Hey guys. I want to gauge how the WCF universe is feeling about this match. It is up to you to decide the tone of this matchup.

Joey Flash is the biggest asshole of all assholes but at least he never pretends to be something he is not. A former world champion, one of the main players of Pantheon (aka the real team WCF) who seemingly have a single goal of making WCF great again. Thomas Bates, self proclaimed locker room leader... a title many feel he does not deserve. Who most recently sent a group of guys into their doom whilst he sat comfortably in his locker room. Seems self obsessed, controlling, with views many many people disagree with. If Thomas Bates was a Warcraft character he'd be Arthas. |

My basis for voting "Cheer Flash/Boo Bates" is even though Flash - the character - is an unmitigated cunt, he at least says what he means. He's true to himself, in a sense, and his honesty speaks to me. He is the kind of guy I would cheer for IRL.
Bates seems almost too "say your prayers, take your vitamins" for me. He wants you to drink the kool aid, but won't imbibe himself. He's the kind of dude that shows up to a party with a six pack of Coors, drinks 2, and takes the rest home. Very political, seedy underbelly. Scary stuff, fam. Scary stuff indeed.

Anywhere on the coastal US- Flash
Middle America and south- Bates
Pretty much blue or red states.

IC: Singh would vote pro-Flash/Pantheon all day. He's on board with the clearing out of the lesser talented, certainly believing himself not among them.
OOC: I feel like most crowds would likely be split and Gem is probably pretty on the money re: the effect of the location also. But Pantheon's through-line of being here to run roughshod over the current WCF incarnation and rebuild it to be better/stronger is pretty standard villainy; the talk is largely of cleansing lesser people ala them whacky Nazis. I mean, the "x is Hitler!" thing is way overused and annoying but the Pantheon hashtag literally includes the word genocide. Even if Joey doesn't push all that narrative himself--and isn't one of the most frequent 'bully-style' internet posters which is probably the other big Pantheon heel characteristic--he (along w/corey) is basically the face of the faction.

OOC (IC wise, Bates stays off social media for the most part): Joey Flash is without question a heel. He may be a likable heel, especially as this generation today tends to like the bad guy more often than not. He is the representation of the new generation, the Millennials. Along with Pantheon/BeachKrew, and other similar types, they represent everything new. I completely see the younger crowds cheering and fawning over him.
Bates is without question a Face. He is a man that has a Code of honour, and follows it the best he can. He's human, so he slips at times, but he will still push forward and do his best to abide by it. He's an old soul. His ideals are not of this generation, they are older. Whereas Joey Flash is the representation of Millennials, Thomas Bates is the representation of a man born in the wrong century. I see the younger crowds booing him, but the older crowd cheering him.
This however, is about location as well as age. In the South, he's going to be cheered. As Gemini said, any "Red" State will instantly cheer for him. "Blue" States will hate him with a passion. "Liberals" will hate him, "Conservatives" will love him. "Young" will hate him, "Old" will love him. Then you get the people that will love the fact that he sticks to his beliefs, even though it does not benefit him. These people may not like what he represents, but they do respect him.
So, if you're a red meat eating, hard drinking, bike riding, horse riding, American muscle car driving, smoke in your house because that's your damn house, then you're going to like Thomas Uriel Bates. Otherwise, he scares you.
