Dionysus: Lord of the Vine
Nicknames
Lord of the Vine
Master of Revels
Gimmick
The Crimson Gladiator - Doesn't mind getting hardcore when the situation calls for it, but otherwise competes fairly. Along with amateur wrestling and jiu jitsu (as well as other martial stylings), Dion has also studied combat stylings of gladiatorial combat, particularly the Murmillo and the Cestus styles. When making an entrance, he often carries with him a shield similar in stature to a Spartan shield, though made of sturdier metal than bronze. The shield is fitted with a custom arm strap designed to fit Dion's arm perfectly, though some can use this with some ease. Instead of issuing challenges verbally, he will wear a pair of gauntlets to formal challenges, in order to drop them in front of his perceived opponent. He refers to his fan base as The Legion.
Dionysus - Dion, being a devout follower of Dionysus, has curried favor with the greek pagan deity. As a result, he has decided to inhabit his body...at least, kayfabe. Dion has embraced the theatrical style of the god of madness and revelry, and incorporates this newfound persona into his shoots.

Entrance Description
"Leaving Dionysus" by Leaving Dionysus begins to play throughout the Arena. "The Legion", 20 Centurion guards march down the aisle, lining up 10 on one side and 10 on the other leading down to the ring and stand at attention.
A quadriga of four Clydesdale horses pulling a chariot made of gold appears carrying "The Crimson Gladiator" Dion Necurat and makes its way down the aisle as if entering the Roman Colosseum ready to do battle and circles the ring and stops.
As Dion enters the ring, the quadriga of four Clydesdale horses pulling a chariot made of gold makes its way back up the aisle and disappears followed by The Legion.
"The Crimson Gladiator" Dion Necurat, standing in the middle of the ring, raising a scepter of Dionysus toward the crowd and starts banging the shaft against a custom made Vibranium/steel alloy Spartan shield calling out his opponent to engage him into a fight to the death.
Dion's fans stand in unison to cheer their warrior as gold coins in Dion Necurat's likeness rains down on him in the center of the ring. He looks out to his fans, who give Dion the thumbs up and gives his opponent the thumbs down, meaning "Death!"
Dion raises both arms holding the scepter and custom made Spartan shield wide out over his head in praise to the crowd and let's out a Gladiator bloodcurdling scream.

Backstory
Dionysus (or Dion, as he will be referred to) was born into a family centered around wrestling. His father and his uncle, Anton Heedon, were both part of the industry, and opened up their own wrestling school in the Midwest. Dion, wanting to follow in his father's footsteps, decided to step between the ropes, joining his school's wrestling team...and realizing what a difference it was to what his father did. He quickly quit the team and joined his father's wrestling school, and soon after, his father traveled to Japan to compete regularly. Anton took the reigns of the school, only to see it collapse from underneath him.
During that time, Dion had earned his Bachelors degree in History, also earning a double-minor in Health Science and Classic Studies. He used his newfound free time to start a wrestling career for himself. He was on a track to success...that is, until he was involved with a car accident that left him with a dislocated shoulder and sidelined for several months. This paled in comparison to his mother, Sophia Necurat, who was not only injured from the accident, but fell into a coma as well. She did manage to recover, but her long term memory was gone, and she was needing constant care due to her weakened state.
Facing a pile of medical bills and with nowhere left to turn, Dion signed a contract with WCF. Even on a bad shoulder, he could still salvage a career. In that time, he founded a charity organization called The Necurat Foundation, a campaign designed to assist with efforts involving the homeless community, particularly with children. With several backers to the campaign, including local business tyrants such as United HealthGroup and The Mayo Clinic, he amassed not only wealth, but a reputation of a generous philanthropist.
The Brotherhood
Dion had trouble finding his stride in WCF, until Kevin Bishop approached him, offering to take Dion under his wing. He joined a fellow group of misfit wrestlers under the banner of The Brotherhood, a group dedicated to building each member up in their own right, as opposed to seeking glory. The team itself was ultimately an experiment in failure, but its members had their own memorable moments. They feuded with another rising faction, Zero Tolerance, though they ultimately had the upper hand in most of their confrontations. When Lester Parish decided to put the group behind him, Dion stepped to the plate, offering to take the place of Parish as Bishop's right hand. This would inevitably lead to Dion leading the group after Kevin's departure. Not long after, however, the group was disbanded, leaving each member to find their own path.
The Story So Far (10/5/17)
Dionysus has not been seen since his time as World Champion, after losing the title in the Ultimate Showdown match.
