THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE EXPLODE!

@firestarter
It gives you shivers doesn't it?
This is the most dangerous possible matchup that I could have possibly asked for.
I have spent the entirety of my reign defending this belt on the basis of principles.
For Honor, For Unity, for Perserverance.
My foes, they have run the gamut. While some understood the strengths that these principles, can bring, others defied them.
Through it all the People have stood by my side, at my back.
But now? Now there is a test like no other.
Through thick and thin, through Beach Krew and Pantheon, through every challenge and every foe I have always had Spencer Adams on my side.
I have always had the People's Choice to support the People's Champion, to push me to new heights, newer and loftier ambitions.
While other dismissed the People's Championship as a toy, a popularity contest, a meaningless achievement?
We based our stable around it.
We became one of the most powerful forces in WCF by the will of the people alone.
We spoke for you when noone else would.
We stood strong against Beach Krew when they threatened to rip the company in half.
We fought for honor, for glory.
Now, for the first time in a long time...
There is no we.
There is no People's Choice.
For this match, there is only Spencer Adams and Teo del Sol.
Brothers in arms now armed for combat.
Only one can advance to the most difficult challenge any champion could ever face.
Only one can be in Ultimate Showdown.
This title belt, for all it stands for, for the heights it has reached and the rivalries it has spawned, for the legends that have represented it...
For this match it is no golden trophy.
It is a crown of Thorns.
They say that one cannot be a champion unless he is willing to give up everything.
To put his every effort into keeping hold on that belt.
If you had asked me last week whether I knew what that meant, I would be able to say yes without hesitation.
I have bled for this belt.
I have broken bones, I have put my body on the line.
I have been in ladder matches, hardcore matches, Scaffold Matches, and I have even put myself through People's Punishment, where the audience themselves decided the fate of the competitors.
I have lost nights training, I have rarely slept, every single bit of my focus has been on this championship.
On both building a reign that would be written of in the history books,
And on making the People's Championship into something more than a 'tertiary' title.
On more than a 'gimmick' belt.
If the length of my reign can put one thought in anyone's head, do not let it be that Teo del Sol was a great champion.
No, let my reign be proof that the People.
That we!
Can accomplish seemingly impossible things.
Look at where WCF stands now.
On the brink of collapse, at the edge of oblivion, with most of the roster taking their ball and going home, our future looked inevitable.
A page in the history books, a going away show if we were lucky.
Nuh-uh.
Look at where we are now.
We stand on the eve of one of the greatest Pay-Per-Views in the history of the business!
And there is not a single person on that roster who cannot take credit.
I don't care whether you've been here for years or you have been here for days.
The ONLY reason that this match is happening is because of you.
The People's Voice is a force unlike anything else.
It can shatter mountains, can tear down cities.
Or it can create legends.
Let this match be the newest page in the legacy we have written for this belt.
Let it be the crown jewel in the longest reign in the history of the belt.
I could not ask for a better opponent.
Spencer Adams is not only my best friend, but he is a former People's Champion himself.
He is a tenacious, hardworking and honorable man who has poured himself into WCF as much as any name in the hall of fame.
I would personally demand after Showdown that Spencer Adams gets the next shot at the People's Championship should he falter here.
But that is beyond the scope of my abilities.
There is no bad blood.
There is no rivalry.
I had the chance last week to create a rivalry.
To cut the cord and smash Spencer Adams with the People's Championship.
It would have made this week far easier.
A Spencer Adams out for blood would have been far less of a challenge to defeat.
But I couldn't do it.
I couldn't turn.
Not on Spencer Adams, and not on you.
Spencer, I want you to understand, this is a match that I can NOT lose.
I have waited for 8 months, have defended this belt against a murderer's row.
Against Torture, Johnny Rabid, Andre Holmes, Adam Young, Vengeance, Caliban, Andrew Marx, Kyle Kemp, and Excalibur.
I have never backed away from a challenge, I have put this belt on the line and I have held onto it by the will of and in the name of the WCF Galaxy.
And now, at the edge of it all, I have the chance to turn my reign into a shot at the World Title.
I know that you have gotten close, Spencer.
I know that your fingers have practically grasped that gold.
3rd Place in War. Final Destination.
Spencer Adams is going to be world Champion one day.
But me Spencer?
I haven't even come close.
I have beaten a laundry list of WCF's finest, and I have no doubt I've made enemies along the way. I have turned away not only contenders to my belt, but I have fought against some of the greatest this company has to offer.
I have fought Mikey Extremes, Zombie McMorrises.
I have managed to shake Dune.
But until now, none of it has ever put me close to a World Title Shot.
This is my brass ring Spencer.
This is the payoff.
The Denouement.
You may be my best friend.
You may have stood by me when noone else would.
With Vic we may have formed the People's Choice, won both the tag and Trios belts.
But I cannot let you take this from me.
Cannot let you steal it from me at the last hurdle.
Spencer Adams, you may be my best friend....
But you are also my opponent.
I know the People want to see the best man in Showdown.
So let me say now from the bottom of my heart, may the best man win.
But know also Spencer that I will do everything in my power to make sure it's me.
The stakes are too high.
I have waited too long.
This is my moment, my chance at history.
And all I have to do to is defeat my best friend.
When this is all over, we'll be friends again Spencer.
But until that day, you are standing in my way.
And I will not let you be the obstacle I couldn't climb.

