WCF TV Title Match: Tempest Razum vs. Teo Blaze (c)
SLAM 4/15/19
"Blazed and Confused"
Word Count: 2,500
-----------------------------------------
Our scene opens up in what looks to be a camp site. But we see a heavily damaged log cabin with no roof and decaying sidings sitting next to another log cabin that is actually under construction. Surrounded by lush green trees and piles of lumber, is a makeshift sparring dummy. This dummy is made out of a simple cross-planked set of woods with heavy sand bags and burlap sacks tightly tied on to it. A face is painted on the dummy, complete with actual sunglasses stabbed into it. The camera retreats a little to broaden our view and we now see Tempest standing a few feet in front of the dummy, looking at it with a raised eyebrow and a smirk.
TEMPEST:
“It isn’t anything new. I’ve been doing this shit for so long that it all just becomes routine after a while. Another decade passes, another batch of dummies I gotta enlighten. This time the dummy comes in the form of you, Teo Blaze. How unfortunate for you, man. I’ll tell you this though; It isn’t as much a waste of my time as I initially thought… Apparently, you really are one of the top dogs in WCF. You have, what is it, two? Three championships? I don’t even fucking know, and I don’t really give a shit either. What I do care about is how sweet it is going to be to give your career the Dirty Sanchez it has been long overdue for. Maybe that retired Del Sol bullshit you used to tout makes a comeback once you’re sporting that brown mustache I’ll give you after the spiritual Ass Ramming I’m putting you through. But for me it is just going to be an opportunity to laugh in the faces of the WCF hopefuls that think you’re such hot shit because you’re a decorated champion. Even if I give credit where credit is due, the truth is, that as one of WCF’s greatest achievers… You’re still not ready to get in to that ring with the likes of me.”
Tempest’s sheer camisol forms waves in the wind that invades her personal space and the hanging naval ring she wears makes a slight windchime noise. We see a silhouette walk behind her before coming around to the front. Tempest smiles as we hear an eerily familiar voice with a low raspy growl to it.
SAVAGE:
“You know, Temptress… The point of these combat dummies is that you have to actually combat the dummy… Not speak to it. What do you intend on doing to Teo Del Sol in the ring? Talk to him until he taps?”
TEMPEST:
“You know, Noble… IF I wanted any shit from you, I would pull Bonnie Blue’s Sea-blue strap on out of your ass.”
Noble Savage is staring dead at the face of Tempest, but is has absolutely no facial expression whatsoever.
SAVAGE:
“I bet that's funny. I’ll have to ask Noble about it later. Now, get to sparring. You have no idea what it’s like to face someone like Teo Blaze. You’re going to need focus. Discipline. Consistency… And that’s only if you want to still walk after you lose… Aside from that, if you want to actually win… You’re going to have to tap into your innermost primal being and embrace your survival instincts.”
TEMPEST:
“And become a Savage… Like you…?! Thanks, but no thanks. Your ways are too black and white. You either think with your heart, act with your brain… Nah, Savage, that’s not me… I don’t see things so black and white, I clearly see that there are also grey areas in the world - colors, even. And although I understand you faced Teo, and made a fool him, in the past… I don’t believe I can adopt your methods, when mine will work perfectly fine.”
Tempest now rips off her camisole and tosses it aside. She proceeds to do the same with her long skirt; stripping down to her metallic bra and panties. The jewelry she wears are covering more of her body than her undergarments are, which inspires a head shaking sigh from Noble Savage. Tempest now leaps forth at the dummy and grips its shoulders, then flips over it. Tempest tries to flip the dummy over her head, but it is buried too solidly into the ground. Tempest holds on to it, using her backside as leverage trying to raise it…
Tempest ends up breaking the dummy at the mid-back area, but continues to pull, until she rips it clean from out of the ground. Although broke, it is still tied together by the burlap sack, so Tempest flips it over her and slams it down. Tempest proceeds to engage the dummy with a Dragon Sleeper. Tempest looks up at Noble Savage and winks at her. Tempest blows a kiss right before snapping the dummy into pieces from the hold.
