Tommy found an unusual package under the windshield wiper of his illegally acquired automobile. A manilla envelope with a bulge in it. Tommy tentatively took the envelope and used a finger to rip one end open. He emptied the contents into his hand and found a debit card, a set of keys, and a handwritten note.
He looked at the keys and card for a moment with uncertainty before sliding them into his pants pocket. Carefully he opened the letter and began reading the contents.
Tommy: Shit.
He pulled the key from his pocket and looked at it. It has the Pontiac logo on it, the OLD Pontiac logo. Tommy raised an eyebrow at this, knowing he didn’t have the time for this with a match against Slane, former World Champion. In order to get to Iowa and back in time for his Tag Title match at Slam, he would have to start driving now, and be lucky to get a single good night’s rest.
Tommy didn’t waste any time. He got behind the wheel of his stolen car, and started driving.

A 1956 Pontiac Chieftan.
When it came to Freezer Burn, you couldn’t always tell if he’s kidding around, serious, or insulting you. And the Pontiac Chieftain fit into all three categories. The beige and tan paint job looked pleasing, as did the matching interior. It started without issue, having an Edelbrock 350 crate engine under the hood. Drum brakes were replaced with better braking slotted disc brakes, and the stock AM radio was replaced with a modern radio with an MP3 player docking station.
Tommy sat in the seat of the chieftain and pulled two folders out of his backpack. He studied the written assessments and known moves for each Nathan Chambers and Stuart Slane. Using a pencil, he made a few marks, wrote down a few question marks at certain points, underlined important details and cross referenced between the two folders again and again. When he finished his study, the two folders went onto the passenger seat and the old Pontiac pulled out of the garage.
He had a long drive ahead of him, and that gave him an advantage. Driving allowed him to think through the information he took in and put it together with his own memories of how each man, Slane and Chambers, responded in the ring. Tommy docked his MP3 player to the radio, tuned in some Black Crowes, and let the miles slowly disappear.
Hiways and small towns eventually gave way to the eastbound lane of Interstate 80. He stopped at a choke and puke outside Chicago for a quick meal and refueling. Spent a few more minutes marking notes and studying the given information before getting back out onto thee four lane slab. He needed to hurry back to the Eastern Coastline, where he could get into the WCF video archives of previous wrestling matches where he could get a visual on the moves and look for ways to exploit them.
Make them know who you are.
These words from the letter came back to his mind. He repeated the phrase to himself several times and as he did, his jaw set like stone, his eyes narrowed dangerously. There’s an impact to be made. And either Slane or Chambers would feel that impact. And it would be so hard, so brutal, he may end up breaking the ring with only the limp body of Chambers or Slane to cushion the blow to the turnbuckles.
The ring very well may collapse from the deliverance Hawk would give.
Make them know who you are.

Hawk,
I taught you what you was willing to listen to, but some things needed to be experienced. What you lacked for success was hunger, so I made arrangements for exactly that to happen when you got hired on in WCF. All your money was paid to you, into an account I controlled until I felt you were ready for it. Seth paid you, but I withheld it from you until now. Notice, I worded it twice to make sure you understood fully who was to blame.
It’s my right as your manager and trainer. At this point, the amount in the debit card is 85,000 dollars. The full amount owed to you for these last few months employed at WCF. Furthermore, you will notice a set of keys. These are to a vehicle that has been placed into your name. A car you legally own. To find it, you need to go to my Iowa mansion and figure out which car the key fits.
You no longer need my managing expertise. Your career is yours to own. Make them know who you are.
