And there is it. Over. Finally... fucking... over. I can rest easy again, knowing that everything with him is over. I can move forward and forget about it all. I kept my word. I went into the back, took a shower, got stitched up and took a flight back to Boston before going into bed at seven in the morning. I only got a few hours of sleep but I couldn't celebrate this.
Why didn't I want to celebrate?
It's for one reason. I didn't want to do that, I had to do that. I needed to move forward.
I can move forward into a pretty strange but important match against the former owner of the World Championship Federation, Seth Lerch. While I don't know much about Gravedigger and I don't care to unless he crosses my path in the wrong manner, this is something I've been waiting for.
Since I lost a certain title in April of 2006, I've found myself wanting it back a little more each day. This match against Seth Lerch is a positive step towards this goal once again. The last time I had a chance to reach that spot, I failed against Corey Black.
I found myself with my shoulders on the mat the last time I was a step away from a World Title match here in the promotion that gave me my start. However, going from Corey Black to Seth Lerch is quite huge step. While Lerch is a good in ring competitor himself, he's show cased that fact in the past, he isn't a Corey Black.
While I hate wrestling Corey for the simple fact that he wrestles like a monkey with ADD, Seth is more content to see how things roll instead of forcing them most of the time. Then again, Lerch is used to more of a hardcore environment to compensate for his lack of basic wrestling knowledge. Not trying to rag on the guy but let's face the facts, Seth isn't the greatest when it comes into the in ring portion of this business.
Since he's owned by Gravedigger now, I imagine he'll be in all sorts of insane matches where the odds are stacked against him. Almost a bit of karma coming back to him for all the times Seth would stack the odds against someone else. I remember one of the shows before the 2007 edition of One where he put me against like seven guys in a handicap match.
Either way, I don't see myself on the losing end of this match. That's all I got.
