Under Construction
Gemini: 20 years ago I didn’t think I’d be here. I was not a chosen one yet. You see, you aren’t born chosen, you BECOME chosen, don’t you understand that?
Gemini Battle sat in a normal looking bedroom with a four poster bed, flourescent light and a poster of a long empty road on the wall with an inspirational quote on it reading:
No road is too long for he who advances slowly and does not hurry. And no attainment is beyond the reach of one who equips himself with PATIENCE to achieve it- Jean de La Bruyere
He spoke to a Japanese man wearing a business suit looking terrified as he is tall. The 6 foot 3 slender man didn’t seem to know why he was here, and Gemini wanted to make sure that he understood the brevity of the situation he found himself in. He spoke fondly and directly about their past.
Gemini: I remember the day I was chosen. I had no idea. Gula had been passed down for generations through one lineage; the Herzog Clan was always the embodiment of Gula. But when Taft Herzog passed and the next one was chosen I happened to be there. And in Jow Jap… that fight to the death… I was given the opportunity.
I thought I was dead. I didn’t think I stood a chance as Yink Herzog, the eldest heir to the Herzog Clan, was slated to be not only the next in line to become the embodiment of Herzog, but many believed him to be the second coming of this God. He stood before me looking as imposing and as intimidating as ever and I knew I had to step up or step into the afterlife with Taft.
Gemini brushed his hair off his eyes. The Japanese man feigned not knowing English at first abduction, but Gemini knew that English was the second language in business in Japan and thus he was full of shit. The man clearly understood every word that he was saying.
Gemini: Were you there?
I was a legit question and the man looked nervously at Gemini, but something in his eye told him the answer.
Gemini: Of course you were. You were there because all of the Chosen Ones were there and you were already chosen, weren’t you? I can’t be totally sure, I was a rambunctious adolescent at the time. But I did know that I was not ready to die. I stood into the face of the beast and I came out not only alive but with his head in my hand as I felt the power surge through me.
It was like getting struck by lightning. My fingers and toes curled, my heart beat a thousand times per minute before stopping for what felt like an eternity. And when it started back up again it beat with ferocity and a hunger that could not be satiated. I was willed with the spirit of Gula and all that bullshit that the elders had spouted for all that time came to fruition. It wasn’t just a hoax to keep us all walking the line they desired, it was all true. I was more powerful and hungrier than nearly everyone else on Capua.
But you know that feeling don’t you. You understand the power and the strength that came with becoming chosen. You understand the responsibility that ensues when you are given such great power. You know that hiding your true identity will not stop it from bursting forth when you least expect it?
He looked at the prisoner. Since his seizure he was claiming ignorance of the Capuans and of his true heritage. It was insulting and cowardly. He had known that Gemini had been hunting him and is trying so fool heartedly to save his own ass by passing off as a civilian. But the recon was unquestionable, but even more importantly he and Invidia could sense it in the fiber of his very being. There was no hiding your true self to another Capuan.
Yet, he still wasn’t giving the information he needed. Gemini tried fear tactics upon arrival, and now has tried nostalgia. There was one more tactic before he had to take drastic measures. He was going to force it out of him. He knew he was chosen but was unsure of which one so he had to take multiple stabs at this one.
Gemini: You know this week I’ve got a very interesting task ahead of me. You see I’ve got to face the man who on the current roster has won more titles than anyone aside Corey Black. This man has defeated nearly everyone who crossed his path including tossing the Great Bobby Cairo down a fucking volcano.
The sound of such brutality brought a smile across the Japanese Man’s face. Could it be true? Ira?
Gemini: But he’s also been in some other brutal matches in the WCF as well. You see, Zombie McMorris and I competed in a Sword on a pole match in which I eviscerated him. At the end of the match his insides were on the mat but you know what about that mother fucker. He did not quit. He never gave up. He truly is one of the strongest and one of the most viable contenders in the WCF.
He’s been through it all. He’s been through bloodshed; he epitomized Horror Kore wrestling; he literally would kill if it meant he got to get one step closer to glory, one step closer to making history as he desires so much.
No change from the Japanese man. If only it could have been that easy. His Wrath was contained, but perhaps his pride could take over.
