Michael sat across from none other than WCF’s own, Hank Brown. The two hadn’t conducted an interview for WCF programming in quite some time and this was a relief to Hank, not having to deal with the volatile nature and sadistic tendencies of Michael X. Ol’ X has been known to hurt Hank, has been known to torture Hank, and on rare occasion, has been known to kidnap Hank Brown.
Today, The Dark Prophet seemed like he was in a better mood. He didn’t seem like he was going to do anything to Hank, but Hank had to be on his guard. Michael X could snap at any moment and this interview could take a turn for the worst over anything. Hank Brown had to watch what he was saying, he had to think before each question, but most importantly, he had to get the answers. He had to get people talking, and sometimes that meant making the talent that he was interviewing a bit uncomfortable.
Michael X got violent when he was uncomfortable.
Hank Brown: Hello, everyone, and welcome to another edition of our award winning YouTube series, Hank on the Road!
Michael sat back and thought to himself, this fucking guy won an award? This shit he does won an award? Michael laughed. This was all absurd to him. The fact that Hank Brown could be recognized for anything that he did just couldn’t be possible. Hank Brown was a moron, he was a fucking idiot, and this guy was given an award?
Hank Brown, ignored Michael’s laughter and continued on with his introduction.
Hank Brown: Today we are here live with a former World Champion, he has also held the Hardcore Championship, the Tag Team Championships, the United States Championship, and was the first ever Omega Champion, ladies and gentleman, I give you none other than the WCF’s own Dark Prophet, Michael X!
Hank begins a moderate clap. It’s not too slow, but it’s not too fast either. The sound doesn’t echo as if this is something that Hank Brown has worked on for quite some time. This is the part of the show where Hank would normally extend his hand to the guest and they would shake each other’s hand, but this is Michael X that he’s dealing with and he doesn’t want to give Michael a chance to hurt him.
Hank Brown: It’s been quite some time since I last sat down with you, Michael. I honestly don’t remember the last time we were together.
Michael rolled his eyes. This wasn’t going to be any fun.
Michael X: And sadly, here we are, Hank.
Michael never wanted to actually spend any time getting interviewed by Hank Brown, but his WCF contract had a clause that required him to promote his upcoming matches to the best of his ability, and Hank Brown was a tool that the WCF could readily provide to Michael to do just that. So, here Michael sat, directly across from Hank Brown. Hank Brown, on the other hand, hated working with Michael X, but it was his job and he did whatever the WCF needed him to do.
Hank ignored Michael’s snide remark and continued on with the show.
Hank Brown: You haven’t had much luck since your return, you came back and beat the competition’s Tag Team of the Year, but then were thrown into the Tag League where your team managed to lose every match. You have been quite vocal about your partner in the past few weeks, so I won’t press that issue.
Michael doesn’t care where Hank is actually trying to go with this and instead of actually allowing him to finish his question, Michael responds.
Michael X: We didn’t lose the Tag League, Hank. Jaice Wilds lost that thing all by himself. The fucking bum never deserved to be on a team with me, so we weren’t partners, Hank. As far as the world goes, I never entered that shit show.
Hank Brown:: Strong words here from our guest, today. But I want to dive a little deeper, I want to get away from the tag league for a moment. You were able to defeat our current Hardcore Champion, Jay Omega, in a match that Omega himself made into a Hardcore Match in order to try to bring Hardcore back to the mainstream. How did it feel to pick up such a big victory?
Michael X goes to speak but promptly stops himself. He sits back for a moment and thinks. A grin takes over his face and he looks at Hank Brown and laughs.
Michael X: Back to the mainstream, huh? Is that where this company is now? That hardcore wrestling has fallen off the face of the planet once Michael X had dropped that championship? Had everything I did to make that belt matter just been thrown away and forgotten? Every match that I have inside that WCF ring, I try to keep hardcore alive. I don’t care about rules, Hank. I do what has to be done at whatever cost.
But if Omega wants to take it upon himself to bring Hardcore back to the mainstream, well, I have one brilliant idea. Drop that title off to me whenever you get a chance, because that’s the only thing that’s going to make hardcore matter again. People don’t want to see Jay Omega holding that belt, they want that belt right back where it belongs, and that’s around my waist.