Hmm...where do I start?
Let me repeat the obvious.
This IS the people's championship.
No, I'm not referring to the belt either, but rather Teddy Sol and Spencer Adams.
People like us, we transcend the championship.
That belt, it never made Spencer Adams or Teo Del Sol. No, WE made that belt when it's been in our possession.
Typically, you hear it thought of as this low rank championship, something that is treated as an afterthought.
Neither of us are about that though.
This week, WE become the people's championship as these two great champions and warriors wage battle.
Not just your ordinary fight, but one of the highest possible honor.
Teo, I respect the shit out of what you've done with that strap. It's exactly what The People's Choice was all about.
Teo Del Sol and Spencer Adams are the type of competitors that give the people those moments to remember.
WE are the ones that people keep talking about once they exit out of the arena and make their way to their cars.
I've suffered concussions and taken major risk and many would ask "Why?"
Why the hell wouldn't Spencer Adams just go out and take the easy road?
It's because I see the value in what they're paying for and it's something that I never got when I was younger.
I wasn't going out and viewing these heroes in person, but rather the kid who turned up the TV volume when dad was hitting mom, escaping to a place where my idols were standing up for what is right, making those around them happy.
Some of those kids that watch our product, they might be me Teo. They might be young Spencer, the kid who has to comfort baby sis when things aren't going well, the kid who has to try his best to be bigger.
Now, with this match, I know you're capable of beating the tar out of me and retaining, but allow me to be a tad critical for a minute.
You're right when you say that you haven't quite gotten your shot. Me? I've gotten a few.
THAT is the difference maker. Have you lost a TV title or two or the trios belts before? Yes. Of course.
The thing is though, none of those are quite what guys like us require to become great.
You've been pushed down hills while I've been thrown off mountains.
The defeats you've tasted aren't quite what I've dealt with.
I've been inches and minutes away from becoming the man around here, the standard bearer.
Teo, we both want this win. It's something that we both feel we need desperately.
The thing is, and I say this with all the respect in the world, you do not need this.
You don't quite know it yet, but what Teddy needs this week is a loss.
You NEED Spencer Adams to beat you.
You NEED to be launched off the mountain.
You NEED that loss that knocks the wind out of you.
Without that, guys like us cannot truly reach our full potential.
While I know you can crush me, it's me who has to hand you a loss this week. It's for your own good.
You NEED to sample that soul crushing sort of loss to reach the next level.
You know that one day, that belt will change hands. I don't want to have to put you down and take the dream from my best friend. I don't want to take that chance at Ultimate Showdown away from my best friend, but I HAVE to.
Here's what I need to do, what I will do everything in my power to fulfill:
1. I beat Teddy Blaze, winning the People's Championship and moving onto Ultimate Showdown.
2. I defeat the field and plant my flag at the top of the mountain.
3. I give Teddy Blaze the first crack at knocking me off once I've reached the peak.
Teddy, you need this loss, man. That's why I have to make sure you don't walk away victorious.
When I beat you, you'll feel sick to your fucking stomach for weeks.
That is until I say "Give me Teddy Blaze" and The People's Choice duke it out once more for the top prize in the company.
When that day comes, the day where we face off for rights to the peak, then you will be ready.
By that time you will have tasted the sort of crushing loss that makes you something beyond legendary.
It will happen eventually and this week, I would be honored to be the one to show Teddy Blaze what frustration feels like, what being finger tips away...really...feels like.
The way I see it, there's nobody better to get you to that stage than your best friend.
This Sunday, be prepared to get thrown off the mountain, buddy.

@firestarter
I wanted to give the statements some time to sink in, but the time is now short, Spencer.
I'm not Zombie, I won't drown you in tweets, suffocate you like so much foam from an extinguisher.
I wish only to reiterate that for the first time since having this belt, it is just as much about me as it is about the people at home.
I wish to continue on as their herald, as their champion.
But I know better.
The People grow restless.
The People want bigger and better things for me, to reward me for my work.
I can hope, at least.
I came within inches of losing this belt at Blast, and it would not surprise me to come even closer this time.
But Spencer, you have to believe me when I say the following.
I have to win this match.
I know that I can win Showdown.
I know that I can be a world Champion.
But the shot simply will not come any other way.
You can say that you'll offer me a title shot when you win the belt.
And I wholly believe that is your intention.
But there are no guarantees.
There are no sure things.
There is always a question mark.
If there is anyone in the world who can take this title from me right as I cross that finish line.
Who can trip me up from facing the challenge I have been preparing for for months.
It would be the Antidote.
There are low blows I could throw, barbs I could launch.
I could try to turn the people against you.
But I do not want a civil war.
Spencer Adams should be the next People's Champion, but not yet.
Not until I have had the chance that I have worked for.
The opportunity that I have earned.
By submitting myself to the will of the people time and again I have managed to turn away every single challenger.
But win or lose, this is the last time that I will call on them.
Whichever of us wins will not be walking out of Showdown with this belt.
We're destined for greater things.
But the fact remains that I am the People's Champion, and there is nothing in the world that means more to me than walking into Showdown as the Longest Reigning People's Champion and showing the entire world just how important this belt is.
I know you're training hard Spencer, and I can't wait to finally face you.
But friend...
Train Harder.

