Now I know yesterday I stated I didn't have time for a last WCF match. Some things changed at work, created more free time, but maybe I was just lying to myself to begin with anyway. I have always had time for this place.
Then it hit me. WCF is closing. I have purposely tried my best to avoid this place the last three-four years after that Mexico deal and a lot of people left over it. I did not want to be the reason or at least part of the reason people may possibly leave if I was to return. If me coming back hurt the WCF in any shape or form I did not want to be the burden responsible for that.
It's frustrating. You want to be a part of a place you have loved since you were 12 years old, but at the same time you don’t want to be the reason it fails. Maybe I'm thinking too highly of myself? I don't know. Logan being back in WCF just always gave me the vibe it was bad news - bad for WCF.
So I stayed away. I teased the idea of coming back once or twice but it always seemed like the wrong thing to do for WCF. And that's why I'm saying this publicly because I love this place. Honest to God LOVE this place.
But it hit me… WCF is closing. Would it come back? Maybe. But what if it didn't? What if WCF doesn't ever come back? We COULD be actually looking at the last show of a 19 year e-fed.
It's not right. It doesn't feel right. I mean think about it, why did we even join WCF to begin with? We don't get paid to write. You don't get school credits. This isn't something you can slap a resume on for a job application. We joined WCF because we love what we do and we love, I love, to write for WCF.
So why does something we all have in common, we all love doing have to end? Sure there are other feds. But just look at how many matches are on WCF's last show. Look at how many people WANTED to take part of WCF for maybe one last time.
I'm begging everyone who signed up to remember all those special times WCF gave them and see if WCF can give them some more. I'm begging everyone old and new who returned for this last show to give WCF a chance to live on, for you to come back, despite rather how much time you have, even if it's just a little… give it to WCF, not just for a last hee-raw, but for as long as you possibly can.
Whatever differences anyone has with each other they are meaningless in the bigger picture, and that bigger picture is… what if this is it? We have the opportunity to do something about it. Please let's DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
If Jayson Price has the players I'm sure he'd be happy to keep this place alive as he has been. Let's do it. I already know a few people I could get back in here. Please, this can't be the end.
