The scene opens up in the WCF studios. Kyle Steel is sitting in a chair with a WCF crew member attaching a microphone to his suit. A few seconds later he's given a signal and starts talking.
Kyle Steel: Kyle Steel here for WCF. I'm here tonight to get an exclusive interview. We were planning on giving this interview in the morning before lunch, however after tonight's promo by The Superfans, Exodus and their manager Brian Borroughs were happy to give a special interview tonight. Now, live via satellite we have Brian Borroughs. Thank you, Brian, for joining us tonight. We really appreciate this.
The screen splits in two, with Kyle Steel on the left and Brian Borroughs on the right side.
Brian Borroughs: No problem, Kyle. As you've figured out by now we never have a problem being on camera, especially my brother who could talk for days on end without tiring, no matter who was listening. Ow!
Brian holds his arm and glares at someone off screen. Gravedigger pops up on the screen.
Gravedigger: Is the enjoyment of talking such a crime? Is seeing yourself on national television a bad thing? No, I don't think it is. So what's going on Kyle?
Kyle Steel: Nothing much, you guys ready for a few questions regarding your match tomorrow night and the words from your opponents just a little while ago?
Gravedigger: Sure, ask away.
Kyle Steel looks down at a card for a couple of seconds and then back at the camera.
Kyle Steel: Ok, this first question is for Chester.
Chester pops up on the screen, looking at the screen with curiosity.
Kyle Steel: Chester, word in the industry is that you're not quite ready to come back. That you're not 100%. You're coming off of that brutal attack that Logan and Jack of Blades performed on you a couple of months ago. You haven't even had a match yet and your first match back is a title match. What do you have to say about that?
Chester: It's all garbage is what the people are saying. Look, if I wasn't ready to return to the ring, I wouldn't be here. You wouldn't be even asking me this question. Gravedigger wouldn't be teaming with me if I wasn't ready to return to the ring. The attack was bad but it wasn't like they broke me in half or anything. Dobbie and myself were beaten pretty badly, but we didn't receive career-threatening injuries or anything.
Kyle Steel: Well that's great, even if the fans don't exactly cheer you guys, I'm sure they wouldn't want to see you out of a job or anything. Another thing that needed to be addressed to you was the Superfans' words about how you're being held down by Gravedigger, who he claims is a camera hog, and they kept bringing up the fact that Gravedigger attacked you in the past.
Chester smirks at the camera.
Chester: Superfans, do you actually think that I care how much camera time I get? Do you honestly think I care if Gravedigger or my other brother Brian speak for me? I could care less how much I appear with a microphone in front of my mouth. All I care about is what happens between those ropes. You wanna talk about my brother attacking me like that's supposed to put some kind of wedge between us. Really? You think bringing up things like that is going to cause us to start hating on each other? We're not random strangers who became friends, we're flesh and blood. Beating each other up is a part of being brothers. Brothers fight, brothers argue. We've had our times at each other's throats and we've had our times when we would kill for each other. We've been there for each other in the ring when it was needed.
Kyle Steel: Mark claims that you likely beat Chester up due to losing a shot at some title, Gravedigger.
Gravedigger pops up on the screen opposite Kyle Steel. He busts out laughing for a few seconds.
Gravedigger: Is that really what you nobodies think is that I attacked him due to losing a title shot? There's one thing you two rookies don't understand and that is when I get a title shot, I rarely EVER lose the match for said title. You sit there talking about how I'm some kind of sore loser, but the thing is, I'm fine with not winning every match I wrestle in, because I win when it matters. You claim I'm jealous of you, I'm going to have to agree.
Kyle Steel: What do you mean? What are you jealous of?
Gravedigger: I'm jealous because Seth Lerch didn't walk up to me the night I debuted and handed me a title belt. I'm jealous because I had to go through the competition to win my title belts. I'm not some nobody here in WCF, Superfans. I'm a multi-time world champion and tag team champion here in WCF. I've won some of the biggest matches in WCF history. I've beaten majority of the greatest wrestlers to ever grace a WCF ring. If you look at the WCF Hall of Fame, you will soon realize that I've beaten nearly every wrestler in it. Hell, I'm IN THE HALL OF FAME.
