Location: Next Level Martial Arts dojo in Reading, Pennsylvania
Date: Tuesday July 26th, 2016
Time: 11:45 am
The scene opens with Captain WCF standing in a row of young martial arts students at the Next Level Martial Arts dojo. All of the students, including the Captain, have big smiles on their faces with their brand new yellow belts tied around their waists. Master C is standing in the front of the room facing all of his pupils as he begins to speak.
Master C: “My students, today marks your first step towards achieving your ultimate goal of becoming a black belt here at Next Level. But don’t look at this as something to not be proud of. Earning your yellow belt took time, dedication, hard work and that shouldn’t be disregarded.”
Master C looks down the line of new yellow belts, meeting each of their gazes as he beams with pride.
Master C: “It has already been a pleasure to watch each one of you grow as individuals and I very much look forward to continue to monitor your success. Yellow belts, turn around and face your peers!”
The row of yellow belts turns around, mostly in unison, to face the rest of their fellow students.
Master C: “Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you our new yellow belts!”
Clapping and cheering from the other students and instructors follows as the yellow belts continue to smile and look around the room.
Master C: “That concludes training for the day, everyone. Have a safe day and make sure to practice your skills at home before the next session!”
Master C stares at Captain WCF for a moment.
Master C: “Captain, could you stay for a couple minutes so I can talk to you?”
Captain WCF nods enthusiastically.
Captain WCF: “Yes, Master C! That no problem!”
The Captain waves and says his goodbyes to a few of his friends before making his way over to the master. He bows to Master C before addressing him.
Captain WCF: “Yes, Master C, what is up?!”
Master C chuckles as he looks at the red costumed warrior with the yellow belt wrapped around him up and down.
Master C: “First off, congratulations Captain, you earned your yellow belt with some of the hardest work and determination I’ve ever seen put on display at this dojo.”
Captain WCF’s toothy smile shines through his mask as he bows to his master once again.
Captain WCF: “Thank you, Master C, you been such great teacher to the Captain. I have gotten super strong already since I come here to train!”
Master C nods in acknowledgement.
Master C: “Oh, I completely agree with you. You’ve already made some great strides since the first day I saw this wacky costumed man come in through the front door needing to learn how to defend himself. Don’t lose that passion, Captain, carry it through to each of the next belts here and you’ll be standing up here as the Master of your own dojo in no time.”
Captain WCF laughs; he can’t even picture himself as the master of his own dojo at this time in his life.
Captain WCF: “Yes, I try to be great like you one day, Master C. I never let you down, just like I never let down my fans in WCF!”
Master C rubs his chin.
Master C: “Ah yes, your wrestling career in WCF. I saw that you were a main event participant in your last match. Congratulations on that as well, that is no small feat. And it’s my understanding that you have a pay-per-view match coming up next?”
The Captain nods feverishly once again.
Captain WCF: “Yes, it Ultimate Showdown, live from Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey! I team with Honk Hogkiss, Poot Cornmirror and Dion Phaneuf to take on new team called ‘One Tolerance’!”
Master C smirks and gives the Captain an inquisitive look.
Master C: “You said your opponents are a brand new team…what about your partners? Have they been around for a while?”
Captain WCF looks away as he thinks for a moment.
Captain WCF: “I think they all newer too. I think all have joined in last two weeks or so.”
Master C puts his hand on the Captain’s shoulder and looks at him a little more seriously now.
Captain WCF: “You’re going to have to be the leader of that team, Captain. These guys may not know how things work in the WCF yet and they’re more than likely going to need your help.”
Captain WCF’s face morphs from joy to determination at hearing Master C’s words.
Captain WCF: “You right, Master C. I the one with most WCF experience in match. I need to use past experience and show them I know what it takes to win here!”
Master C smiles and nods at the Captain’s resolve.
Master C: “At the same time, your experience will also be your biggest strength against your opponents. They are new to the WCF and you’ll need to use what you’ve already gone through to be one step ahead of what they’re able to throw at you.”
The Captain’s head looks like it’s about to fall off his shoulders with the amount of nodding he is doing at this point.
Captain WCF: “Yes, Master C, I show them that the Captain is best wrestler and the one who the WCF galaxy cheers for week after week, even with them not there!”
Captain WCF backs up a little from this master and strikes his ultimate super hero pose.
Captain WCF: “I pick up another big win and continue path to becoming greatest wrestler and person WCF has ever seen! BANZAI!”
