[Bobby grabs the pile of envelopes from his mailbox and skims through them. He sees only bills and junk mail until he reaches the last envelope. This one is from Dennis Regent. Bobby opens the envelope and the enclosed letter reads as follows:
Dear Bobby,
Congratulations on your hard-fought victory over Reckless Jack. This brings us one step closer to our ultimate goal. The entire staff here at Regent Industries will be rooting for you at Payback. Don't let us down!
Sincerely,
Dennis Regent
CEO, Regent Industries
Bobby places the letter back into the envelope and walks over to the elevator. He takes the elevator up to his apartment and tosses the stack of mail onto the kitchen table. After grabbing a bottle of juice from the fridge, Bobby sits down on the couch and flips through the TV channels. Bobby's cell-phone rings a few minutes later. He checks the number and sees that it's from Zeke.]
Bobby: "Hey, Zeke. How are you feeling, man?"
Zeke: "Bobby, I'm feeling a lot better. Thanks."
Bobby: "That's great, man. You were pretty out of it for awhile."
Zeke: "Yeah. It was intense, man. Listen, I need your help down here at the bar."
Bobby: "What's wrong?"
Zeke: "I'm really bored."
Bobby: "Ok. I'll be right there."
[Bobby grabs his bicycle, takes the elevator downstairs and rides over to Zeke's Bar. He locks up his bike and goes inside.]
Zeke: "Hey, Bobby! Glad you could make it!"
Bobby: "Zeke! It's great to see you, bro!"
[Zeke pulls a bottle of Jack Daniels off the shelf.]
Zeke: "You want a shot, man?"
Bobby: "Bolts would kill me if he found out."
[Bobby thinks about it for a moment.]
Bobby: "On the other hand, I haven't had a chance to celebrate my win. Lay it on me, bro!"
[Zeke pours a couple of shots, which he and Bobby quickly down.]
Bobby: "That's the first drink I've had in two weeks. You know what? Let's do this!"
[Bobby hops the counter and grabs some Southern Comfort, Johnny Walker, Smirnoff, Bacardi and anything else he can get his hands on.]
Zeke: "Welcome back, Bobby!"
[Bobby and Zeke party for the next few hours; drinking, telling dirty jokes and shooting pool. Everything's going great, until Bobby has a revelation.]
Bobby: "Oh shit! I have to meet Lucy in 10 minutes!"
Zeke: "Bobby, I think you might be a little too fucked up."
Bobby: "Nah, man. I gotta go! I'll catch you later."
[Bobby stumbles outside to his bike. When he gets there, he finds a note pinned to the seat cushion.]
Bobby: "What the hell?"
[Bobby squints as he tries to read the note. The note says:
Meet me tomorrow at the park by the water fountain. Come alone.
Bobby stuffs the note into his pocket.]
Bobby: "That's some strange shit right there---WHOA!"
[Bobby trips and falls while trying to get onto his bike. He brushes himself off and tries again to get on the bike. This time he succeeds, beginning the very unsteady journey back home to meet Lucy.]
