what seems like the hundredth time. He thinks about how this title belt is only the first of many that he will eventually hold, how it’s only a matter of time before his name is among all those before him in the record books. He looks over at his car and decides that it’s time to get going so he walks over to it, before pausing at the trunk. He gets that look on his face that just screams out trouble and he opens it up. He reaches into the trunk and slowly pulls out his Louisville Slugger, usually light brown but now has blood stains from recent attacks on it, and looks at it like it’s a long lost acquaintance.
Price: "This Sunday, you and I are going to have some fun old friend."
Price places the bat back into the trunk of his car and shuts it. He then climbs into the driver’s seat and drives off, headed toward the airport.