Gemini: But one thing he has never done is beat me. He has never bested Gemini Battle. So he can spout all the bullshit he wants about how great he is and how great his record is. He can tell anyone who will listen about how glorious his record is and how much everyone should praise him for his past accomplishments, but this is the WCF. This is a world of what have you done for me lately.
Lately he has lost the Hardcore title. Lately he has watched as his partner in Hot American Dankness Mikey Extreme gets bested by Henry Spearman time and time again and he does nothing to help. In fact, lately he hasn’t done a goddamned thing inside that wrestling wring that he claims is his home.
Here’s the thing about this TV Title that I hold so dearly. It needs to be defended each and every week. It’s not a title for a part-time jobber, it’s the title for a man who wants to be a champion. It’s the title for the man who goes out to the squared circle each and every week and not only puts out the fight of his life, but will fight for his life each and every time.
And I’m allowed to call ZMac a jobber, and I’m not no-selling his accomplishments because he has a plethora of them. And I know that he would like nothing more than to put a victory over Gemini Battle in his list of accomplishments.
He would like nothing more than to say that he defeated the man who eliminated more men than anyone in the history of the War match. He would love to say that he has a win over the man who headlined One in 2015. Nothing would satisfy him more than saying that he holds a victory over the man who was on the inaugural Trio’s Championship team.
Nothing would make ZMac more proud than to say that he beat Gemini Battle.
The Japanese man rubbed at his brow. His pride was not getting the best of him, but he kind of knew that already. Gemini was feeling his own hubris more than the offending party in front of him, but this left only one option that could not fail.
Gemini: ZMac wants so badly to defeat the former WCF World Champion, but what he doesn’t realize that this match that I’m competing against him this week in isn’t just about the TV Title. Of course, it’s the main cog in my plan, but there’s so much more I desire than just that. This Title is my ticket towards War. It puts me on a one-way track towards the King of All Media Match.
This week isn’t just about the fact that I will defend the title with honor, and dignity, but it is the catalyst to everything else I’ve been working for this year. This year has been the year of Gemini Battle. It started off with a main event at Fifteen fighting for the World Title. It moved on to two tag team title reigns and subsequently a World Title Reign by defeating the 7 best wrestlers that the WCF had to offer at the time in The Ultimate Showdown match.
But even with all of those accomplishments under my belt this isn’t all that I want. Because I want to go into War and do the unthinkable. I want to go into War and face off against Teddy Blaze and kick his ass for kicking mine 6 weeks ago. I want to go there and strip him of that internet Title, and retain my TV title and not only all of that, by doing so I will become the less than one percent of WCF Superstars that have ever won the Grand Slam.
After I do that I will step into the ring in the War match whenever I may enter and face off against forty plus wrestlers from WCF Yesterday, today and tomorrow and take out each and every one of them as I take one step closer towards immortality and Win that epic Battle Royal. And whether it’s Corey Black or Thomas Bates who walks out of War as Champion it will be ME who walks out of ONE as World Champion.
I want it. I need it. I need more of it. I cannot be satiated. The hunger…the Voracity… the GREED….
Japanese Man: I AM AVARITIA! EMBODIMENT OF GREED ON PLANET EARTH!
The Japanese man smiled as this wave of panic and awareness came over him and he breathed heavily while his chest nearly burst through his shirt. Gemini smiled as it finally worked and he had finally gathered as many of the chosen ones that he could to take him towards the next step of his master plan.
Gemini: You may embody greed on planet Earth, but I do so in the WCF. I’ve fought, I’ve toiled and struggled for so long and the time has finally come for me to put myself into the history books where I have been forgotten in the past. ZMac may think he has a shot at this title, and he does, but it’s slim. Because I’m not losing this title so easily; I’m not going to tread lightly into the ring with him. Just because I have his number thus does not mean that I’m going to take him lightly.
They say anything can happen at any time. That chaos is the norm, but this week things will go precisely as planned. I will retain my Television Title, and win the beat the clock challenge in the process and I will go onto War to become the Internet Champion, The Television Champion, the Number One Contender for the World Title and THE KING OF ALL MEDIA!
The room was bright and Gemini stood tall. Things were coming together but he still had work to do.
There was ALWAYS work to do.