I've pretty much said what matters, but I'll tell you and everybody else once more just so that it's understood.
While you are the single greatest people's champion in history. You are not yet The Antidote.
That's not to say that I'm better than you. No, I think we're very evenly matched competitors in many ways.
Still, you have not faced enough of those much needed challenges, the ones that make you world title level.
That's what this is about, right?
This week is a great people's title match, but Showdown is right around the corner.
I do truly believe that this is more than it's billed as.
I believe that the winner of this match has as good of a chance as anyone to pull off what many may think to be impossible by winning Ultimate Showdown and winning their first world championship in WCF.
That someone is me though. It has to be.
I'm going out there to give you that much needed lesson.
I need to rip those hopes and dreams of heading into showdown right out from under you to make you reach your full potential.
That's why you're getting the same motherfucker that everybody else gets.
Teddy, I'm sorry, but your belt is coming back home to The Antidote.
2 time People's Champion, Ultimate Showdown winner, and new world champion all in the same month.
Watch.

**The Baron is sitting in the corner of a practice ring after his workout. He checks out what's going on with WCF on his phone before he travels to Philly. He decided to send a quick YouTube message to the two competitor's for the People's Championship match at Slam**
I am keeping a close eye on this match...
And, my personal feelings aside, Teddy and Spencer, I do respect both of you. I know I could give you both a good match, but that may be down the road.
Until then, I will be very intrigued and will watch your match with great interest.
See you both in Philly on Sunday...

@mrsunshine
It's good to see you Vic, I'm glad you're well.
...This all used to be so easy, you know?
We were the voice of the voiceless. The Champions of the weak and downtrodden.
Superheroes.
Working tirelessly to keep the People's Championship and the Tag Championships out of the hands of villains.
We wanted no reward, no big parade in our honor.
Just to remind everyone that there were still heroes out there.
Now we're finally getting that brass ring, that championship shot.
But there can be only one.
You know, Ultimate Showdown was the match that defined us, Spencer. When I fought David Sanchez and you fought Kyle Kemp, it started something.
It started a fundamental shift in WCF that can still be felt to this day.
Now one year later it's all ending where it all began.
At Ultimate Showdown.
One of us will be in that match that we never even thought about.
The match we weren't good enough for back then.
And the other will be on the outside looking in.
Spencer, there's no other way to say it. One of us will have to take this away from the other.
There is no other way.
And though it tears my heart out to say it,
I will not be your stepping stone.
I will not be on the outside looking in.
I cannot.
This match is the end of everything, and the beginning of something new.
And it all starts tonight.
Noone can take away what we accomplished at last year's showdown.
And this year is just as big.
If it means that I have to undo everything we've worked for, so be it.
But I know we can endure.
no matter who wins this week, after Showdown, you're still my friend.
This week will not change that as far as I'm concerned.
But until that bell rings, you are my opponent.
My enemy.
So be it.

As my final statement, I just want to remind you.
I want you to go back to every highlight and every vicious promo I've shot.
Watch through those prior to going out there tonight.
It's not a couple of weights and a dozen toe touches that you need to be prepared.
No, you need the reminder of who the fuck Spencer Adams is.
Even as my best friend, you would still need to refresh your brain on the matter.
You need to remember the man who tied 3rd in WAR.
Remember the man who quarantined Adam Young into the bottom of a dumpster.
Remember the man who gave Kyle Kemp a vaccine onto a pile of thumb tacks.
Remember the man who made history with Vic by winning holding both team based championships at the same time.
Remember the man, because that's what Spencer Adams is, THE fucking man.
Make a revisit to my history your pre-match workout plan.
When you finish all that and feel that you're as reacquainted with the biggest threat you've ever faced, then walk your cheerful self down to the ring.
That man who you become perfectly familiar with through the use of previous tape.
He's...different.
In fact, he's infinitely better.
So, I'll tell you what.
After you've watched the tape on Spencer Adams, I'll give you all of it plus more.
Teo, I've been away for some time now.
This week, I think I'll add another highlight to that collection.
The new People's Champ is approaching and I got 7 other guys who will no doubt be watching what we've done this week and using it to teach themselves just as I've advised you to do here.
Unfortunately, they'll find themselves just one step behind the next people's champion and the next world champion.
