A new life. Usually comes after a mid-life crisis, or just when we think we’ve lost our way and something rights us.
It’s hard to tell how many times Skyler has had to restart his life. It happened when he transformed from the Fatebringer to the Fury Crusader. It happened again when he left the names behind and became Skyler Striker. Cairo kidnapping Jade began another new life. And now that the ordeal is over, Skyler, with relatively little left to do except wrestle, is left with another new life – and a challenge from an unknown source to love.
The last few changes and beginnings of new life have lead Skyler to new things. But this time, it’s different.
The new change to Skyler is not going to end. The new change will last forever, no matter how many new lives Skyler thinks he may be leading. The life of passion, of desire, of love – no matter what forms it takes – is going to stay with Skyler until his dying day.
This awakening will not lead Skyler to another sleep.

Hello, Dave. I just wanted to send you this email to say a few things.
First, I need to thank you. Second, I need to inform you that on most of your accounts, you are sorely mistaken. But it’s always good to start things out on a good note.
So first, the thanks. I thank you for showing respect in a world that has little.
That’s it.
Second, unfortunately, as hard as you tried to agree with me, you’re just plain wrong. Your post-modernistic views on religion and ‘everybody’s got theirs’ are wrong. The fact you think I’m struggling to believe my own faith is wrong. The fact that you even thought I wanted a reply from you is wrong. My surveillance systems are there just so I know who’s talking about me and who’s not. I don’t care if you’re not. Usually, if you don’t, it means I have one less message to send.
I don’t doubt you, Holland. I know you’re a good guy, and you’ve got a lot going for you. But being booked by Seth to fight with Creeping Death, who’s afraid of any move I make that even sounds like Lockdown, and with Epic, who also refuses to go near me, against the Television Champion, the only man who even stood a close chance of defeating me and myself was an unfortunate event.
You will not leave that ring the same, Holland. Index Three is not to be messed around with. You’re here because you have problems with Ragnal, and that’s fine. I understand that. But you’re in the ring with me, and every single person who’s been in that situation has lost.
I’ve lost a grand total of three singles matches in the WCF, Holland. In 21 singles matches, I have lost three. Two if you count clean losses. One to Jack of Blades, and one to J.J. Biggs. Both men whom I respect immensely. The other loss was to Seth, but only because Boone chose to stick his nose where it didn’t belong. People who step in the ring with me generally don’t have high chances of exiting with the big W.
So know two things, Holland. One, I respect you, and I look forward to playing with you in the ring. Two, that playing is all it’s going to be.
See you in the ring, Holland.

And with the letter sent, Skyler’s new journey begins. An awakening like no other.