They don’t want to watch Jay Omega prance around the ring like it’s balet. They want to watch Michael X splitting Jay Omega’s head open with a kendo stick. They don’t want to see the Space Cowboy talking down to them like he’s better than them..
They want to see real hardcore, Hank, They want to see me. They want me to talk down to them like I’m better than them because I am better than them. They worship the ground that I walk on and would gladly kiss my boots, Hank. They might be idiots, but they’re not completely dumb. They know that Ol’ X is the face of Hardcore. They know what I do when I step into that ring for a hardcore match. They’ve seen it all, they’ve seen everything that I’m capable of..
Michael pauses,
Xx” Well, maybe not everything, but they have an idea of what I’m capable of. They know what’s coming to Jay Omega and deep down I know that James feels it, too. Deep down he knows that he has already lost this contest but he has to play his part. He has to go in there and pray that the King of eXtreme fumbles the ball, and that he can recover it. He has to pray that he can pull a rabbit out of his hat, Hank.[/font]
Hank is following every word that comes out of Michael’s mouth, he is almost mesmerized by Michael’s arrogance.
Michael X: But he will pull a rabbit out of his hat, this I’m sure. The only problem is that rabbit is going to be dead. I already snapped its neck and placed it back where he had it hiding. He can smell the decaying stench, but he doesn’t know where it’s coming from. He doesn’t know that it’s the scent of his future.
Michael laughs, Hank Brown has a look of disgust on his face but he continues to press Michael X.
Hank Brown: You seem fairly confident heading into ‘Til Death Do Us Part, is there anything that you’re doing to prepare for this match that’s different from previous matches?
Michael’s grin is almost sickening.
Michael X: Confident? Why wouldn’t I be? I mean I did just beat the champion at his own game. I did just show the world that I am better than the current champion. I did just show the world that hardcore is my game. I did just brutally take out Morbid Wolf a few days ago in yet another hardcore match
And that’s what’s going to happen at ‘Til Death, I will completely and utterly destroy Jay Omega in front of the entire WCF Galaxy. There will be no question about who is the better wrestler, there will be no questions about who is more extreme, there will be no questions about who deserves it more. The only question we’re going to hear is, can Jay Omega ever return from his injuries? Will Jay Omega ever walk again? Is Jay Omega dead?
I’m not doing anything different for this match, Hank. I don’t need to do anything different. Why would I mess with what I do when what I do works so well? I don’t need to work any harder because I already work the hardest. I don’t need to work on any parts of my game because I am the greatest competitor out there, Hank. Nothing needs to be fixed because nothing is broken.
Hank Brown: Yes, but, Jay Omega is a very successful wrestler, too. Surely, you can’t be taking him lightly? He has pinned you before in your career, he knows what it takes to defeat you. Is that anywhere in the back of your mind? Is there any part of Michael X that thinks Jay Omega can pull it off again and walk out of New Orleans holding the Hardcore Championship?
Michael’s blood begins to boil, but he holds his composure. He looks at Hank Brown with hate in his eyes, lets out a small breath and smiles.
Michael X: You know, Jay Omega has had a nice career. He is highly regarded as one of the top stars of this game. He is highly regarded for his work inside that ring and there are many that would fear having a match with him. I’m not one of those people. I welcome this match because this is a match that I know I can win. This is a match that falls right into my wheelhouse, Hank, and I’m swinging for the fences. I’m not thinking about losing to Jay Omega because that’s just simply not an option. That’s something that we’re not going to see any time soon.
He pinned me once. He had the help of two other people, Hank. This is a one on one match and I promise you, he’s not getting out of this alive. He’s not getting out of that ring on his own two feet, or under his own power, Hank. He’s not going to have a chance to wave to the fans, or showboat on his way to the back. He’s not going to have a chance to make any excuses for losing this match because he’s going to be in a bad place. He’s going to be in the hospital for a long, long time. This isn’t a match for everyone, Hank. This is match that I’m looking for retribution in. This is a match for me to show the world why I deserve to be the Hardcore Champion, why I never should have lost the belt in the first place.
Nobody beat me for that belt, it was taken away because the WCF was afraid that I would have too much power.
Hank cuts Michael off,
Hank Brown: Those are the rules of the match, though, Michael. You know that coming in, you knew that if you had lasted as long a you did, that you would walk away with a different championship.
