Seth Lerch is seen in his office working on some paper work. A knock can be heard at the door. Seth looks up at the door.
Seth Lerch
Come in.
The door opens up and in walks a man carrying a pile of mail. Seth nods at the man and starts flipping through to see anything of interest. He stops at an envelope. The return address has the name of Hector Rodriguez on it.
Seth smirks as he grabs a nearby letter opener and slits the top of the envelope. He pulls out the letter. There are a couple pieces of paper. The first one is a message addressed by Hector's talent agent, Don Bradley. It states that included is a letter written by Hector Rodriguez but it has been translated by his agent. It is also pointed out in the letter that this was sent through Ticketmaster to all the fans who have been to the shows this year.
Seth's face turns to one of confusion as he tosses that paper into the trash and starts to read the letter.
Dear Reader,
Hello. My name is Hector Rodriguez. One month here in WCF. I've had three matches since the first opponent I would have had no showed. In my first month I have wrestled against some of the biggest stars in WCF, but last week I partnered up with a legend...WCF's Logan. The newspapers...the magazines...the online wrestling discussion forums...they're all abuzz with the alliance between myself and Logan. Some are saying I've doomed myself here in WCF and they agree with what Mr. Seth Lerch said. Others think it was the best career move I could possibly make.
"And Hector? How disappointing! Deciding to ally yourself with Logan? Trying to become more than just some random pairing, and actually work with the guy? Trust me, it doesn't pay off. One, he'll turn his back on you to get his way faster than you can say "hot dog." Or, "el hot doggo" or however you say it. Two, now you've incurred my wrath. I've never really liked you to begin with for whatever reason, but mark my words: at War, I have someone that will be gunning for you. The man that, back at Revenge, I announced would be returning. That was in your match, Hector. He may not have been able to show up last week, or the week before that, but I guarantee he'll be at War! And he'll eliminate you, Hector!"
Mr. Seth Lerch says these things as if I didn't consider the possibility that I could one day be turned on by anyone I form an alliance with here in WCF. Of course I have considered this possibility because look at the state of WCF, people run around being disrespectful to each other, to the fans, to the owner of the company itself. For the longest time I thought the problem here with disrespect was simply the fault of the wrestlers, but this past week on Slam, and after a lot of discussion with Mr. Don Bradley and my manager Carlos, we have come to the conclusion that the disrespect in the company stems from one person. There's one person who encourages. He enables it. I don't know why I didn't see it in the first place. Obviously, me being new here is the reason I didn't see it all along. I'm sure the veterans of WCF knew it all along. The person I'm speaking about who is the root of all disrespect here in WCF is...Seth Lerch.
Mr. Lerch, this all dawned upon me at the recent Slam. Not just with your words towards myself and Logan after our tag team match. No, at this point was when the pieces fell together. The thing that I found strange and started making me look at you differently was your actions towards Greenfever. The deranged lunatic who ran in and stole the belt of the United States of America from you. He completely disrespected you in front of everyone. What did you do? Did you punish him? No. You had him captured and brought to your office. You offered him another title belt, the Hardcore title, in return so that you could get back what you wanted. There was no punishment for his complete lack of respect, there was a reward instead.
It's no wonder this place is rampant with disrespect. It's no wonder I have a nearly impossible job of bringing back respect to this company. You have a world champion, Torture. Mr. Lerch, what have you ever truly done to stop this man from being disrespectful to WCF? Nothing. The most you've ever done to him in the nearly one year of WCF's current life is to make idle threats and occasionally send out a wrestler to deal with the problem.
This issue of disrespect stemming from your actions...is it just recent? No, this has been occuring for a long time. You even had a former wrestler run the company for several months. I'm referring to Grave Digger. He was almost as bad if not worse than Torture. Whatever did you do to him? You had a couple of his friends wrestle in some hard matches and you eventually put him and his friend Chester in a match where if they lost, they would be gone from WCF, only because they pathetically begged for title shot after title shot.
