Your Name:
Joe
Wrestler's name:
John Cross
Gimmick:
In 1998, John wanted nothing more than to be a pro wrestler like his heroes on television. John was ten, and that year, his mother became ill. She began hallucinating and became foul mouthed and restless. She became evil and bed ridden.
John's father sought medical help, but no one seemed to be able to identify the problem. Instead of sending her away, Dan Cross thought it best to keep his wife home with John and his sister, Roslyn.
One night, Dan and John were awakened by screams, only to find Cynthia Cross mounted over her daughter with a knife, drinking the blood from her open neck, eyes black as pitch and her vein popping from her neck.
Dan tried to overtake Cynthia, but she was too strong. John called 911. After a struggle, the police came and took Cynthia's life in front of the two men.
Dan and his were stunned by this turn of events. They would meet a man named Waylon Cooper who seemed to have answers, and they lied in a seedy underworld ruled by demonology and the belief that God and Satan had left their thrones and moved on, the fate of man sealed in darkness; the inmates left to run the asylum as apocalypse drew closer every day.
John would spend five years traveling with his father and Waylon, hunting demons on the road, assuming fake identities and living out of a van and motels as they went. At 16, John had grown weary of his father and left. Dan and Waylon also parted ways, as their relationship had become strained.
With nothing but traveling and fighting in his background, and with little formal education, John had to make a path for himself. He realized he was more cut out than ever to follow his childhood dream and did just that, hitting the road and finding his way into the wrestling business, a tortured soul joining the circus, so to speak.
One night, after very little correspondence with his father in late 2017, John received a call from Waylon. Dan was in trouble and they needed to help. John would meet Waylon somewhat reluctantly, but he didn't want his father to die, so he knew he had to act.
After an old nemesis, Fabian, a demon they had encountered years ago, revealed he had Dan stashed in a cabin outside of Sioux Falls, John and Waylon went for a showdown. John would end up dying, with Waylon being severely injured, but Dan would manage to trap the demon and exorcise him.
Dan would confront a reaper as he tried to take his son, and asked to trade his life for John's. Waylon would awake to see this event, as Dan pleaded, saying his son had dreams and a future, and all Dan has done is kill and hunt and that his life is meaningless. The Reaper explained that Dan could go to the underworld and face those he had vanquished for eternity.
John was given back his life, but he now straddles a line of motivation and regret. Motivation to fulfil his father's wishes, who had sacrificed himself to an eternity in Hell to spare his son; and regret for not being strong enough to save him.
In WCF, John has heard that things can happen, major events, with men who claim who claim have powers of God's and can do miraculous, other worldly things. He is ready to fight these men, and use his years of training, and maybe one day find the answers he seeks: answers for resurrection and the eventual salvation of his father's soul.
Height/weight:

Picbase is Adam Page. Black trunks, kneepads, boots and wrist tape. He has a large protection circle tattooed to his back that prevents him from being possessed by demons.
Entrance and music:
The lights dim a bit and you can hear the clapping start as "God's Gonna Cut You Down" by Johnny Cash begins to play over the speakers. John Cross emerges from the back, slowly walking with head down wearing a hooded black leather jacket. Cross makes his way slowly down, not looking at anyone as he makes his way to the ring, just making his way down to the ring, focusing on his steps and his thoughts. Focusing on the road that lead him here. John makes his way into the ring and steps up onto the middle turnbuckle. The lights come up and John finally lifts his head, pulling back the hood, and he looks out in the crowd stoically. He gives a little nod and almost a smirk before lowering himself back to the mat and removing his jacket, preparing for a fight.
Style: Brawler and Technical, mostly, with a few higher risk moves in his arsenal. He's not afraid to sacrifice his body to get the job done.
