Melissa: Sometimes it's hard to fit in.
Nathan Chambers: Welcome to middle school. It's not going to be easy. Schoolwork will always be schoolwork but finding who you are truly meant to be doesn't come at this age. Some people discover who they really are later in life so you shouldn't focus on where you fit in or which crowd is yours. Just go with the flow.
Melissa: Try telling that to everyone here in Vailsburg. It's like you don't fit in, you don't belong. Always have to be with a clique.
When you're an influence in the world like Nathan, it's pretty demanding to give back to society. He's doing his own piece today by visiting the Vailsburg Middle School in Newark, New Jersey to help the youths understand what they're going through, and offer advice to better themselves for the future. Leaning back on the teacher's desk with his arms folded in front of a classroom of thirty wasn't easy. Questions are being thrown at him like a baseball being hit out of the park. However, it is for the better so he is taking it well. Dressed casually with a grey Reebok shirt, blue jeans, and white converses with a silver penchant necklace, and blue watch, how bad could it be?
Nathan Chambers: So it's all about joining a group or having something to get you noticed? You can't be noticed on your own?
Dave: Yeah.
Nathan Chambers: Hmm.
Nathan pointed to the nerd looking kid in the fifth row, last seat. He was busy drawing on the desk, and the attention was on the nerd. A little social experiment to test how the kids judged him.
Nathan Chambers: What is your name?
The little nerd kid, ginger haired, pimple covered in the face with braces pushed his glasses up. Stumbling on his words; How shy he must be.
Nathan Chambers: Your name?
Emmanuel: Emmanuel...sir.
Nathan Chambers: So, this is Emmanuel. What group would you guys put him in based on his looks?
Jack: Easy, he's loserville certified.
The entire class laughed. Jack was Emmanuel's bully. Leaned back in his chair with his two dollar biker jacket on, legs kicked up. Nathan noticed how every time Jack spoke, his head was down as if Jack was his master. Honestly, Nathan understood both sides of Ying, and Yang. Bully, and bullied but this time, he chose the bullied side to come to his defense. So he got up off the desk, and started walking around the classroom.
Nathan Chambers: Very interesting. You're right. Emmanuel would be classed as a nerd, loser. It's because he doesn't dress like you do, doesn't smell like you do or doesn't use facial products like you do but...he has a few things you guys don't have. He's very intelligent, can think outside the box and...
With permission, he gently shows his beautiful artwork to the class, and the students are impressed.
Nathan Chambers: Very creative.
Definitely a mind breaker. After giving Emmanuel back his book, he stood in front of the class again to lay down the law.
Nathan Chambers: Anyways. I'm not here to be the guy to tell you what you should be. That choice is up to you but if you continue to join groups or use things to build this identity around yourself, you're not going to find the person who you really want to be. It kind of reminds me of someone who I work with. As a matter of fact, a man I will wrestle to defend my WCF Perfection Title. Mikey eXtreme.
Jack: Which idiot names themselves eXtreme? That's such a stupid name, and it's so fake. I would change it.
The entire class burst out into laughter. Nathan was chuckling a little too but it was the truth. Mikey was just like these children. Changing names, changing gimmicks whenever something worked for him. His history showed it.
Nathan Chambers: It's funny you mention that. Before he won the United States Championship, Mikey could be said to be a lot of things. On his debut, the commentators made a mistake, and called him Mikey eXplosion. I don't know what they got that from but Mikey was an unknown guy who had eXtreme in his name given the fact he never did anything eXtreme for a while. It just a stupid name as you said to maybe sound cool or make people think he would be the next Hardcore Champion but all of a sudden that time was passed as his prime. Mikey was just a nobody searching to fit in but instead of finding who he is now, he was looking to fit in by any means necessary
Joining groups like DRG or fighting against Grime who was the worst of the worst in this company. He didn't know what to do. Mikey was a lost sheep begging to be adopted by a shepherd but now he's suddenly found himself because he couldn't get the opportunity to get the Hardcore Title which is now gone? He's a lying hypocrite. See, when you do everything to fit in, you're creating multiple identities. Think of it like fake passports or fake driver licenses to sneak into a party which some of you will do when you go to college. Mikey did everything he can to sneak into the Television Title twice but got kicked out by the bouncer who is Grime. Everything wasn't working. He didn't know what to do so he had to figure out a way to become noticed.
Seth was almost ready to remove his contract, fire him, and leave him homeless. I wouldn't be surprised if Mikey was homeless right now judging by how he looks. A beard left not brushed, and hair unwashed doesn't look attractive. However, desperation makes us do stupid things or finally gets us where we want to be. Mikey was lucky enough to stumble on the gold that would make him be the man he is known today.
Melissa: Whose that?