Michael rolled his eyes,
Michael X: That’s not the point, Hank. The point is that I had everything wanted, and I should of had more. I should have been allowed to carry every championship that night because I was the best wrestler in that match. I was the best wrestler in this company, and you know what?
I still am.
There isn’t a single person in this company that can hold a candle to me. There isn’t one person that can go toe to toe with me in that ring. There isn’t a single person in this company that can be put on my level and everyone knows it.
Week after week, name after name, I’ll step up to that plate and I’ll do what has to be done because I’m just that good. I’m miles ahead of everyone and it show,s, Hank, it really does.
Now, don’t come at me about rules again, Hank. I don’t need you to tell me how this works, I’m aware, and this match with Omega, we’re playing by my favorite set of rules.. Anything goes.
That means I can do whatever I want to do to James, and there isn’t anything he can do about it. There isn’t any way for him to stop the onslaught that’s coming his way and I find that to be beautiful. It brings a smile to my face, Hank. The thought of Omega covered in his own blood from head to toe, the thought of him crawling around that ring, trying to escape from Ol’ X.
Michael’s smile begins to grow.
Michael X: Ain’t it beautiful, Hank?
Hank, trying to stay calm is quite disturbed by Michael X. His views are disturbing. The way he looks into the camera is disturbing. The way he talks about the way he’s going to hurt people is disturbing. He just found Michael X to be as disturbing as you could be.
Hank Brown: I hope you two put on a great match that keeps the entire WCF Galaxy on the edge of their seats, and entertained.
Michael smirks. He realizes that Hank Brown is feeding him a company line, but that’s fine, that’s his job. There is no reason for Michael X to slap him across the face, though he does contemplate it for a few moments. But, why slap around a bitch right here when Michael can slap one around in the ring this Sunday? And get rewarded for it, this would result in a hefty fine and Michael X was tired of paying fines for slapping the shit out of Hank Brown. That was something that he didn’t want Hank to know, though. He liked to keep Hank Brown on his toes, and Hank had been on them this entire interview trying to skirt around topics that he knew would set Michael off and trying to avoid slight jabs that Michael may feel are being thrown his way. It was basically an interview conducted on eggshells.
Michael X: Oh, trust me, Hank. They’ll be on the edge of their seats alright. Some will be hiding their eyes away from the violence, but I guarantee a crowd on the edge of their seats. I guarantee a crowd that will leave that arena seeing a top quality match that steals the show. I guarantee that Michael X is walking out of there with the Hardcore Championship. I guarantee this will be the Match of the Night, because every match that I have is the match of the fucking night, Hank. Everytime I step into that ring it’s must see tv. Everytime my name is uttered by the ring announcer, that crowd shuts up and they pay attention because they don’t want to miss the highlights. They don’t want to miss the best part of the night and I guarantee that this match will be full of highlight reel moments.
Hank Brown: I wouldn’t miss this match for anything and I’m sure our WCF faithful won’t miss it either. It’s one of the top matches on the card and it’s being talked about all over social media. The King of Extreme vs The King of Pain, who will prevail? Well, there’s only one way to find that out for sure, and that’s to tune into pay per view this weekend. If your provider does not carry WCF PPV we urge you to get on the phone and make a call, demand they they carry the WCF and if not, there are plenty of other providers out there that do.
While Hank was trying to sell the company’s pay per view, Ol’ X was getting ready to walk away. He looked down at his watch, he had been in the studio for around 2 hours now for this short interview and it had felt even longer. He felt as though he was sitting here all day and having to hear Hank Brown for the past few minutes felt like a punishment, but it was almost over with and he could get back to focusing on Jay Omega and ‘Til Death Do Us Part. He could get back to focusing on how he was going to take his Hardcore Championship back. He could get back to trying to come up with new ways to bring PAIN to the KING OF PAIN. This was a match that would see two kings enter but only one King was allowed to walk out. Only ONE King would be able to look anyone else in the eyes after this and call themselves a king. Who would that be? Michael X knew he would win. He knew he would regain his Hardcore Championship and carry that belt as long as he wanted. He knew what he was capable of. But most importantly, he knew that he was the KING.
Jay Omega would fall before him and Michael X would remove his crown because he did not deserve it. He would remove anything from him that would signify royalty. He would strip him of any title that he has given himself. He would also remove his head because this was a match ‘til Death and Michael X played for keeps.
