So the camper I was living in has burned to the ground while I was at work. Almost everything I owned was in it, save for my computer and some of my tools. Only thing I could salvage was my aircrew k-bar that was issued to me back in 2001. It no longer has a leather-bound handle anymore.

This is not changing my status here, but it is pretty damned depressing to lose almost everything over and over and over again in different ways.

Get a strongbox or another fireproof container for your very important documents and other things you cannot live without. Fortunately, I had most of my important documents with me in my vehicle, but everything else? Poof...