Nathan Chambers: Mikey's America.
Dave: We had a president named Mikey?
Nathan Chambers: No. We all knew about Mikey's America because he was able to become a three time United States Champion give or take the embarrassing title loss to Ethan King, and Vengeance. Especially Vengeance, that was the biggest blow to him ever but he managed to get it back so applauds to him..
All of the students started whispering, and gossiping about how pathetic the name was. Nathan nodded. He knew Mikey was the man for the United States Championship but once you limit yourself to only one thing, that's where your expectations lies.
Nathan Chambers: I get it. He dominated the United States division, and did his best. Undefeated even though he lost three times, and beat the crap out of Chelsea Armstrong at our biggest event, One. He--
Melissa: He beat a girl?!
Nathan Chambers: More like put her in the hospital, and ended her career.
Jack: What a pussy!
The entire class gasped as Jack's foul language, and Nathan shrugged it off.
Nathan Chambers: I'm going to pretend I never heard that but yes. He did everything. Ruined two careers. Bernard's and Chelsea's but the people he faced were good, sometimes better. If you're the King of the division or the greatest United States Champion ever, you retire undefeated, and unbeaten. He was beaten three times for the belt, and all of his combined reigns barely even passed a 150 days. Mikey eXtreme thinks because he held the United States Title three times grants him as the greatest but here he is knocking on my door begging to get into the Perfection house.
He's entering a new division that he can't handle, and that's why he's going to do. Everything he's done in the United States title division doesn't matter in the Perfection division. Naked you come, and naked you shall go. All your past is forgotten in MY division so the present, and future are the only thing that matters. Mikey won't understand that because he clings on. "I'm this, I'm that back in my day." No. You won the United States Title, and then assumed your fake passport into the United States by creating this stupid, and irrelevant gimmick Mikey's America that was taken away from you three times. At least Dag Riddik held the International Title until Mexico happened. He didn't hold it all. Now because the Hardcore Title was in his grasp, he's going back to his old name eXtreme. You see what I mean kids? Mikey cannot think for himself because every title he holds, he puts his name on it to ensure he was all about the culture of the championship.
Television Title? Could have been Mikey TV. Tag? Mikey Teamwork? What's next when he wins the World Title IF that'll ever happen? Mikey's World? This guy has no originality, and is using his last name changes as a way to trick people he's all about Hardcore.
Emmanuel: And the Perfection Title?
He thought about it long, and hard. If Mikey was able to beat Nathan for the Perfection Championship, he wouldn't know what Mikey could do with the division he birthed in the first place. It would be a huge massacre, and tragedy for him of all people to tarnish a great legacy in the making all because he couldn't latch onto the United States legacy he made. A great one but it isn't legendary as much as the Perfection era will be. It's already infected the World Title scene, and it's going to cover WCF as a whole. Nathan folded his arms, and chuckled.
Nathan Chambers: I'll tell you this kid. He won't get the Perfection Title because he's not the one for it. He's too imperfect to see beyond his own eyes that Mikey isn't authentic enough to hold onto such a responsibility. If he complained about the rules the Perfection division set, no need to be in it. He's a crying baby that needs to grow up. Life isn't fair, WCF is never fair. Take it from my drunk boss who is mad with power but I'm offering people to be a chance more than they are naturally.
The Perfection Championship is a beacon of hope. A second chance to be something people always wanted to be. Respected, loved, a true champion. You don't find much of that anywhere. To go through such hardships, and walk out the victor is worthy of greatness but Mikey is too barbaric, and narrow-minded to understand that this is a gift for anyone who wants to win Perfection. He's like the old times. It's just time to hang up the boots because he can't hack it. The United States Championship was everything to him but this is my LIFE. I will fight to defend it, and I will die to protect it. Mikey. He may think he's going to take the belt away from me, and use it as another fake passport.
It's WAY more than that! The Perfection Championship has thousands-- no, millions of supporters ready to see it be defended over, and over. People like you, and Zombie who were failures of the Hardcore division will not affect the progress, and growing strength of the prestige of the belt. Kids. Take my advice People like Mikey are going to do their best to ruin all you create but you have to stand strong. Nobody can take away what you built from the very foundation as long as you put all the work into it. This is my legacy, no our legacy now kids. You leave this class, and build your legacy while I dominate WCF with mine. Mikey's America, Mikey eXtreme, and Mikey whatever he wants to call himself will learn one thing. No matter how much illusions you put on, Perfection sees everything at it's core. Mikey. I see you as one thing, and one thing. Mikey's Imperfect, and that won't change.
Nathan Chambers: Welcome to middle school. It's not going to be easy. Schoolwork will always be schoolwork but finding who you are truly meant to be doesn't come at this age.
