We open to The Plague’s office and the camera focuses on the book shelves that have old championships and trophies on them. The past accomplishment’s of the world traveler called The Plague Kevin Bishop shine bright for all who enter the room.
The camera cuts away from the office and then comes back on in another room in the warehouse, where The Plague is sitting in a black leather chair in his Johnny Cash-esque attire. He holds onto his US title draped over his shoulder and he runs his fingers along the name plate.
“Kevin Bishop… The United States champion… I have been on a rising path since I stepped foot in the WCF… My ability in the ring turned heads and once Seth decided to bring forth the US title back into rotation, it was MY name that was mentioned as a potential contender… What did I do with that opportunity? I won this title by WRESTLING my ass off and by showcasing my talents that I have compiled by wrestling around the world for the past 15 years… That’s what we do, right? We wrestle and aim to better ourselves and our opponents? Every man in The Ultimate Showdown is looking to out wrestle the other and we all bring our own strategies to the table… Bates thinks… He thinks, he thinks, he thinks… I get it Bates, you claim you have it all figured out and that whatever I bring to the match, you’ll simply just change your strategy to better suit yourself. You are a decorated champion in your career here, just as everyone else in the match. So continue to think, Bates, think like you have it all figured out, because even with the big man on his toes, it doesn’t mean you’re going to prevail… You may believe me claiming to chop you down is a bigger feat than what I’m capable of, but the way I see it, besides Slane, you’re the one with the biggest target on your back. You’re the one looking to dominate and prove that this is THEE MOUTAINS time… But with that target on your back, you’re going to see enemies become allies rather quickly with the chance of taking the most powerful man in the match out…”
The Plague continues to stroke his title.
“My legacy is going to continue on past The Ultimate Showdown and when you speak of the rest of the deserving men in this match, you won’t even hesitate to mention The Plague in that same breath. As I have said before, my past accomplishments mean shit here in WCF and that’s fine because I don’t mind rebuilding myself and proving myself when the time calls for it. What a better time to prove myself than The Ultimate Showdown? I’ve spoken of all of my opponents until I have been blue in the face and I think time for talk is through… We are mere hours away from competiting tonight for that Grand Prize and it’s about time to go all in… Cash in our titles and go for that brass ring… I speak of that brass ring and so many of my opponents have ran with it before, that’s why they look at me as the rookie of this match… I’ve already said I’ll play my role and from the looks of some of my opponents they’re already over looking me… I’ll play the rookie, but it seems they’ll gleefully play the fools for choosing that path… Feel free to over look me, but don’t be surprised when I’m the one dropping you with The Black Death for the three count…”
Bishop holds the title to the camera.
“Gentlemen… I’m not coming to The Ultimate Showdown looking to lose this without claiming something greater… If I fail at gaining that world title, then I will continue to build a run with this that’ll out shadow anything from its past… I respect the champions who held this before me, hell most of those past champions are you guys… But I’m coming to win, just as anybody else, but the thing is, as Bates pointed out… I have everything to lose and everything to gain… I WILL NOT COME TO LOSE… I fight my hardest with my back against the wall and with it all on the line… I’ll see you all tonight, be ready for a WAR…”
The camera fades out to black with The Plague looking at the US title.
The camera returns to the office just as the entire bookshelf bursts into flames, bringing all of The Plague’s accolades down in piles of ash along the floor. A hooded man with a plague doctor’s mask on walks into camera view and he points up to it. As the flames grow higher, he turns to show off his handy work and the camera fades out to black.