Upon noticing this, Noble Savage lets out a subtle smile. But her smile is cut short very quickly when she notices that Tempest now flips into a Muta Lock on the dummy.
TEMPEST:
“Call for your God! Scream for me! Call for him!”
SAVAGE:
“That’s enough!”
Tempest releases the hold on the now mangled pile of sand, logs, and burlap. She gets up to her feet now, with a grin on her face, and gets close to Noble Savage.
TEMPEST:
“What’s the matter, Savage? Afraid someone can actually do it better than you?”
SAVAGE:
“Don’t be ridiculous, Temptress. That was flattering, if anything. You and Noa are both great competitors, and I am more proud to call you my sisters than anything else. The only reason I said that’s enough is because you don’t know what the God Caller does… When you are dealing with wood the way you are now… The God you may be calling could be Gaia herself… or even worse… Nature.”
TEMPEST:
“Nature…? As in…”
LADY ABERNATHY:
“It is quite alright… I was already here.”
Lady Abernathy walks up to them from among a stack of logsl. Tempest looks at her with an understanding furrow of her brow and a nod. Noble Savage smirks.
SAVAGE:
“Understand this, Tempest… When I faced Teo… He wasn’t Teo Blaze… He was Teddy, and he was Del Sol… He wasn’t the cold calculating menace he is now. He wasn’t even the Television Champion yet. He was a confused man trying to figure himself out. Now that he has fully embraced both of his demons, he is nothing to take lightly. So, I invited Abernathy here to help guide you and guarantee -not only your victory- but your survival entirely.”
LADY ABERNATHY:
"That is correct, Temptress. Teo Blaze lacked guidance. But now he IS a leader. He used to hide under a mask and thought that if he took it off he’d be a changed man, but now he realized that he didn’t take the mask off, the mask took him off. And much like many others who dabbled with powers byond their intellect, he fell. But from the ashes rose a new Teo Blaze, just like the legendary phoenix. But I am here to tell you, that legendary phoenix is just as dazed and confused as he ever was; another broken man, ready for the scrap heap.”
TEMPEST:
“I am not here to do make friends, Lady. You already know that. I am here to break bones. I came in to this fucking place with a chip on my shoulder and I have every reason to. Everyone sees it too. Do you seriously believe the WCF Management team would ever sanction a match between me and Teo Blaze if they didn’t believe it would be an even match? They want to sell tickets and put asses in seats! I wasn’t brought here by you, Abernathy, or even by Savage for that matter. I was brought here by Agatha, and I arrived with Noa. Why do you think I’m having singles opportunities and Noa isn’t? Because they see my potential and capabilities for destruction, and they know that the sick sad world we live in is full of sadistic fucks who only want to see someone get hurt! And that is what I am good at delivering… Pain… I hurt people, Lady. And Teo Blaze isn’t that fucking special, he can get hurt too, and he will… A LOT. The only question that remains to be asked is do I really want to fight a fucking champion without getting a chance to become one myself?”
At that point, we hear a loud annoying laugh coming from the woods. It is none other than Agatha, who comes walking out with Noa by her side. They approach Abernathy and Savage while Agatha speaks to Tempest.
AGATHA:
"I love that you are helping train my Tempress, Savage. But I only want you to train her in the physical aspects of the sport… Don’t try to tell her how to think… Tempest is wise beyond her years, and… Believe me… Her wisdom dates back more years than you can recall… Teo Blaze, on the other hand, is an obnoxious newcomer to the world who has only been around for less than three decades. He is a threat, yes, but only to those average every day run-of-the-mill fighters that you’ve made losers out of in your tenure. To someone like my Temptress, however, Teo Blaze is nothing more than another name to add on to the list.”
NOA:
“You broke him, Savage, and in the worst way. You ended him and gave him a new birth day.”
