[glow=red,2,300]Once in a life time[/glow]
The scene opens looking toward the sky a light drizzle falls gently onto the New York City pavement. The street seems to be downtown as most building seems to be residential housing a few derelict cars line the street. Two homeless men hover around a thirty gallon drum throwing bits of wood on it causing the flames to crackle and send sparks into the air well putting there hands as close to the flames as possible one of the men takes a paper bag out of his coat pocket and raises it to his lips taking a swig before passing it to his companion. A set of headlights appear down the end of the street followed quickly followed by a spot light searching the street before coming to a rest on the two men who shield there eye’s from the burning light. The vehicle slowly creeps towards the two men and the sound of police radio breaks the silence of the night as a police car becomes visible coming to a stop next to the two men the passenger side window slowly winds down and a voice comes from within.
Policeman: “So Carl what’s the news”.
Carl the older of the men steps forward discreetly passing his drink to his companion and leans into the widow of the police car a smile creeps across his dirty face revealing his nicotine stained teeth well behind him his companion seizes the moment to start drinking the bottle quickly Carl swings around only to see his companion whistling innocently grunting at him he swings back around and begins to speak to the officer.
Carl: “Officer Davis I’m guessing you have heard the news then”.
Officer Davis: “Yeah I might have herd he is on his way back, has he arrived yet”.
Carl: “Maybe he has maybe he hasn’t”.
Officer Davis: “I’m not playing games with you Carl he’s dangerous you found that out all those years ago he dragged you and your mate down”.
Carl: “That’s your opinion Davis he put a roof over our head and food in our belly’s witch is allot more than you have done for us”.
Officer Davis: “Still as naive as you were back then he will use you for his own gain and then discard you like a piece of rubbish and scarper back to where ever he came from”.
Carl: “Last time I checked Officer Davis we broke no laws so why are you even here”.
Officer Davis: “You may not have broken the law but you came pretty dam close my advice if he shows up distance yourself because we will be keeping a close eye on him and you”.
Carl: “I will take it under advisement is there anything else Officer”.
Officer Davis: “That’s all for now Carl we will be seeing one another”.
With that the window of the car rolls back up and the police car slowly rolls away as an angry looking Carl flips the bird when he believes the car is far enough away that he can’t be seen that’s when a flash of light and a puff of smoke comes from an alleyway close by and a figure step out of the shadow’s. The man has on a long black leather trench coat it’s hood pulled up over his head a pair of black jeans and black steel caps, The man removes his hood to reveals his scared face as none other than Tyler Straven as he takes a long drag on the cigarette in his hand. Tyler’s face shows no emotion as he steps towards the fire looking at it intently Carl and his friend step back giving him some room as he just steers his eyes locked on the flames as they dance before his very eyes he takes a deep breath and begins to talk in low voice.
Tyler Straven: “I see my legacy still burns bright, did Chase get you started on the arrangements”.
Carl: “Well here’s the thing.......”.
Tyler Straven: “I don’t want excuses Carl you know what happened the last time you failed at a task I set you we don’t want a repeat of that now do we”.
Carl: “I tried but....”.
Tyler swings around toward Carl his face now showing a glint of anger Carl almost jumps out of his skin as Tyler grabs him by the collar of his shirt he pulls Carl in close bringing his face to the point where they are nose to nose he quickly grabs Carl’s hand and pulls him towards the barrel and pushes his hand onto the piping hot barrel Carl lets out a scream his companion throws the bottle in his hand to the ground and turns and run as a sick sadistic smile comes over Tyler face as he watch Carl trying everything he can think of to remove his hand from the red hot barrel. Tyler finally shows some mercy throwing Carl to the ground as he now holds his severely burnt hand tears rolling down his face Tyler turns back to the barrel and raises his hands to the flames as if nothing had happened and began to talk.
Tyler Straven: “Don’t test me Carl nothing has changed I haven’t gone soft and I still expect perfection from those that I employ I gave you a simple job to make sure the warehouse was ready for me but yet I find you here drinking in the street well you could be doing something constructive, once again you left me with no choice but to punish you and once again you prove why Chase keeps on telling me that you can’t be trusted that you are nothing more than drunk with a half a brain cell and you know what I am starting to think he’s right there is too much at stake here for you to make one misplaced step we are talking about a chance in a life time a comeback to rival any other and I need my team to be one hundred percent focused are you focused now Carl”.
Carl nods his head his face wincing in pain as he cradles his hand and crawls backs to gain a little distance between himself and Tyler as he pulls himself to his feet, Tyler takes another long drag on his smoke before throwing it to the ground and grinding it into the ground he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a thick wad of cash and throws it at Carl’s feet before he starts to talk again.
Tyler Straven: “Good to see that my motivational techniques are still very finely tuned because well you take care of the small details I can begin to immures my mind fine tune my body for one of the most gruelling most intense matches that I have ever participated in I cannot be distracted by your incompetence, the reality is this if I fail at War we will start from the bottom and I am no bottom feeder I am Tyler Straven I am the person who CWF fans and wrestler’s alike will respect and pay homage to me at first they will be shocked as I walk away for War having defeated the very best that CWF has to offer but at the same time will be in ore at the level of brutality and violence that I bring to the table and what better stage to do it on than Madison square garden the holiest of temples when it comes to a wrestlers career you win there and you name ends up on the marquee”.
“This match won’t be easy it’s going to take everything I have got in my arsenal there will be men just as motivated just as desperate as I am to climb to the top of the CWF mountain and this match is the quickest way to do it I will bleed I will suffer and you can dam well beat that I will not be the only one to do so my worries is that I am lone wolf out there I have no enemies I have no allies I have only myself to rely on in some ways that’s a good thing because if things go pair shaped in that ring there is only one person who can shoulder the blame and that’s the way I like it, there is one other thing that I hope will play out in my favour and that’s all these petty rivalries going on maybe this could be the distraction that could play in my favour allow me to fly below the radar so to speak and swoop in as the dust settles let them destroy each other let them wear themselves out it is of no benefit to me to get involved I fight my own battles not others”.
Carl: “No offences but you sound like you don’t have a plan”.
Tyler Straven: “In a way your right Carl I don’t but that’s the whole plan this sort of match you can’t calculate your opponents there is too much versions out there to many potential scenario’s that could unfold so the only plan is to try and think of every optional threat and make a plan for it should it arise but with things like not knowing what number you will enter how can you plan you could be the first person to step through that curtain or you could be well the second to last, there will be some skill needed in this match as well as some dam good luck I just hope that the other is this match have used up what little luck they have, The main thing is to stay focused to stay alert be ready for everything and anything and that’s why I have you and Chase to make my life a little easier so I can do what it is I do be best and that’s lock in The Sensationlizer and listen to the sound of somebody’s humanity screaming for the pain to stop much like you just did Carl to me that sound is like a drug it’s a high that cannot be match by any drug and for some it’s a nightmare a memory that they try with every fibre of there being to forget, some of the combatant’s are no laying in their bed wide awake deep in thought about this match doubt starting to creep into their minds and the second that doubt creeps in you might as well lay down and die because you have failed before you have even stepped in the ring much like you and you tendency to drink you life into oblivion but every time you try to bring yourself back for the abyss you let yourself be pulled back in that’s what this match comes down to your ability to block out all outside influences to put aside your emotion and focus on one thing and that making it to the end and having your hand raised in victory and mine will be held highest of all”.
Tyler moves away from the drum flipping the hood on his trench coat back over his head and glances at Carl a sneer on his face he says one last thing before turning and walking away.
Tyler Straven: “You have twenty four hours to get things organised or I break the fingers on your other hand”.