Now you threaten me with some mystery man who will show up. You claim that he will be the one to eliminate me. I welcome the challenge. I welcome your little attack. Seeing as how this place is so rampant with disrespect and your threats usually go nowhere, I feel that I have nothing to worry about. That coupled with my alliance with WCF veteran, Logan. Best career move I could possibly make? I disagree with those people. This wasn't a career move. I'm here to get rid of disrespect in WCF. Logan is one of the most disrespected people in the federation. They mock him in the dressing room when he's not there. They mock him in the newspapers, the magazines. The other wrestlers do not take him seriously in the ring. They act like he's a nobody. They quickly forget his accomplishments. Two-time War winner. Television champion. Two-time tag team champion. Four-time WCF champion. He's not some pushover like everyone thinks. Especially not now, with me at his side.
The way to rid this federation of its absurd amount of disrespect is two-fold. I must change the way people view the most disrespected man in the federation...this being Logan. I will help him in his quest to rid the WCF of scum like Torture and his little posse. This will not be some short process and I will not reveal the details of my plan, especially with how chaotic this place can be, I know that my plans right now will look drastically different from how they will look a couple of months from now. I will also stop Seth Lerch from encouraging all this disrespect here in WCF. The exact plan for this process is also something I cannot go into detail now as it will likely change between now and a couple of months in the future.
People are likely going to look at this letter and wonder what has come over me. Why the change. No, they will first question why these words are being written by myself, Hector Rodriguez, instead of my manager or talent agent. Obviously I do not have to be speaking on my own behalf since I have more than enough backed up the words said by them both on a weekly basis when I enter the ring. No, now that I have been dragged into the spotlight by Mr. Lerch and targeted by his 'wrath', it's obvious that it's time for a more direct approach.
I enter the War match this Sunday a relative unknown. Despite the owner targeting me and having nearly a month's worth of matches under my belt, I am still entering this match a newcomer. Fortunately, and at the same time unfortunately, I am also walking into that ring with people knowing not to underestimate me. I cleaned house in every match I've been in. I've gotten back up numerous times after moves were applied to me in the ring. This Sunday, I truly show the world why I am known as the Mexican Machine. I will not be in a tag team match facing one or two other tag teams. I will not be in a simple four-man battle royale. No, I will be competing with twenty-nine other superstars in an over-the-top battle royal match to decide the number one contender to the WCF championship of the world.
All of my intense weight training and cardio workouts are designed to prepare me for the grueling, daunting task that surviving the War match will be. Endurance, stamina, strength, willpower, intelligence. These things will all come into play at some point in the match. Having a big amount of each of these is basically a requirement to last more than a couple of minutes into this match. I could even walk into this match having been drawn as the number one participant in the match. I would then have to outlast the other twenty-nine superstars to win this match. Then again I could get lucky and be number twenty-nine and have to worry about whoever is left in the ring plus the last entrant, Slickie T.
As far as the participants go, my only hope is that when I hear my music playing in the arena, that Logan is still in the ring or if I come out first, that I last until his music plays. Of course having someone watch your back is no guarantee that you will make it to the end. One false move, one bout of hesitation and I could taste the outside mat and be escorted to the back. I'm in there with veterans of WCF. I'm in there with fellow newcomers. I'm in there with people somewhere in the middle. I'm in there with former world champions. Former tag team champions. Former champions of the United States.
Then there's the wildcard participant, this mystery man that Seth Lerch has waiting for me. I'm ready for him. I'm ready for anyone that it could be. It will likely be someone I recognize from the old tapes of WCF that I have watched. Obviously the only people who will be shocked will be those who have been around for a long time and the announcers. You can never truly be prepared for the unknown, but I will be as prepared as humanly possible. Don Bradley and Carlos Estrada are making sure of this. I will win. I have to win. So my war begins...
Sincerely Yours,
Hector Rodriguez
Seth is shown again. A really angry look crosses his face as he finishes reading the letter. He balls it up and tosses it with anger across the room. The camera cuts out a couple of seconds later.