You sit there in front of your little cake running your mouths asking why the Era of Exodus has just now started and didn't happen months ago when we came here. Oh wait...I get what's happening here.
Gravedigger starts laughing.
Gravedigger: You guys are doing an impression right now. I know who you're impersonating. You're imitating a pair of morons. You want to know why the Era of Exodus just now started? Because myself and Chester just now reformed the tag team a couple of weeks ago. What were we doing months ago when we came here?
Gravedigger pauses and taps his finger on his chin, looking like he's deep in thought.
Gravedigger: Kyle, care to tell them?
Kyle Steel: You were heading up a faction known as The Dark Side which consisted of you, your brother Chester, his tag team partner Dobbie, and your bodyguard Mike D. You had taken away ownership of WCF and were therefore the owner of WCF. The Dark Side rained down havoc upon the wrestlers of WCF and nearly ended the company itself. Seth Lerch had to rally together a bunch of people for one epic match to finally topple you and the rest of The Dark Side. He spent months pitting you against WCF wrestlers who could not beat you.
Gravedigger grins sarcastically at the screen.
Gravedigger: Mark...Marc, maybe before running your mouths next time you might want to do your research. You want to run around impersonating tag teams and all that but you really know nothing about them other than their music, attire, and their moves. It's ironic that you two run your mouths about us being just spot wrestlers and wannabes when it comes to the hardcore. Apparently earlier when you watched us on TV in our promo you were imitating deaf guys, because it was stated that I'm the Epitome of Hardcore.
It means I'm the definition of hardcore. I'm not just some talentless hack wannabe hardcore wrestler. You sit there running your mouths badmouthing the hardcore wrestling style, well you're going to get a quick wake-up call here in WCF, because that's what this place is full of: people who love to use weapons and get hardcore. Go to the production booth and ask for some tapes from the previous pay-per-views, they're full of hardcore style matches. We will introduce you to WCF this Sunday in the ring.
Kyle Steel: Ok thanks Gravedigger. Now, I have a couple of questions for Brian. Brian, Marc talked about how holding the WCF Tag Team titles should impress your boys because they hold prestige. Also, Mark said that holding the tag team titles means they're the top tag team in WCF.
Brian appears on the screen.
Brian Borroughs: It means you're the top tag team in WCF? The titles hold prestige?
Brian chuckles for a couple of seconds before continuing.
Brian Borroughs: You know, it's funny that you two made those statements. First of all, you think by holding those tag team titles that it makes you the top tag team in WCF. Answer me this: what did either of you do to earn them? You walked out from the back and were handed them for no reason. You hadn't appeared on TV before, you hadn't wrestled a single match with the company before. You haven't defended them, yet you think the tag team titles mean something on you. They mean NOTHING around your waists. If by some near impossible miracle of a chance you are still wearing them come Monday morning, THEN and ONLY then will they mean something around your waists.
You claim that the belts hold prestige, there's something you don't realize. The two guys in the room with me, Gravedigger and Chester, are former WCF tag team champions. Gravedigger has held the titles twice with different partners both times. They earned both shots by winning MATCHES. They won the titles by winning MATCHES. They even defended their tag team titles. The last time these two held the titles as a tag team together, they never lost the belts. So you talk about the prestige these belts hold and it's because of teams like the one you're facing at Ultimate Showdown.
Kyle Steel: The Superfans also made comments about how Gravedigger acts like he believes he's entitled to title shots and all that.
Brian Borroughs: BELIEVES he's entitled? THINKS he's entitled? No, you have it wrong. Gravedigger KNOWS he's entitled to these shots and he WILL get shots at the belts he wants to. Seth Lerch is doing everything he can to keep Gravedigger from getting what he wants, because when Gravedigger wants something, he GETS it. This Sunday, Exodus WILL win the tag team titles.
The screen goes back to one panel, with Kyle Steel in it.
Kyle Steel: Well, this is Kyle Steel for WCF. I would like to thank Gravedigger, Chester, and Brian Borroughs for their time. Tune in tomorrow night for WCF Ultimate Showdown!
The scene fades to black.
