Sorry for not doing justice to my World Title shot, an opportunity I was extremely grateful for.
My life is super unsettled at the moment and I am unable to find room for WCF. My wife's pregnant with our first child and I need to give her more of myself. I'm changing jobs and we were meant to be moving house last week but everything fell through last minute which has been stressful. My new job will be all consuming so commuting and trying to sell our house is really not ideal.
Ultimately, WCF was becoming more of a burden than a light relief. I've lost a lot of motivation for the Alpine character. I had a major angle of 'who is Percy Micro?' but wasn't able to find that person, after the original person left WCF. This left me a bit rudderless; trying to keep alive a story that wasn't properly formed and didn't have the desired heat anyway.
I didn't feel my work was really connecting with people either and this lack of heat felt more exposed higher up the card.
I expect to return when life settles but not as Alpine and I'll probably stick to the TV division as the 2000 word limit would help me to focus on quality.
Anyway, I'm really happy that you guys have picked WCF up from off its knees and turned it back into the thriving fed it deserves to be. Well done to the great new guys and the old guard who stuck around.
I want to thank Seth and Stuart Slane in particular. Both have been extremely supportive and encouraging. Slane, I loved working with you. When I wasn't the most popular here back in 2014, you were not shy about praising my work. Seth, you're a gentleman and you've always been good to me.
