Im sure this thread has probably been done before, but I have to ask. How old is everyone here? Im 33. I'll be one year closer to 40 next month.....yay....
I ask because I started RPing around 2002, got with J/Cash around 2004 and retired in 2008. So between 02-08 it seemed everyone was about my age. I was about 19-20yo when I started RPing and it seemed most were about that age, with the oldest guys being in their mid/late 20's.
Fast forward to 2016 when we came back, and it seemed like the interest in E-feds went away. When we were looking for a place to go, this was about the only fed that looked like it was thriving and still alive....Like the good old days of 2002-2008. lol I remember back then people got rejected and turned away from feds. Rosters were big and feds could afford to be picky about who they wanted on the rosters.
So i was just curious how old everyone is here, and did any of you see a point where the E-fed hobby started to change? Or when people started losing interest? I know a lot of kids dont want to sit and type - because they dont have the attention span to do that anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started in...2003? Me and Cliff of Doom did one in like 98-99 in one of those email leagues but it didn't last. I think we got trolled by a chick pretending to be a dude, and the internet was pretty new so we got creeped out (I may be making that up, Cliff?)
Then I started substitute teaching and had a lot of free time on my hands so I started efedding for real in like 2003. I was terrible, couldn't win a match. I was in a fed that had a feeder fed within it, very cool. In retrospect, the talent level wasn't anything like it is now, but my level of writing was pretty much shit until I got here, and I won the grand slam in the AWA (last fed I was in)
It's still pretty much shit, but much better shit... like polished shit.
I was into it pretty much the whole time till now on and off. I adopted a fed as the owner left and ran it for like a year. That was fucking fun, except for the fact that he had set up a world title tournament and set up these terrible matches, and the brackets were all fucked. And I won with my character (I didn't vote, I had 3 guys voting on RPS) so I felt shitty about that. But it all happened so fast. The guy who should have come in second was my first round opponent and since I was the only one writing the matches I squashed him before he even rped and felt terrible about that too.
Anyway, I eventually merged with another fed and then things went downhill and I got pushed out. I still think about bringing back that character... it was Adam Knight "The Dark Knight" (see a theme with my characters?) He was the ultimate face, was part of an Australian Wrestling family like the Harts in Canada. He was so cool I loved writing him. I actually think I was undefeated as him. But after I got strong-armed out of the other fed I was in I decided to hang up his boots.
I left for a while and came back with a character named Twister which was the original incarnation of Gemini Battle... I in fact use the same general back story for both characters. Canonly their the same person. He's evolved into this monster that I can't control now as the stories are going wildly out of control but overall the same dude.
I think it was about 2005 that interest seemed to fade. I used to have to apply for feds before, and would try really hard on the applications. After that there was no being 'accepted' it was just like 'thanks for joining, when can you rp? Last week?'

42 in a couple of months. Started to efed in around 95 or 96. Quit in late 97 because I was graduating college, and I was WHC by that time. Internet was very limited, and e-mail was ran off a telnet/worperfect monochrome program. So, everything 'internet' had to be initiated by the DOS $ prompt-IP address of main server and 4 digit port # via telnet.

Oh shit sorry that was my old dating profile not roleplaying profile... I am 35 started in 98 i think... in 2008 left efeding as a wrestler and started a fed... then retired from it all to come back in 2016 and now I feel I am improving constantly.

All these old cats and I'm only gonna be hitting 22 next month.
I've always been a fan of wrestling and roleplaying, but could never find that combo that worked for me. For those who don't know, I have depression, attempted suicide four times, and am trying to rebound from the worst 12 month stretch in my life. I have never done any e-fedding prior to this year. In fact, I was bored one day looking for a wrestling RP type game, and I came across the WCF. This was in January. I am a true rookie lol.

a rookie with some great writing chops. I've been writing as The Plague for most of my efed path, before that I had Chamber the biker ex con who fought for the prison guards betting pleasure, then there was Nova-Kaine the extreme cruiserweight, I had RattleSnake who was my first rping character he was the hardcore icon, and I also had a character named Bane... Ask me how many characters I have floating in my head... You should see my WWE games and all my CAWs lol

36 year old father of two. Stopped roleplaYing 15 years ago after being in various feds for 4 years. Came to WCF looking for a writing outlet with a brand new character loosely based on me. @@@ was my attempt at a more serious side, but I enjoy writing for the bastard so much more!

I'm 43, been e-fedding since 1992 when I was 19. I was using WinDos and an 18.8 baud state of the art dial up modem which eventually got upgraded to a 56.6 US Robotics dial up modem before that computer took a nose dive. Freezer Burn was my first character and I lost the first 24 matches I had before going on to getting my formatting taken care of and claiming lots of wins. Then again, I stayed in storylines and midcards and it wasn't until 2002 that I decided to step up into world title status.
For a while, I was involved in as many as 6 feds at one time. Lots of feds died off, so I just grabbed another and kept going. In 2006, I was arrested and went to prison. At the time of my arrest, I held 3 world titles from RIVAL e-feds, being the first to hold all three consecutively. 8 years in prison, started getting my life in track, and when I went in search of e-feds it was like .. where the hell are they?
They were EVERYWHERE then they were like hidden treasures. I found a couple, but none matched up to WCF. I kicked back for a couple of months just watching from time to time before deciding to come back in, but with the mindset that this would only be for fun this time, and not the competitive mental adrenaline like I did before.
A friend of mine introduced me to e-fedding way back when, and we used to have the best feuds wherever we went and it didn't matter which wrestler he was using at the time. He died while I was in prison, staff infection, and I still don't know where he was buried.
Catching up on new technology has been both fun, and a migraine. Things sorta look the same, but nothing responds like the old days I knew. Before there were boards, there was mass e-mails mailing to people the WEBSITE you made for your rp. Next week, you wrote over your old webpage with your new HTML written roleplay and do it all over again the next week. LOTS has changed in my time since I first started and this damn chromebook I have now can't get a decent piece of graphics software if your left testicle depended on it.

Joined a few e-Feds in '98 but they didn't last.
Didn't join another fed until last year when Gemini introduced me to WCF.
Yes, Gemini and I were trolled a long time ago.
The scars are still there.

33.
Started in 1992, and yes everything has changed. I remember when most efeds barely had any rules, I remember efed wars, and I remember email feds.
The talent has changed too. Better writers here in WCF than I have ever seen before.
