THE BOOK OF EXTREME
The End is Nigh
Part One
The End is Nigh
Part One
It was the end of WCF, but that didn’t mean it was the end for Mikey eXtreme. In fact, he had found himself in a familiar spot: a Hardcore Championship match. The two time WCF Hardcore champion was gearing up to become the last ever Hardcore Champion in history.
Was that something that intrigued Mikey eXtreme? The man who had just won the AW Havoc Rumble? The man who had earned himself a shot at another World Championship wanted more. He wanted everything. He wanted every championship that he could get his hands on, and the WCF Hardcore Championship was one of those belts that he had cherished during his career. A championship that he had fought tooth and nail to get his hands on. A championship that had eluded him time after time after time until that moment that he finally was able to grasp it, and take it off the waist of Kyle Kemp.
That Hardcore Championship means almost everything to Mikey eXtreme. It symbolizes his chase towards the top. It symbolizes everything that Mikey eXtreme had ever fought for. As much as the world championship means to him, it wasn’t something he thought would ever be possible, but it was the Hardcore Championship that he chased, that he longed for, that he wanted more than anything.
And now?
A chance to be remembered as the last ever WCF Hardcore Champion. A chance to go down in the history books and never be forgotten. Who was more HARDCORE than the King of eXtreme? Nobody. It just made sense for Mikey to go out holding that championship, a belt that he never should have lost to Odin Balfore in the first place. A belt that should have been squarely around his waist but was taken from him.
But in that taking, awoke a demon..
Mikey eXtreme: You know, I always thought my WCF career was going to be defined by a series of matches with Bernard Core and Vengeance. I always thought I would be remembered for an ideal version of the greatest country on the planet. MY America, Mikey’s America.
But this match changes everything.
My career, everything that I’ve worked for, everything that I’ve done inside that WCF ring can be defined by that Hardcore Championship, and there’s nothing that I want more than to be remembered as the face of HARDCORE, the face of violence, the most dangerous person to step foot inside that squared circle.
My career has been full of ups and downs. I’ve climbed to the top of the mountain and Odin Balfore threw me right off. He ended everything. He took everything that I had worked for away from me without even breaking a sweat. Not only did he send me down that mountain but he put me out of action and almost ended my career, but I fought back.
I fought tooth and nail and I began to climb that mountain once again. I climbed back up to that Hardcore Championship and I grasped it as only I could, but there was Odin again. There he was to rip that belt from my hands and send me within an inch of my life back down to the summit of that mountain, and I didn’t think it was possible to come back. I didn’t think there was anything that Michael X could do to beat him.
And as I laid there at the base of that mountain, as the vultures circled above, I seen my life flash before my eyes. I seen the end of days, the end of this game.. The ENDGAME, if you will. I seen what it was like, and it wasn’t Odin Balfore, it wasn’t FPV, it wasn’t Roy Speede, it wasn’t Oblivion, it wasn’t Andre Holmes.. It was Mikey eXtreme standing above everyone. It was Mikey eXtreme that was bringing this world to an end. It was Mikey eXtreme that had to be awoken, and it was ODIN BALFORE who had woken him.
We can take the other names out of this match, Odin. We can stand in there toe to toe because this is where the magic is. This is where the story has brought us, you defeated the Church of Singh, you brought it crashing down hard. You destroyed it in front of the world’s eyes, but in doing so you unleashed Mikey eXtreme back onto the world and you’ll have to deal with that. As we stood in the middle of that AW ring at HAVOC, I knew then and there that this story was not over. It was a different feeling, a different mind set, a different outcome. I knew that I could destroy anything in my way, almost with the snap of my fingers.
My eyes are set upon you, Odin. Ol’ X is stepping into that ring in New York City and I’m taking you on a trip. We’re in my backyard, and I’ll be damned if I’m stepping out of that match without that Hardcore Championship, and a few heads along the way.
You talk a big game, Odin. A big game that you have earned, but that won’t stop me from stomping your head into the pavement. That won’t stop me from mauling you in the middle of that ring and asserting my dominance.
I’m coming for your head, Odin. I’m coming to prove to the WCF Galaxy that I am the greatest. That I am the most ruthless, that I am the fucking HARDCORE CHAMPION.
A smile comes across Mikey’s face.
Mikey eXtreme: But you’re not the only mother fucker in this match, Odin, and I’m glad that my last WCF match will include a sort of redemption of sorts against one Andre Holmes.
