We fade back in to The Myth, with Corey Black standing off to one side of the octagon. Walking in is his opponent ... a familiar face.
DJ: And entering the octagon at this point, from Thailand ... JAA PANOM!
Corey's demeanor turns from excited to, well, not excited. Jaa is a Muy Thai kickboxer that he brought in for the ill fated MCE Division. Jaa walks into the octagon wearing plain black pants and white wrapping around his ankles.
DJ: Let's get it ooooon!
The crowd roars in anticipation. The DJ leaves the octagon and the ref signals for the start. Corey and Jaa walk to the center, shake hands, and Jaa throws a quick kick to Corey's ribcage. Corey blocks it and smiles. Jaa does the same, except he throws a left footed kick at Corey's shin, which connects. Corey almost goes down, and Jaa is on it. Flying in with an elbow to the skull and more kicks to Corey's legs. Corey manages to push Panom away, but the onslaught is beckoning. Corey is still defending himself, just getting kicked into next week. Jaa throws a wild kick, getting cocky, and Corey catches it, stepping over and taking Jaa down in a leglock!
Corey wrenches on the leg, but it's not enough. Jaa kicks his way out and scoots away. Corey lunges at Jaa on the ground and ends up on top of him, wailing away with punches. Jaa protects himself well. Soon enough, the round bell rings. The ref forces Corey off Jaa, and then both men to opposite corners. The woman runs over to Corey's corner and speaks to him through the cage.
Woman: Are you fucking insane?
Corey Black: No, whoever found Jaa is fucking insane. Talk about left field. I expected a big black dude in overalls.
Woman: Lawnmower Jones?
Corey Black: No, Shannan Lerch.
The woman just looks at CB. The bell rings once again, and the fight is back on. Jaa and Corey approach each other, this time in guarded stances. Corey tries a takedown, but Jaa has it well blocked, laying out and pinning Corey face down on the mat. Jaa starts to knee Corey in the top of the skull. Over and over. Corey manages to roll free, and eats a big kick to the leg. Then another to the ribs. The second to the ribs is blocked, and Corey catches Jaa's leg once more. Corey tries to roll through with it, but Jaa rolls too. Corey cartwheels and keeps hold of Jaa's leg, ending up in the same position! Corey pulls Jaa in, locks him up, and drops him flush on his skull with a Fisherman Brainbuster in the middle of the octagon! The crowd goes insane! The ref checks, and Jaa is out. The house DJ runs into the octagon and raises Corey's hand.
DJ: And your winner, via knockout ... COREY ... BLACK!
The Myth explodes. The crowd, anyway. Metallica's "Creeping Death" is played over the PA as Corey checks on Jaa. He's back and alright. Corey walks out of the cage and to the woman, who hands him his hoodie.
Corey Black: Ugh. That might have been a bad idea.
Woman: YOU THINK?!
Corey Black: Nah, it was fun.
Woman: Well get your mind back on track. You've got a big match.
Corey puts on his hoodie and nods. He takes the woman over to a staircase, and up into a VIP room where a man in a business suit hands over a wad of cash. Corey thumbs through it and shakes the man's hand. The scene fades out with this picture.
Fading back in, Corey Black is standing in front of a WCF banner. No gimmicks about him. Hoodie and jeans.
Corey Black: So this is almost it. Gravedigger coming back into the picture and demanding he be added into the finals of a tournament he didn't even participate in. I'd expect that from Logan, not GD. It's fine though, as soon as I'm passed Reckless Brad, I can focus on Gravedigger and Torture or Evans. That'll be a doozy.
Brad though. We're like one soul with two bodies. He lost his mask long ago, but kept his moniker of Reckless Jack. He soon realized it was useless, like I did, and decided to drop it all.
In the end, I think it's best we meet now, when it means something. Usually we're put together because the promoter knows we'll draw. Now though. Now we fight for something. I'm looking to sweep the WCF World Title tournament scene. I took the Classic down and regained the WCF Title for a fourth time, tying Logan. Talk about monumental. Every time I get my hands on that belt, it slips away from me. Not this time though. This is the last time someone is going to just walk up and take it from me. Seth has done it twice now. No more.
In a world filled with doubt and change, one thing is certain to remain the same. Creeping Death will regain his WCF World Title. New name, new WCF, new found power.
Corey walks off, leaving the last shot to be the WCF logo.
