Your Name: Jake B. (FKA Dagvald Riddik)
Wrestler's name: Miles MacArthur
Gimmick: Failed, self-destructive, depressed, drug-addicted indy rocker. He lived in Spokane throughout his early years and wanted desperately to be a rock star. He looked to grunge, rock and metal as escapes from his stereotypically shitty childhood. He was beat by his drunk dad, but his mom was so pathetically desperate to be loved that she let it happen because his dad loved her. By age 13 he stole a guitar from backstage at an indy performer’s show. He devoted all his time to learning to play from his friend Rod Dedrick, who’s parents were rich but didn’t care about him very much. Rod also wanted to be in a band and leave his home behind. At the age of 17 in junior year he dropped out of college with Rod and moved to Portland to start a band called “Due South,” named after their intention to “gig straight down the coast til we make it to LA, dude!” Unfortunately, after four years, a brief stint moving north to Seattle, and two failed relationships, Miles completely lost his ability to focus and Rod gave up on the plan. They both got part time jobs, but Miles became addicted to cocaine out of depression from failing his dream. He started seeing Rod less and less despite their close friendship, but Rod found out he was attending wrestling training classes. Rod was skeptical, but he didn’t want to let his friend down again and hoped a new hobby would help him with his depression and drug addiction.
Height/weight: 5’10’, 170 lbs, 23 years old
Hometown: Portland, OR
Alignment: Heel (sorry to add another heel :/ )
Appearance/attire: Picbase is Ben Gibbard. He has red trunks with MILES in black on the back and some bordering down the front. He wears work boots to kick hard, red elbow pads, and wrist tape he writes random lyrics on before each match.
Entrance and music: His entrance theme is a song he wrote himself called “Don’t Blame Me (I Do It Enough Already).” Rod plays the opening bass riff before Kyle Steele introduces him, and Miles steps on stage with his head bowed and guitar on hand with microphone attached to his neck. Then he jerks his head up, starts hitting the strings hard and singing the lyrics. The crowd always boos, but this just encourages him to get more into it. He starts down the ramp and Rod falls behind, until they get to the ring when the bass solo hits as Miles steps in. Miles then plays the heavy ending and sings the shouting vocals with Rod on the outside. When the song ends, Rod takes a seat at ringside and Miles hands him his equipment.
Style: Dirty cheating brawler. He isn’t a big buy but he hits deceptively hard and always uses the ring to his advantage. He punches smart, hitting soft spots and conserving energy. He has a knack for pushing himself to the limit and can ignore his body’s warning signs of pain and fatigue. He wants fame like nothing else (except maybe more cocaine), and he won’t allow himself to look like a loser even when he loses a match. Sometimes if he can, he’ll hit his opponent with his guitar. To matchwriters: Have him cheat a LOT. Like the Revival do. A LOT.
Favorite Moves: Timebomb kneckbreaker, lungblower, backbreaker, white noise,
Trademark move and description: Real Thing- The “rampaige”
Finisher and description: Final Note- Miles places the opponent on the top rope in a seated position with his legs on the outside. Then he climbs up and starts standing them up, and when he is satisfied they are high enough, he drops down from the top rope to the bottom rope and bounces off it with his fist up, landing a devastating uppercut right on his opponent’s chin.
“OMG Moment” or desperate finisher: Encore- Miles places the opponent in a tree of woe position on the outside of the ring on the ring post and ropes so their head is hanging just above the apron. He then backs up to the other end of the ring, charges, and lands a dropkick right in their face, sending them crashing to the apron, where he rolls them back in and pins them. I would prefer this move only be used in very VERY close matches, and at first only use it where I win that match so that this move means something if that makes sense. It should be a big freaking deal if someone kicks out of it.
Manager? If so, name and description: Rod Dedrick. Rod is Miles’ childhood friend and is staying with him to try to give him advice and save him from suicide. His pic base is Shaun Morgan.
