Three things I liked:
1. Loved, loved, loved how all-in Abraxas is concerning the Infinity Championship. Researching Cairo and trying to detail what specifically about him made him one of The Six and then treating the Cairo Stone like it was an extension of that was beautiful, especially how you threw it right back in Omen’s face to justify pointedly why he didn’t deserve to keep it. Bravo. And stuff.
2. You promoted the hell outta this match. By giving both heads of the coin that Omen is capable of being unstoppable but has underachieved recently, it painted a strong “what’s gonna happen?” that makes me the fan want to tune in.
3. I like that you briefly discussed the other stoners. Not enough to look like you’re overlooking Omen, but enough to make sure the other 5 are on notice.
Three things I didn’t like:
1. The trash talk, while quality, felt looooooooong. When I saw that your word count was spot on, I realized that it was more of an imbalance between promo and character development. You needed that when you had 8 opponents, but against just 1, I think you need to dig in a little more to the CD. Easiest way in my opinion would be to introduce a minor character or two (workout buddy, brother-in-law, talent manager, Hell, start up a conversation with the barista at Starbucks).
2. I felt you were a little heavy-handed with the “Omen vs Omen of Reality” comparison. It’s certainly a coincidence worth noting, but it started to cross into sounding like all those times people said you were a bad wrestler because Abraxas is “a bad name”.
3. I’d like you to tell us a little more about the wife. She seems to be very worried constantly and opposed to most if not all of the ways AM is trying to promote himself. If there was a reason (some traumatic accident or experience in the past or her dad worked a physical job and died young or whatever) I think it would do better.
Bottom Line: I hope you could see that I had to really struggle to find 3 things I didn’t like. I thought this was a great RP and if this were real, I think a lot of forum commenters would be talking you up as “the guy to be the first Infinity champion”. You’ve done everything you can do to paint the story of a superstar being made by the pseudo-tournament of gathering stones, and if you keep this up, I don’t think you’ll be much of an underdog when you cash in the World title opportunity.
