Anything I want?
I'm very conflicted about something. I've discovered a new indy female musician by the name of Marissa Nadler. I will now state the fact that she has the most beautiful voice of any woman alive. Ofcourse, she doesn't use auto tune, so if anyone wants to compare her to someone like Katy Perry that's like comparing John Henry to the steam hammer. She sings a siren's serenade, and seeing her live is now firmly on my bucket list, just like Mirah. I was quite happy to see she will indeed be performing a show at RoselandPDX in Portland on October 16th. What I wasn't expecting was, she is but the opening act for none other than, of bands, Ghost. You know Ghost (maybe not), the overly tongue in cheek "satanic" shoot-up-the-school edgelords. I've never heard a Ghost song, but I have this avsolutely overpowering feeling that this makes very little sense. If you don't know either of these two at all, basically this is like that Scottish fat old woman opening for Disturbed. So the tickets are priced at Ghost level of course, and I'll be shelling out around forty bucks to listen to an hour of opera-esque singing then most likely walking out on the headliner. No matter how hard I try, I often end up looking like a hipster and I hate that.

Pretty cool. i'll give them a shot (they are, at least, from glorious SCANDINAVIA) but they probably won't be to my taste. I love metal and all, Pantera, Metallica, The Sword, Iron Maiden, but it depends what branch of metal they are. If they are like Slipknot I might be able to stomach them, but jesus fuck, if they are like Mushroomhead, then I couldn't do it. It's just so weird to me to see this indescribably talented, smooth, folky singer touring with these guys. I know she wants her name out there but you've got to think about target audience, lol.

I'm starting to wonder if a sub-board dedicated to music discussion would be a welcome addition?