SAVAGE:
“But Tempest should remain sharp. Teo is no longer a small flame. He is as fierce as a wildlife, and I assure you, when I faced him, he was not. If I knew back then what I know today, I would have ended him, instead of making him reborn… I was not as lucky as you are, Tempest. I had to figure things out on my own. Abernathy wouldn’t even utter a single word to me at the time. Fortunately for you, Savage is here to make sure you succeed where I failed. If you ever try to use my God Caller in battle, please be sure that you know which God your victim will summon. With Teo Blaze, I wouldn’t take any chances. That’s why when I faced him, I finished him off with the Tomb Seeker instead. But I had no idea he would come back twice as powerful after that. Take heed to the words I am saying to you, Temptress… You are facing a true champion."
TEMPEST:
“But you have said it yourself, a few times now, that cutting Teo Blaze down to size wasn't such a task… And then he does his usual smoke and mirrors tricks to convince the WCF Galaxy that he is a changed man. I mean… He’s done it dozens of times in the past, so why are you treating this one as if it were the real deal? What makes THIS incarnation of Teo Blaze so God Damn different?”
SAVAGE:
“Simple: I felt the power he gained after I stomped him. Is that a good enough answer for ya? Even if it wasn't by my choice that he and I faced one another, I knew his problem is not with me. He had problems with himself, and it was my appointed privilege to put those problems to sleep. But once I curb stomped him into seeing things clearly… He Kinda leveled up.”
Noble Savage takes a step toward the mangled dummy while reaching behind her waist for a vile full of purple glowing liquid. Savage bends down and pours the purple fluid on the dummy, then looks at Lady Abernathy and nods.
NOA:
“Many times I've seen this done, but it is usually on more than one.”
AGATHA:
“I don't think that's what you think it is.”
Lady Abernathy steps forth and moves her hand in a circular motion over the dummy. Purple smoke begins to escape from the pile and seeping in to her hand. Lady Abernathy then snaps her finger and the dummy pile bursts into flames. Noble Savage and Lady Abernathy back away as if giving the fire room to grow. Agatha sees this and takes a step back as well. Noa takes a step forward in an attacking motion but is tugged back by Agatha. Tempest, being the only one that did not move an inch, watches as the piile of broken dummy begins to rumble.
TEMPEST:
“How the fuck did you just do that? I've never seen Necromancy performed on still-life before.”
LADY ABERNATHY:
“It isn't necromancy. It is something you are very familiar with…”
TEMPEST:
“... Adorcism?”
SAVAGE:
“Bingo.”
The flaming pile of distorted burlap and logs now reshapes itself into a six foot tall humanoid husk of charred wood and violent flames. It takes a measured step toward Tempest, who does not back down at all.
SAVAGE:
“See, Tempest. Teo Blaze ain't the dummy you sparred with. If you want something that more closely resembles Teo, then here you have it. This is the real danger you will be facing.”
Tempest plants her foot firmly behind her and prepares to attack in a guarded stance.
TEMPEST:
“Teo Blaze is having a gay old time in WCF and he's probably just as dangerous as you say he is, but you keep forgetting to factor in one thing… That I am Tempest! I am the merciless executioner of the Xanadu Dungeons. I bathe in fire just for the simple pleasure of feeling the burn. It arouses me. And although Teo may be a little dangerous, he isn't nearly as unrelenting as the Wrath of Razum.”
Tempest suddenly super kicks the walking flaming abomination, sparking bits of charred pieces from it, then quickly spins around and grasps it from the waist. She doesn't seem to care that her skin is burning from contact and raises it, then slams it with a German Suplex.
The fiery atrocity cracks slightly but it groans and gets up again. It then swings a haymaker at Tempest, and she ducks under it, grabbing the beast from behind with a crucifix power bomb that shatters it to dozens of red hot pieces of charcoal. Noble Savage grins with excitement.
SAVAGE:
“The Crux Ansata, very nice finishing touch, Temptress. If you do that to Teo this Monday you will surely become the new Television Champion.”
Tempest freezes dead in her tracks and her jaw drops.
TEMPEST:
“Wait what? The fucking Television Title is on the line for this match?!”
Noble Savage and Lady Abernathy look at each other confused, slightly worried that Tempest would be so fierce while training for what she thought was a Non-Title Match. They can tell that not only Teo Blaze, but the whole world is in trouble if the Wrath of Razum is unleashed. Agatha and Noa giggle while Tempest still seems to be in shock.
Fade to black.
