[:Scene opens live backstage of the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio as WCF presents another episode of Slam. We are joined by returning WCF superstar Danny Anderson and the World Heavyweight Champion, Stuart Slane. They are sitting in a makeshift interview area consisting of potted plants, two black leather chairs, and 45' plasma TV.:]
Danny Anderson: Before we go on, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for being the first guest of my new Internet show- and to say congratulations on winning the 2016 WCF Classic and becoming the NEW World Heavyweight Champion, it's an honor Mr. Slane.
Stuart Slane: That's kind of you to say, Mister Anderson. Good luck with the show, and your Internet Title Contendership Match later this evening.
[:Danny gives the cue to go on air.:]
Danny Anderson: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to a brand new Internet show I'm hosting called The DannGer Zone where I will ask the hard-hitting questions about the latest happenings in WCF. Our first guest is the Current World Heavyweight Champion, Stuart Slane.
Stuart Slane: Good evening, WCF Galaxy.
Danny Anderson: Alright first off let's get this out of the way, what are your thoughts of Seth's mental breakdown a month ago when he went on a frenzy tearing up contracts of the roster.
Stuart Slane: I think that, whatever happened in Mexico, it ultimately served as a testament to the strength of WCF as an institution. Most other companies would have gone under after such a gutting of its roster. But the Wrestling Championship Federation continues to survive.
Danny Anderson: Were you surprised your contract wasn't among those torn up?
Stuart Slane: I felt lucky. We're led to believe those terminated were picked wholly at random. If that was indeed the case, it could have just as easily been me looking for work elsewhere.
Danny Anderson: How about that WCF Classic, I'm sure you have some feelings about it since you won and are now our World Heavyweight Champion. Your reaction to winning? Who was your toughest opponent in the tournament?
Stuart Slane: I'm honored. To be champion of WCF, even in it's, ah, reconstituted state, is something I never expected. As for the Classic, I would say the greatest challenge came in the finals, where I had to face future Hall of Famer Jeff Purse and a talented rookie Nathan Chambers to win the tournament. My only wish is that James Chevalier had been able to participate, but given his tragic accident that was impossible. Hopefully "The Game" will be able to make a full recovery from his injuries, and return to WCF in some capacity.
Danny Anderson: Now let's take you back to last week, what was your thinking when you came out on Slam with the intention of issuing an open challenge to anyone in the back to come out and face you for the title? And your response to who came out and Seth's decision?
Stuart Slane: As I said, I wanted to give everyone an opportunity to at least makes their intentions clear. There's an old saying: ninety percent of success is just showing up, and last week you, Mister King, and Herr Massaker did just that. I hope Seth does give you all a chance to prove you deserve a shot for the title. As for Seth's ultimate choice to face me; Oblivion is owed a rematch. Whether he's given it sooner rather than later doesn't matter to me.
Danny Anderson: WCF undoubtedly is in New Era with fresh faces like Kevin Bishop, Severan King, The Baron, Psychopomp and even Henry Spearman. Is there a particular talent you are keeping an eye on?
Stuart Slane: WCF's recent hires are all doing a great job in making their mark on this company. If it weren't for these new additions WCF would not be recovering from its earlier setback so quickly. That said, I think everyone should be keeping an eye on Kevin Bishop. Our current US Champion is talented and ambitious. He seems interested in forming alliances within WCF. I suspect he's going to make some kind of power play within the fed soon. Also, while he can't exactly be considered part of "The New Era", Brent Alpine definitely has my attention.
Danny Anderson: So tonight you are scheduled to defend the World Heavyweight title against Oblivion who is one of the former Champions during the WCF Classic. Do you think you are ready for the Monster?"
Stuart Slane: Yes. Oblivion is a capable wrestler notorious for his savagery in the ring; but I've faced, and beaten, better. Tonight's main event will end the same way Blast's did; with me holding the WCF World Title.
Danny Anderson: Well I think that about covers everything. Thanks again for joining me on The DannGer Zone and good luck in your match against Oblivion tonight!
[:Danny extends his hand to Stuart and they shake hands as the scene fades to black.:]