Michael’s eyes furiously look towards the camera.
Mikey eXtreme: Andre, how long has it been?
WIthout waiting a moment, Michael answers.
Mikey eXtreme: Almost exactly two full years since the last time we stepped into that ring for the Hardcore Championship and stole the show. Two fucking years, Andre.
Believe me, I haven’t forgotten it. That Aftermath was supposed to be the start of something great, the start of an era of DARKNESS so profound that there would be no recovery. Everyone was to bow down before me and worship the ground that I walk on. But it was you that walked out of that match with the Hardcore Championship. It was you that got to live the champion’s life, and it was back to the drawing boards for me and I eventually captured the OMEGA championship, but it wasn’t what I wanted.
It wasn’t what I needed.
It was that Hardcore Championship that was calling out to me. It was screaming for me to take it and I failed it. I failed miserably.
But now, you’ll be standing across from me in that ring, Andre. You’ll be there for the first time in what feels like ages with that cocky smile on your face, but times have changed. Times have become real DARK around here and I’m not letting you escape with that championship again. I’m not letting you take what belongs to me.. I’m not letting you escape this time. You were smart the last time the rules were suspended, when you didn’t show up for that AGE OF ULTRON match.
That was smart, but getting yourself involved in this match was a mistake. Getting yourself involved in my hunt to return to my HARDCORE Championship will go down as the biggest mistake of your career. This belt’s final holder needs to be worthy, and I’m sorry, Andre, but you are not worthy.
Michael calms down slightly, he takes a deep breath and releases it.
Mikey eXtreme: Do I address the unworthy jobbers that have also wandered into this match? People like FPV, who had a great run a few decades back in the fed and would like to remind the world of his dominance or some shit but really, that was so long ago that nobody remembers, or at least, like me, nobody cares. Nobody cares at all.
The biggest moment of your life, FPV, came at WAR when I allowed you to pin me in the middle of that ring. Anything before that and after that fails to compare to the biggest pinfall of your life. And at ENDGAME, the WCF Galaxy gets to witness the brutal destruction of Frank P… what the hell is your name again?
A smirk crosses Michael’s face.
Mikey eXtreme: Roy Speede? The first ever AW World Champion, stepping face to face with the next AW Champion.
Michael’s smirk grows.
Mikey eXtreme: It wasn’t too long ago that I was stepping into the ring during the WCF Tag League to face Roy Speede and Jayson Price. I was prepared to take that match but my tag team partner that night fell asleep at the wheel and cost us everything. I’ve got no dead weight attached to me here, Roy. Unlike you and FPV, or are you the dead weight?
You’ll both be dead weight at the end of this match, and don’t take it personally, but this is ALL about me. You’ll both be drowning in pools of your own blood as I step over your lifeless corpses as I walk towards my Hardcore Championship. Nothing is stopping me. NOTHING. Not even that monster locked away inside Jakob Lister.
Mikey looks deep into the camera.
Mikey eXtreme: I’m talking to you, Oblivion. There’s no sense for you to make an appearance. Stay locked away, and let Lister do the dirty work here, because there’s no reason to be humiliated in front of the entire WCF Galaxy. There is no reason for everyone to look down on one of the most frightening people to step foot inside that ring. Don’t let their nightmares fade. Don’t let their fear dwindle. Don’t let them forget the good times of the monster..
And do that by staying away.
Do that by keeping the monster at bay. Do that by shielding the monster from the onslaught that is headed his way if he pokes his head out of that curtain, Jakob.
Mikey takes a deep breath as he looks away from the camera.
Mikey eXtreme: But, we both know that monster doesn’t listen to reason. It wants blood. It wants carnage. It wants that Hardcore Championship one last time.
Trust me, Obi. There will be blood. There will be carnage. There will be pain…
And in the end, out of the DARKNESS..
I will step out of that match as the last Hardcore Champion that WCF ever has. The greatest Hardcore Champion of all time.
Mikey glances towards the camera one last time, his eyes paint the picture. He is focused and he is hungry. He doesn’t want his WCF legacy to end with a loss and he’s determined to not let that happen.
Six men are stepping into that match to put on the most brutal showing in the company’s history. But, only one can step out with that championship. Only one can hoist that belt up for a final time..
Mikey eXtreme will be that one.
