I enjoyed the movie a lot, no idea why the critics don't like it. And I agree Captain Boomerang was pretty awesome.

My guess would be that superhero films usually are sniffed at by film critics. There are exceptions to this, but from what I've gathered, reviews tend to not be stellar from their standpoint.

It focused on story and not silly comedy and movie cliche's. I highly recommend it.
